i love how you noticed that the song wasnt praising america, its fun how europeans and others notice it, but americans who are reacting to this are all hyped up about the part "we all live in america, its wonderfull" and miss the whole point of the song :D

You are spot on with your initial impression, good job. This song is a commentary on the cultural influence of Amerika on the whole worlds, and how american culture overshadows everything else. Also, this song was made during the Bush era, hence the line "Coca-Cola, sometimes war".

I only speak a little German, but by the couple English lyrics and the "subtle" drops of Mickey Mouse and Wonder Bra, it's not hard to place the irony and sarcasm.
The message of the moon also has a meaning all the world is seeing guys going to the moon... But behind the screen they are in a TV studio...not in the moon.
"vor paris steht mickey mouse" -> "mickey mouse is standing before (the gates of) paris"
that's a reference to disney world paris, which is hilarious, when you consider how much the frenchies 'love' us-culture. :P

So eah, it's basically a denunciation of the hegemony of the United States involved in everything as if the rest of the world belonged to them and this American supremacism which pervades all cultures. As he says "this is not a love song, I don't sing my mother tongue" (german), it is a song to denounce the American policy towards the rest of the World not to glorify the United States. He did all this vidéo around the most important pride of USA : Americans were the first walking on the Moon and he ridiculed it, like it was another american movie. And he frontly put down the most shameful thing americans have did : the native american genocide. He's not saying "my country is better than USA or any country is better than USA", this song saying "United States are not the perfect country they pretend they are, that is the truth".

@@user-ye9ou3ku5p I think so too, I only found a (very well done) animation to the song and the Official Audio Version. Maybe Rammstein rare performed with it, but I think the song is very nice in terms of lyrics and melody and therefore also worth evaluating to make the song better known.

I think the fake moon landing is supposed to show that they export a fake culture. Like, all the American stuff that gets blasted all over the world, the TV, the movies... it doesn't show America, but a fake version of it. And it's probably a bit of a play on the conspiracy theory that the actual moon landing was faked.
