I lost my big brother (48) on Nov. 14, 2021. He's been my best friend since the day I was born, 43 years. Every day since they has been a struggle. I have my family and my children, but I'm still alone. He was the one I would call when I was down. He was the one I'd call when something great happened. There's a gaping hole inside me that I don't know how to fill. My days are long. My nights are longer. I know he would want me to not be upset but I can't do it. I think about him every second of every day. He was me. I was him. I need to find a way. Perhaps I will. But I miss him so fucking much. I will see you again Marco, but not yet.....not yet.
Thank you so much for being brave enough to share your story. So many people are going through their own personal battles and even just being brave enough to talk about it is incredible. That’s the community I want to build here it’s a place where it’s okay to talk and admit when we are not okay. You miss your best friend! That is completely and absolutely normal but I can promise you with all my heart you will see him one day again. Your brother lives through you and everyone who loved him every day. Everything this friend has given you carry it with you forever with joy and peace because that’s what he wants. That’s what he’s gonna be smiling about once you meet him again. Keep your head up my friend we are all fighting together 😊
