Using Crossout for Talents is the main way to survive against it if you need to use Monster effects on your opponent's turn(i.e. if you want to spam hand traps), and that's also one of the reasons I think you want to pair it with Thrust and CoH if it's part of your main Offense lines going second, you should have Crossout for Ash and Droll if those cards give you trouble regardless. And aggressive Crossout Designator usage is probably the one way to do well consistently with the "Pure" build, since Engine builds won't have spares of their cards to banish with it, meaning they'll have to either do incomplete combos with it, make awkward plays with Oak and Original Sinful Spoils to get back banished monsters(yes those cards can do that when used certain ways, don't be afraid of Banishing your one ofs), or banish Wanted to put their other Sinful Spoils cards back after banishing them with Designator. Apo's fine, you throw down Imperm or chuck Silvera to negate it, or use TTT/CoH/Mind Control to steal it and often the game's just yours(especially if you can make a Zealantis play with it when you're done with their's). And Change of Heart Targeting plays around Goddess, something you'd THINK wouldn't come up with how seldom it's seen lately, but it CAN since this is a GY heavy format and it's a potential I:P target that's safer than Apo to go into so you HAVE to take that under consideration(safety is key in Single Elim situations like Top Cuts). Half of this win came down to PAK's crew thinking ahead of the other meta chasers, half of it came down to them just using what they had better(and knowing EVERYTHING they can do with it instead of just the popular plays). Reminder that they basically paired an engine EVERYONE is using with a bunch of main and extra deck staples so there's really nothing no one's seen before here, their main advantage here is that no one's going into this preparing to attack the Snake-Eyes "engine" directly, wanting instead to either play into or around specific hand traps and focus on completing THEIR board before even looking at the opponent's when possible. That just doesn't work on experienced players.
