Laukti - to wait. Luktelk is diminutive of that in singular 2nd conjugation. You can make most verbs into diminutive in Lithuanian. F.e. Neša(carry) neštelk (carry a bit), šneka(to talk), šnektelk (to talk a bit) and so on & on.
I have no notes, you summed up all my thoughts on this. It's catchy, it's danceable, the staging is pretty much ready to go, just a few tweeks needed and the styling is cool. I really hope he keeps the red even if he doesn't have the same outfit for Malmö. His voice fits the song. It has a very pleasant tone. Love his 'i am too cool for this' attitude during the performance. There is a maturity to him too, the production on it and the dark almost lazy tone of his voice really make this an interesting pop track so kudo's to whoever produced this aswell. Qualification in the pocket, grand final lower top 10.
This song is so different from what Lithuania has ever sent. But it has a potential ! It was not my favorite but I can see why people love it. Catchy and it can be stuck on my head. Good luck Lithuania
fell in love with this song from the moment I heard it in heat 1, there's something almost enchanting about the beat that draws you in even more. the performance is already top notch and I can't wait to see it on the ESC stage
Now, this kraftwerk-techno-industrial vibe is exactly what Germany should send to Eurovision in my opinion 😂. I don't know why they still haven't done that, there is so much music with that vibe in the German scene. I an not a fan of this specific song, I really like the chorus but the first part is not convincing. I would have liked it to emphasize the techno aspect more. But overall it's a good choice, and it will stand out in this year's lineup.
This song will win - even if only coming 2nd with both jury and televote, because no other song (so far) speaks to both and I think we will get very different jury and televote top 10.
A 10/10 without any hesitation 😅 it is just so hypnotizing and addictive, I'm obsessed with the performance. It's dark and catchy at the same time. I definitely can see the similarities with Samo Mi Se Spava (red and blue staging, 4 masked dancers, lyrics in national language, soft vocals, brutal changes in the song) and it explains a lot of things, as they're both my ESC winners. We have to see the other songs, but this one just hooked my attention up, and I don't think I will change my 1st place soon. Great analysis btw 😉
It's a banger. I will vote for it. I's so refreshing to have something exciting in a sea of bland pop and weird-for-the-sake-of-weird acts. Also important: Show us your long hair. :D

I think there is many interpretation, but I personaly sees that life sucks I dont want to deal with stuff anymore, and then you like fuck wait a bit I dont wanna dance but I must go on. With tthe Word LUKTELK thats not so hard to explain its just short cut WAIT
@@eurovisionhistories What do you mean? It's literally the same word 😭😭😭 It's all about conjugation. Our conjugation gymnastics are on the Olympic level tho.
@@eurovisionhistories ha, ha. There is! L and K stay the same! And "au" turns to "u". "LauK", "LuKtelk". And "telk" adds sense of haste, shortness in time. :)

I really like this one, very catchy, interesting lyrics, nice "shoulderography" and modulation in the sound. I see top 5 material. But I find him and the whole performance a bit creepy (and I think the thing on his nose is very distracting, as the guy is handsome. But this thing is terrible). Don't know if I like this. And I don't like the lighting at all. I like the shift, but I think it's overall too dark, you can barely see the people. Not that I want to, as they creep me quite a lot, as said. But still, I think this is a problem. It gives me Jüri Pootsmann vibes in a negative sense. Overall, this comment sounds very negative. But as said, this might be my favourite so far and I absolutely see this as a top 5 contender. That might be the reason why I'm so critical about it, because I WANT it to do well. I think you overrate his voice, though. I don't know if he's actually a good singer. But at least he chose a song where it doesn't really matter and where he can work well with what he has. About the Luke Black thing: I think the songs have similar vibes and also slight similarities in the performance, so maybe the artistic idea is similar, but yes, I think Silvester's song is superior in every regard. Also, about the name: I think his original name is very similar and Silvester Belt is basically just internationalized to sound less Lithuanian.
I feel like it's got style but never really ' kicks in' as a song. Is that reflecting the lyrics? That we're left feeling like we're still waiting for something to happen? ;)
It's one of the better songs surely, but if this is winner material the level this year is really low. Apart from being in Lithuanian and having a rather catchy melody, there's nothing really groundbreaking about it.
I agree. Actualy it is my favourite but first i am not even sure it will go throug semi finals since semi 1 is strong and second i can only see it geting top like 7th as best. Even tho i might think it deserves better
Not so fun fact but lithuania have on of the highest suicide rates in EU and what I've heard suicides happens mostly during winter times when it a looks sunless and depressing so that would make sense why there is something about winter how you already mentioned and why lithuanian have song that is something about mental health or depression
The staging presentation is very ordinary: it's a singer and several dancers. The best part of the whole package is the song itself (that beat is everything). Since we're gonna see this on TV, there needs to be some signature visual "wow" moments that can compel the televote (Loreen's panini press for example sold an otherwise typical radio-friendly pop entry). The entry itself also doesn't have unique vocal moments which juries usually fall for, especially considering ESC is also a live event that involves singing.
I liked their song of 2020 when unfortunately the event was cancelled cause of COVID but this year I don't think they would have qualified with simple joy but I wouldn't mind seeing them again on Eurovision
Musically it feels very dated and even empty. I wished it had more layers than just the 90's samples because it's very catchy and I wanted to like it more.

Your language sounds amazing (just by this little fact alone) and I wish I had the time to learn it...
With Silvester and Angelina it seems we will break our shoulders this year while watching Eurovision. Great entry from Lithuania!
😂😂😂
I looove Silvester ❤❤❤❤ Good luck in Sweden!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Btw didn't mean to say Estonian and Lithuania are similar but rather that they are languages you don't hear every day
Lithuanian is Baltic language.Estonian a different root.

I'm so happy he qualified, he will be getting all my televote points for sure
what country u r from ?
My number 1!
Lithuania I think takes Europe crown this year it’s special and iconic ❤
Laukti - to wait, palaukti - wait for a small time, luktelti - wait for a very small bit. Hope that helps 😅 it works for other verbs too ( not all)
I love this song. I love jou ❤
To be honest I didn't think much of this song but I always feel different about a song after hearing your explanation. I do like it.

Yes I can see this finishing in top 5 Lithuania did a great choice selecting Silvester Belt
Yes, top 10 for sure. Probably 5-10 like you said, though maybe even a bit higher, 3-4

This one reminds me of Discoteque from 2021, which only came 14th with the jury. I doubt they will like this one more, but who knows.
I personally dont like this song, but think its still quite good. Also love that it in Lithuanian

Yes, you can contract "wait a bit" into one word. Simply "Wait!" is "palauk", "wait a bit!" is "luktelk".
Ok no real similarity between wait and wait a bit. Cool!
