Stoked to see you on the Vala! I'm sure like a lot of folks would love your take on it compared to the Santa Cruz Heckler SL. I think that would be of interest to a TON of folks since they are in the same family, but different in weight class..IDK Thanks dude -keep on rippin!
You were super fortunate to not have anyone come down booby trap, that trail is fast…but great job on Two Monkeys, it’s a great trail and it’s really fun
that's because it's meant to be a downhill trail. I swear last time I rode that trail (downhill) I had this thought of coming up to an ebiker climbing it in the back of my head, I couldn't just ride in peace, this sucks!
Steep, dusty and skinny single track!! That’s all we have locally and so we really enjoyed watching you ride it and struggle at times 😂👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻 stuff not easy to ride. Makes bike parks look like heaven.
I love Blackstar Canyon for some XC leg stretching and hit the fun single track on the way down. I’ve never done 2 Monkeys. My legs are usually done by the time I Amish my way to the Doppler. Did you guys stop and check out the Native American grinding stone site? It looks like you took the single track from that spot.
@@mtb_alan BTW, I also moved form the Giant Elite to the Heckler SL and very happy. If you end up trying one it would be a very interesting comparison to the Vala like the above commenter said.
They are absolutely amazing especially Tani being very generous of himself letting you keep up. Oh my 😂 😂 😂 Tani certainly made me laugh on 10:30.
Good people...and always willing to get into trouble. 😆

It’s a special bike!
Thanks for the suggestion!
Holy dusty trails, Batman! Ugh, I can feel the grit in my teeth from here!
Still looks like fun, and I also ride for my food 😸
😆💯

Thanks. Well...we went down Booby Trap too. 😆
Hero dust! That has got to be steep if the E couldnt get up that mountain!! Wow! Great ride!

Yeah...it was a bit of a challenge for me. The rest of the crew made it up most of those climbs though, so some of it was user error. 😆
Great video you handsome hunk! At the end you sounded like me..... What about food?! 😅
Thanks! Ha! Post-ride food is 25% of the reason to ride with friends. 😆
@mtb_alan unless there's tacos 🌮🦝 perhaps 85% then. Haha
😆

LOL! It was an adjustment. I found myself watching bike park videos later that day. 😆
@ 😂😂😂 like you cheated on bike parks
@SOCALMTBAdventures they do get jealous.

Yeah! I didn’t go check out the grinding stones themselves, but Andrew gave us a history lesson about Joaquín Murrieta while we pause there.
@@mtb_alan I had no Idea who the town of Murrieta was named after. Thanks for pointing out this historical figure.
It seems to make sense, but I'm not a historian so, grain of salt.

@@sdtrailrider8070 Thanks. I do prefer a full power motor, but we'll see.

When did you film this? Looks like perfect weather, especially compared to up here in Meeeechigan
About a week ago (mid January).
What trail do you recommend I don’t have any e bike but I have a Speacilized fuse 27.5 in the Bay Area
I haven’t ridden the Bay Area but the Pacifica trails look epic. th-cam.com/video/J0AfCIKtPx0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jMmmC3NaRfna2V3k
I would love to duplicate this ride. Did you record it on Strava or trailforks so i can look it up? Or do you know the names of the trails. Thanks
No worries. Here you go!

note: if it's not obvious, I forgot to start tracking until part way into the ride.
@@mtb_alan thanks for the details and quick response.
@js131353 🤘🏾
Are we getting food now?
😆
Now I know you watched the whole thing.
