This film is a sort of "crash course" in American history from the 50s into the late 80s, and is a great way to get a sense of all those different moments in time.
Not a history lesson so much as an exercise in nostalgia. The movie assumes the viewer is already familiar with everything it depicts from Elvis to AIDS.
@@Logan_Baron That's why I wanted to watch this. I wanted to see how much a Russian girl would miss. I think she missed the KKK reference and Jenny taking the LSD and the Watergate fiasco for starters. lol
Yeah - I don't know anything about Russian history, pop-culture or politics, so if there was a Russian version of this (Forrestri Gumplovof or something like that, I would certainly not get many of the references), but for this movie it helps to know a lot about American history. Like others have said from Elvis to AIDS. This movie is pretty accurate in it's American history but also takes great liberties with the direct involvement of Forrest Gump.
Being a retired United States Air Force serviceman, the part that always gets to me, is the simple act of using one's given name. All throughout Lt. Dan's and Forrest's time together, Lt. Dan always referred to him by his last name, "Gump." It wasn't until Dan's life had changed dramatically after the war, that he finally called him Forrest, at his and Jenny's wedding. Additionally, Dan had used derogatory terms, when talking about the Vietnamese. At the wedding, you could see that Dan had exercised those demons and had married a lovely Vietnamese woman! Lt. Dan had truly come full circle, through his friendship with Forrest. Forrest always made everyone's life better .... Even the bumper sticker guy's and the t-shirt guy's!
36:46 "Is he smart, ... or is he ... (like me)" A truly heart-breaking and emotional moment. I could see you really felt that Dasha! Tom Hanks, truly one of the great actors of our generation!
For that moment alone, he deserved the Oscar. Also, when has asks Jenny to marry him and admits he's "not a smart man, but... " that moment is almost as good. He does have his pride, after all, even while knowing he's not "normal." Forrest is more self-aware than almost anyone he meets. And he accepts who he is, while wanting better for his own child. What an acting triumph.
When Forrest gets cut off at the D.C. rally he uttered some of the most poniant pieces of dialogue never heard. -------- In an interview the director Robert Zemeckis let viewers know what was said. -------- "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mamas without any legs. In Vietnam, your best good friend could get shot. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."
Well, it can't have been that, at least not verbatim. It sounds like the speach begins with "You're" or "Your", or something like that, but definitely not "Sometimes".
I am a 70 year old man. I just spent about 30 minutes of a 43 minute video with tears in my eyes. Beautiful, inspirational, and wonderful story with a wholesome message.
Truly. She's so pure and sweet in her soul too. This was the best time I ever had watching Forrest Gump because I was seeing it through her eyes and her feelings. Dasha turned me into a big sap in this video... made me feel everything twice as much.
Forrest is not autistic. His actions are consistent with someone with an IQ of 75. He's what used to be called mentally retarded or handicapped. His relationships with other people tend to rule out any autism, IMO.
In the words of "Ricky Bobby"... "I just piss excellence." That's kind of the way I think of Tom Hanks as an actor. If he's in something, it's probably going to be good.
@@OriginalPuro He delivered so many simple lines yet they conveyed so much emotion. "I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is", "Mama got the cancer and died on a Tuesday", even "That's all I got to say about that"
For me, the most poignant part was Jenny throwing rocks at her old house and Forrest saying sometimes there just aren't enough rocks. Trying to kill off a painful past can be insurmountable with the few tools we have by ourselves.
I feel the same way , it affected me more than any other scene , but most reviewers of this movie don't seem to click to it , and too many seem to hate Jenny , not understanding how much abuse can affect one's life . Dasha's reactions were really perceptive .
One of the most beautifully subtle scenes were the birds returning to the tree. Jenny always asked to turn into a bird and fly far, far away. But in the end, the birds came back to her true home, with Forrest.
The tree was far, far away. It is where she could escape her home life. When I was six the farthest place from home was a a wooden shack under the trees 50’ from home.
"I tell ya what, the day you're a shrimp boat captain is the day I become an astronaut!" "Titanium alloy. Same thing they make the space shuttle out of." Lt. Dan
I can't believe I still learn new things about this film all the time. I recently found out about the scene with Forrest leaving Jenny's grave, a flock of birds fly away from the grave. For years I never realized that was a symbol for Jenny's life long wish - to be able to fly away.
Dasha. One of the core themes of the movie was that, "Everything happens for a reason" and you picked up on that right away. You are exceptionally sweet person, with a pure heart. Really enjoy your reactions
Absolutely. I also watch other reactors, but I think she is one of my favorites because when she cries, she lets loose, there is no holding that back or dabbing, those tears are coming out in full force. I would say she even ugly cries but come on, we all know that's impossible for her. Maybe, slightly less pretty cries.
The cgi used for Lt. Dan’s legs/prosthetics was ahead of it’s time. Everyone marveled at the capabilities of computers after watching this movie. Also, the actor who plays alt. Dan became a huge military and veteran advocate after making this movie 💝
Yes but what many people seam to not realize is with Jenny out running the country with hippies and doing drugs and finding herself she clearly didn't have a steady address, other then the old family home she was abused in. So where could she have gotten the mail? She wasn't refusing his letters she never got them
It was a sugar cube, yes. The sugar cube was a common way to administer doses of the hallucinogenic drug LSD. It is distributed as a liquid, so you would place drops on sugar cubes and then sell the sugar cubes.
I must've dropped acid a few hundred times, and was a mule (before the term was even in use) for the Brotherhood of Eternal Love (read the great book Orange Sunshine for the deets) for several yrs, but never saw sugar cube acid! Double and single barrel pills, caps, and (blotter) paper, but no sugar for me...
@@fredkrissman6527 I know a girl who used to hang with some people when they were making cubes so she could lick the eyedropper when they were done. Normally in Wisconsin at least it was paper but she was from the North West side of the State.
Not surprised,@@douglascampbell9809. Eyedropper-like applicators were used for all mediums, such as pills and blotter (paper) too, and acid devotees were even more ubiquitous back in the day, so sucking on an the empty applicator not a surprise either! (We used to compete on licking the "edibles" prep bowl [and spoon!!!) after the canna-brownies were put in the oven.)
Are u joking,@@gdiaz8827?!? THOSE are "Moonies," who are followers of a S Korean charismatic leader that arranged all the disciples' marriages, etc. The Brotherhood was a bunch of acid taking, Afghani primo smoking surfers that made it their mission to manufacture and distribute very low cost LSD (buck a hit or less!) to the masses. Gotta read the book for a mindblowing depiction of their exploits. I wasn't a member (too young and distracted by my own pain); just a mule on the periphery that was taken care of a Brotherhood woman whose man had been jailed of fed charges...
Don't be so hard on yourself and the "production value" of your videos. No one knows everything about videography right out of the gate. Your videos will improve with time and experience. What you start with and what you have an abundance of is a love for movies, honesty and heart. Keep up the good work.
I could give a damn about the production value, I watch her because she's beautiful, on the inside. She feels so strongly that when she cries, she really cries. You can see her tears coming out in full force. No pretending, no holding that back, and I love that about her.
The feather goes wherever the wind blows. It is a metaphor for Forrest and Jenny's lives and life in general. --------- Your life can be directionless just blowing in the wind or a box of chocolates, where you enjoy the ups and downs along the journey. -------- The "winds" took them in very different directions but they somehow managed to find each other later in life and were able to be together. Even if it was just for a brief time.
A cute story I heard is Tom Hanks based his performance as adult Forrest on how the child actor who played young Forrest behaved. That's clever because it makes a complete character, and very heartwarming because he and the kid were a team and it made the kid look extra good, too. So many celebrities would let their ego get in the way, but Tom Hanks has a big reputation for being a nice guy.
The fact this movie can make my eyes swell with tears at different times in the movie, and every time I see it, is a testament to the genius in its storytelling and filmmaking. Great reaction!
You know .... watching you react is a great reminder that a kind open hearted people do exist ... it's incredibly beautiful to see someone so young having lived a lot and felt a lot in life ... your heart says it all. LOVE your reactions ;)))))
Your reaction to this video shows that you too have a beautiful and pure heart. I hope you never lose it you have so much ahead of you. Many tears came down my face just watching you and I'm an old dude. Free information the sugar cube was a psychedelic drug called acid. There were many references to U.S. history in this that you probably had to even be older to understand or at least to have experienced and grown up here
Most Medals Of Honor (60%) are given posthumously. I think Jenny truly loved Forrest from when she was little. The problem was Jenny didn't think she was good enough for Forrest. A common problem with people who were abused.
Oh stop.... Jenny was using Forrest and it's as simple as that. How much can you really love someone, and constantly show up in their life, and take from them - and leave them "high and dry" regardless of how it was hurting them?
@@cashscience This seems completely consistent with my experience with trauma survivors. The part of the movie that seemed unrealistic to me was that she magically gets her shit together when she has a kid.
Jenny was very tragic. She never truly experienced love from her family, the abuse at a young age warped her psychologically. Hence all of the abusive men and poor life decisions. Only Forrest loved her unconditionally and she didn't know how to accept it, she didn't believe she deserved pure love. She was only able to experience it in the last months of her life once she let her past go and let love lead her to peace. What an Amazing movie, and a great reaction! Yes Dasha, everyone should experience this film at least once. I've seen it multiple times, it's one of my all-time favorites.
@@BoB-th8wm you should read up on psychology a little bit my dude... jenny is showing very typical patterns of abuse victims... and if you think being sexually abused in early childhood like jenny - starting at the age of 5 when her mother died - and being bullied at school are on the same level something is very wrong with you in what world is someone calling you fat in school comparable to being sexually abused by your father regularly starting at the age of 5? and thats without saying how much harm "just" bullying can already do to a person..
Forrest Jr. was never his son. Jenny passed off a kid as Forrest's son to make him happy. While that may by a noble thing to do in the minds of a lot of people...Jenny was cucking Forrest. Her reckless promiscuity was accepted making Forrest think the kid was his. I figured it out the first time I saw the movie.
My Mom looked exactly like Sally Field when I was a kid, when this came out my friend and I thought she had a secret movie career. I also love that at the end, Lt. Dan refers to his legs being made out of what was used on the Space Shuttle...then Forrest and Lt. Dan were in Apollo 13 together. You're going to laugh and cry a lot love...and that's all I have to say about that.
Jenny is a very tragic broken character. She is running as far away from home as possible to find a place in this world. Since her childhood home is a nightmare for her. ---------In the end, going home gives her the one person that truly loves her. Forrest Gump. She fights it all her life. -------- Till she finally gives in and realizes that she should be with Forrest. --------- Many broken people go through this process of self-discovery. Often many don't live long enough to reach the journey.
@@shinrapresident7010 Lets not go that far. She's doing drugs and having promiscuous sex. She's not trying to enslave the world with the one ring at her command.
It's ironic that the person doing the physical running is Forest, but the one running away from everything in life was in fact, Jenny. Ever since her problems she just runs away from everything that scares her.
Omg your reaction to this movie was so perfect, so many people hate Jenny when they watch this, but you completely understood the deeper meaning and lessons we can all learn from this.... except the sugar part.... No, she wasn't expanding her mind with sugar 😁😂 but it just shows how sweet you are and makes you even more adorable. I've seen this movie a lot so it doesn't make me cry anymore, but your reactions were so genuine, and pure, and understanding and caring.... You made me cry a little bit more than once. You are a beautiful young woman with an even more beautiful heart. And I am not trying to be a creepy old man, I am merely speaking from my own heart that was touched by your sweet gentle nature and your sincere empathy for others problems.
Hi Dasha. I appreciate your reactions so much. You pick up on things and themes of the movies that so many reactors completely miss. you knew the "hippie peace signs"! So many young Americans don't even get that. I love your reactions, your sweet disposition, and I love your laugh so much. Thank you for your channel. I look forward to the next movie.
True, but not just the Army and not just during the Vietnam era. Dasha O.D. Green was the uniforms, called utilities or fatigues, they were wearing in that scene.
13:02 "You must be my FNGs." 😆 Okay. I don't know how many times I've seen this movie. I just now got this line. "FNG" is military slang. It stands for "F*ckin' New Guy."
That was the most beautiful reaction video of all time. You are so adorable. Absolutely classic and perfect reaction to a classic and perfect movie! :)
Another wonderful reaction, and don't worry about the sunlight.. it.. happens. I am glad you enjoyed the film, even if there were a few historical events that passed you by (such as the watergate hotel and scandal) but that's to be expected, it's not your history. But that is part of what makes you so charming to watch, this is western culture, and you are taking it at face value, rather than the cynicism many of us feel having grown up with it. It makes a refreshing change.
"Forrest, you don't know what love is." The saddest part of that statement is that it's actually Jenny who has a twisted view of "love" because of her abusive father. Forrest was raised in a loving home and learned what real love looks like, while abusiveness was normalized in Jenny. In reality, it's Jenny that doesn't know what love is.
22:43 this was the first movie to scare me based off of pure character alone. When Lieutenant Dan slam that bottle on the dresser and dramatically changes his voice it's such incredibe acting imo
Forrest "it started raining and didn't stop for 4 months" Dasha"sounds like Canada" me "what?" (counts on fingers) "march, April, May, June... yeah accurate actually"
Remember the day my older sister took me to the cinema for this movie it was a really good day. she perished in a car accident a few years ago and this film is a great help to remember the good times with her. Thx for the up with Forrest Gump the best movie ever.
I think Jenny originally didn't want to date Forest Gump because of his intelligence but, later she didn't want to marry him because she felt she was not good enough for him. She saw herself as dirty, unworthy, and saw Forest as a pure soul. She didn't want to corrupt him until she eventually made peace with herself and her past.
@@kingttx Im almost positive the virus she has with no cure is hepatitis but its been over a decade since i read the book so i dont quote me but it for sure isnt aids.
I'm glad you liked this one Dasha. I knew you would cry and say "Oh Shet!" And do all the other things you do that makes you reviews so special.... And I knew you would love it. Thank you for another great video. Keep em coming.
@ Dasha I love your beautiful spirit! You have such a warm and tender heart! Thank you for sharing with the world your reactions. You are Awesome (That means tremendously excellent, by the way).
Watching Dasha watch a great movie is more fun than watching the movie myself... I hope she (and her subscribers!) does a little more research on the various events depicted in the film, cuz she'd learn a great deal about American culture in the process!
Dasha, I always enjoy your reviews so much. Your heart is so pure, your emotions are so emphatic and well meaning. I do wish you the very best, you are such a kind and special person.
You understand Jenny really well. A lot of people get mad at her for some of the actions she took, but I totally understand her difficulties and so do you and I find that very refreshing. 💕
I often hesitate to watch reactions to this film & Saving Private Ryan for the same reasons, which is a character being misunderstood & judged with little to no empathy towards them. Jenny & Upham both seem to be harshly judged by many reactors & I usually find those reactions to be kind of depressing.
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 You really shouldn't let that get to you, because then you'd also be guilty of misunderstanding and judging people. Jenny was written to invoke those feelings, she plays the role of the main antagonist, most of the conflicts in the film revolve around her in some way. You're supposed to feel the punch in the gut when she leaves, when she does something disappointing. You're also supposed to feel sympathy for all the stuff she's been through, but it's not supposed to be all one way or the other. So to feel bad when someone goes after the character of Jenny, you should be taking issue with the way the film portrays her, because it's intentional.
Excellent reaction to the movie. I was crying with you the whole time. To answer a couple of questions you had during the reaction: 1) He doesn't have autism I believe. People with autism have a hard time making an emotional connection, or even looking into someone's eyes. It's just that he had a low IQ. 2) It doesn't say what Jenny has in the movie, but based on the time period, the state of medicine at that time, the severity of her condition, and the story of Jenny as a whole leads me to believe she had AIDS. Oh, and there's something you said at the end that enlightened me that I've always missed watching that movie: "He acted smart". That makes a whole new level of when he says, "Stupid is as stupid does." Thanks for helping me catch that.
Jenny very clearly has Hep-C, which was not understood at the time then either. However, she was able to get a small amount of help for her symptoms. During the "we don't know what this is" phase, the symptoms stemming from HIV were disgustingly called "GRID" ("Gay-related Immune Deficiency"), which made it easy for the Reagan Administration to withhold funding for research and/or treatment because "only" gay people would die.
@@bryanfox5457 Nah, her disease was clearly AIDS. The whole point of the move is to show the audience snippets of America's recent history, the most important and impactul moments. AIDS was THE disease of the 80s. Even I as a child, as early as 1991, was perfectly aware of it since it was represented in every TV show with young people in it. There was a constant campaign to prevent AIDS in all Western countries (that and anti drugs campaigns too). It doesn't matter if symptoms are not accurately represented in the movie, for the audience it's clearly meant to be AIDS.
I went to film school and I think that the sunlight on you during the last part of the movie was just ideal. It bathed you in a wonderful glow that matched the sentiments of the movie to perfection. I guess it shows us all that sometimes in the movies, as in life, mistakes can turn out to be blessings.
This is, hands down, my favorite film of all time. It literally has everything; comedy, drama, action, romance. Every time I watch Forrest reading that letter to Jenny, after she passed away brings me to tears. I've probably seen this film 50 or more times, and it still makes me laugh and cry.
This is a truly great movie and Tom Hanks and the remainder of the cast put on an amazing performance. One of the best things that came from it, however, is related to Gary Sinise (Lt. Dan). He received so much gratitude and acclaim from current and former military for his portrayal of a recovered veteran that he was inspired to form a band (The Lt. Dan Band) to entertain troops overseas. He also started the Gary Sinise Foundation to help veterans and made an honorary Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy about 10 years ago for his charitable work for the military.
Hey Vance, that must have been an Amazing experience to see Forrest Gump in theaters! Whenever I watch this movie, my experience is that it is SO engaging and well-acted that it feels like it is a quick watch even though the movie is almost 2 1/2 hours long. And despite it being a fictional story, I still find it to be very inspirational, and it has moments that I think most people can relate to on an emotional level. Also, my brother has Autism, which makes me connect with the movie even more (I know Forrest did not have Autism, but him and my brother can relate a bit in that they are both disabled). I actually posted a video on my channel back in February that is almost like a tribute video to Forrest Gump (though I called it a Mashup). You see, there's a band named Family Of The Year, and they used their hit song "Hero" for Richard Linklater's 2014 movie called Boyhood. For my video, I used "Hero" as background music while showing various scenes from Forrest Gump. Aside from matching song lyrics with movie scenes, my intention with the video was to try and create something unique. If you have someone like Dasha in your life and they tell you, with great sadness in their voice, that you’re a bad person, you’d better start rethinking the life choices you made and turn things around pronto. Thank you for another fantastic movie reaction.
For context, the coach of the football team is Paul “Bear” Bryant, who was a legendary coach with the University of Alabama. He also wears a houndtooth hat, a pattern that is still worn by the Alabama fans.
I enjoyed your reaction to this movie. I have difficulty watching portions of combat footage, well that is to say, I can’t watch most movies about war or that has combat footage. I served 21 years in the US Army spending much of that time being deployed in various combat theaters of operations. His statement “that is all I’ve got to say about that” is how most all of us feel about our time serving in war zones. I’m glad you enjoyed this condensed version of American history. I was alive during almost all of these events. The fact that two people from very different upbringings was able to unite and Jenny was able to turn her life around and find the peace she was always looking for while running away all those years, only to find it by returning to the very place she ran from and the man who always kept her in his heart. That is really a lesson in life we can all learn from. Instead of continuing to run from our past, returning to where it started, learning to embrace it and forgive our selfs so we can forgive others and live in peace within our hearts.
I truly loved your reaction! This movie taught me many things. To never give up on finding true love and to make new friendships. Be truthful, honest and kind to all no matter what ethnicity they are… Forrest speaking to Jenny’s grave was truly heartbreaking! 🤗🤧😭

Well damnit, I wasn't trying to cry today, but here we are. This movie always gets to me, and you're reaction on top of that was too much. So I guess we're both crying now.
Forrest Gump is one of my all-time favorite movies. A beautiful story with great characters. Forrest and Jenny, living two very different lives, destined to be together at the end. On the one hand you have Forrest, an open soul, pure of heart (to Jenny) who lets life happen to him. On the other hand, there is Jenny, a troubled soul, running away from her past and trying to make life happen. The last scene between Forrest and Jenny is the best scene of the movie. Jenny taps Forrest with her hand asks "Hey Forrest, were you scared in Vietnam?" Jenny is on her death bed, scared of what is to come and is looking to Forrest for solace since he too faced death while in Vietnam. Forrest replies “Yes...well...I don’t know...” and then starts to describe some of the beautiful experiences in his life...the sun setting on the Bayou, the crystal-clear mountain lake, desert sunrise, etc. The camera pans to Forrest whose eyes are looking away while he was recalling these moments. Then it pans over to Jenny. She too is looking away. She is remembering her life, regretting some if not many of her choices. You can tell this because, while still looking away, she says to Forrest “I wish I could have been there with you.” Forrest’s eyes focus back on Jenny and he says “You were.” She quickly brings her eyes back to him, smiles, reaches out for his hand, thinks for a moment, smiles again and then says, with a look of absolute certainty, “I love you.” At this moment, Jenny knows she is exactly where she was meant to be. She is no longer afraid.
Wow Johnny, I could not have said that better myself! Well done! Regarding that scene between Jenny and Forrest on Jenny's death bed, you make a good case for it being the best scene in Forrest Gump! I could picture all the little details of the scene as you were describing it. Overall, I just find this movie to be very inspirational, and I quote it all time! Also, my brother has Autism, which makes me connect with the movie even more (I know Forrest did not have Autism, but him and my brother can relate a bit in that they are both disabled). The saddest part of the movie to me (and also the BEST delivered line in all of film history in my opinion) is when Forrest meets his son and asks Jenny, "Is he smart or is he-....". That scene makes me cry more than any other and breaks me down emotionally. The fact that he is so self aware and knowing that if little Forrest is seen as stupid or different he will have a rough upbringing like Forrest did is SO sad. Tom Hanks delivers that line so well with the tears too and when Jenny says hes the smartest in his class you can see Forrest's relived face and tears of happiness that he WONT end up being picked on all his life. Oh and the scene towards the end when Forrest is talking to Jenny at her grave. Tom Hanks during that monologue is SO fantastic; the way he encapsulates who Forrest Gump is throughout this movie. Forrest Gump played by Tom Hanks is my favorite character of any movie, tv show, anything in all of cinema.
Hey Neck, I really like your comment here! It is very well articulated! Whenever I watch Forrest Gump, my experience with this movie is that it is SO engaging and well-acted that it feels like it is a quick watch even though the movie is almost 2 1/2 hours long. And despite it being a fictional story, I still find it to be very inspirational, and it has moments that I think most people can relate to on an emotional level. Also, my brother has Autism, which helps me connect with the movie even more (I know Forrest did not have Autism, but him and my brother can relate a bit in that they are both disabled). This film is a sort of "crash course" in American history from the 50s into the late 80s, and is a great way to get a sense of all those different moments in time.
American popular culture
@@Logan_Baron that's why I said "a sort of"
Not a history lesson so much as an exercise in nostalgia.

I'm gonna be the same way when/if I have kids
Pretty much every reactor I have seen, either cries or is very obviously moved by that scene. If that scene doesn't get you, you have no heart.
That scene breaks me every single time watch it.
The question we always want to ask::
"Is Little Forest really his ... or did Jenny just give her kid a 'good home' ..."
I could totally be wrong but I've seen something similar posted on another review but I think they said it was in the book.
Well, it can't have been that, at least not verbatim. It sounds like the speach begins with "You're" or "Your", or something like that, but definitely not "Sometimes".
not particularly poniant

The beautiful thing about Dasha is she is moved to emotion about things that should move us all.
One of my favorite moments is how Forrest doesn't know much, but he knows enough to buy that property and bulldoze that house to the ground.
I think the people who hate on Jenny like to gloss over her childhood.
This and the bulldozer are so impactful to me.
That scene is the perfect summary, so to speak.
"I tell ya what, the day you're a shrimp boat captain is the day I become an astronaut!"

I can't believe I still learn new things about this film all the time. I recently found out about the scene with Forrest leaving Jenny's grave, a flock of birds fly away from the grave. For years I never realized that was a symbol for Jenny's life long wish - to be able to fly away.

It was all the letters Forrest wrote to Jenny, returned unread without being opened. There were post office stamps on them that said undeliverable.
The wind took it, but at the same time it was meaningful and it was always destined to land on Forrest’s shoe.
A cute story I heard is Tom Hanks based his performance as adult Forrest on how the child actor who played young Forrest behaved.
That's clever because it makes a complete character, and very heartwarming because he and the kid were a team and it made the kid look extra good, too.

Excellent reaction to the movie. I was crying with you the whole time. To answer a couple of questions you had during the reaction:
1) He doesn't have autism I believe.
He also started the Gary Sinise Foundation to help veterans and made an honorary Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy about 10 years ago for his charitable work for the military.

I've watched a few of your reactions and this is your best. This was very nice and I thank you for your work.
If you have someone like Dasha in your life and they tell you, with great sadness in their voice, that you’re a bad person, you’d better start rethinking the life choices you made and turn things around pronto. Thank you for another fantastic movie reaction.
For sure... she feels so deeply and without artifice. I would take whatever she has to say as sincere and well considered.
My heart broke when he said is he smart or is he like me
For context, the coach of the football team is Paul “Bear” Bryant, who was a legendary coach with the University of Alabama. He also wears a houndtooth hat, a pattern that is still worn by the Alabama fans.
Fun Fact:
The actor who played Paul "Bear" Bryant in this movie is none other than Sonny Shroyer, AKA Deputy Enos Strait from "The Dukes Of Hazzard"
You are missing tons of the references ... and the film is still brilliant. Just awesome. Tom Hanks is a national treasure.
That was such a beautiful & heartfelt reaction. You’re clearly a very sensitive & beautiful lady🙏🏽❤️🙂
I truly loved your reaction! This movie taught me many things. To never give up on finding true love and to make new friendships. Be truthful, honest and kind to all no matter what ethnicity they are… Forrest speaking to Jenny’s grave was truly heartbreaking! 🤗🤧😭
Hey Christian, I really like your comment here! I think that is awesome that Forrest Gump was able to inspire/motivate you in your own life! Forrest Gump had such a pure heart, and he showed the upmost loyalty to those closest to him. I think that is something we can all admire and try to apply in our own lives! Overall, I just find this movie to be very unique, and I quote it all the time too!

Well damnit, I wasn't trying to cry today, but here we are. This movie always gets to me, and you're reaction on top of that was too much. So I guess we're both crying now.
When he's at the hotel seeing people with flashlights it was about the Watergate scandal that eventually led to Nixon stepping down.
Dasha, I loved watching your reaction to this movie! You did a great job!

Great video! I love your innocence and the outlook that you have. Im happy to know that there is still hope in this crazy world! Keep up the great work that you do!
A classic! You can find every emotion possible in this movie, it's what makes it so good.
I didn't see it in the comment, so in case no one mentioned it OD Green stands for Olive Drab Green. It's just the name of the green uniform they wore. Great reaction as usual! Keep them coming and we'll keep watching!!
Fun fact: Gary Sinece (not sure I spelled that right) talked to Veterans who lost their legs in combat to prepare for the role of Lt. Dan. Talking to them moved Gary so much he start a foundation to help wounded Veterans and tours the world doing USO tours with his band, The Lt Dan Band!! He does a lot for US Veterans after this role!
The music in this one is really iconic as well! One of the best movie soundtracks, IMO 😄. When you get to Guardians of the Galaxy in your MCU journey, that’s another “awesome “ soundtrack 🙌 🎶
This is the kind of love everyone dreams of having in there life. Unconditional and pure. Wonderful reaction. We are all the same deep down in our hearts...We want to love and be loved. Thank You!
She is such an adorable soul lol I know I’m probably gonna get called a simp but I don’t care she just seems like such a lovely person.❤️
People misuse simp for the purpose of calling out people who are just being nice all the time unfortunately, so I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s one of those words that’s lost all meaning. But rest assured there’s nothing wrong with your comment.
Those people are nothing but dogshit. Pay them no mind.
@@jeremyfrost2636 mate that is so true, it’s sad nowadays that you can’t even call someone a nice person without getting called a pervert lol like I get it if your constantly talking about people’s looks but seriously give the word “simp” a rest.p.s thanks for understanding me.
@@joshtt3240 As someone who's been on the receiving end of exactly what you were talking about, it'd be extremely difficult not to understand you. I am definitely capable of misunderstanding, but this one was easy to figure out mate.
Watching your reaction was so wholesome, this is a great movie. And it's nice to see a first time viewer
Hi Dasha. Just found your channel and so far have watched your reactions to Private Ryan and Forrest Gump. Your reactions are a joy to see as you seem to be a very kind and caring person. Thank you for that :) Forrest's son is also in another movie that was great, if you like suspenseful scary movies. It is called the 6th Sense.
Great reaction Dasha, and your laugh is infectious! :-D
One of my favorite DVD's. This is Tom Hanks at his best. Jenny was expanding her mind her with a sugar cube that was laced with LSD. ✌❤🌹
Tom Hank’s is one of the best he puts everything into his parts and is a true genius talent ❤❤
Hey Patsy Hay! Tom Hanks has to be one of the best actors of all time. He's Very talented! I also love Tom Hank's performances in Saving Private Ryan and The Green Mile! As far as Forrest Gump goes, I just find this movie to be very Inspirational and Personally, I often connect with this movie because my brother actually has Autism (So Forrest and my brother can relate a bit since they are both disabled).

This movie was a synopsis of American events from the 60’s to 2000.
Keep watching and sharing your perspective.
50s to 90s
You mean the 90’s not 2000’s.
Second movie with you and I picked a favorite, but you have many great ones to choose from. I am so glad I found your channel today. Sending love to you and yours from Orlando Florida, USA. 0:31

Dasha, in your appreciation for Tom Hanks I am surprised you haven't watched the movie "Castaway" yet. You'll love the the determination and struggle that his character portraits in that incredible movie as well. Love watching your movie reactions, you definitely have a beautiful and hopeful outlook that we all appreciate. Much respect.
