I think the driver was not at fault he seems to cab driver driving the car to earn his bread and butter and he he doesn't seems to be familiar with the concept of hitchiking you should have made it clear to him that you u won't pay anything thing before getting into the car because hitchiking is not common in this part of the world

Taxi driver had no mistake. In Bangladesh, we signal them like that and if we know the fare we don't say anything about it. Hitchhiking is totally unfamiliar to them.

It's not same in India. Every people know what is meant by lift. we give signals with hand like thumbs up to get lift. Even I got lift from others and also have lift to others too. It's normal here.
A country like Bangladesh is not familiar with the word hitchhiking 100%, so you have to make sure everything is, you are taking a ride by car for 1 hour, it's totally wrong.
