- Hi Guys,
This is the Black Widow exhaust I ordered for my bike. I managed to get this system directly from their website www.blackwidowe... which is a FULL system (not just the slip on) for £350 quid. Everything you see that comes out the box was 350 quid!!! This to me knocks the likes of Scorpion, Akra etc right out the park

Judging by the shape of the pipe and the fact that you own a yamaha already I'm guessing MT-09 and if I'm right then needless to say I highly aprove as you can probably tell by my profile picture lol. That can looks sweet too.

Hi im just about to order this exhaust but i want a genuine opinion if whether its too loud or not. I do a lot of 2 up pleasure rides

I think the 300mm is less noisy but they dont do a slash cut in 300mm
Barnsley Bitter with the baffle in its not bad. I think it would bug you after a while. I had cruisers previously and it's quieter than the custom pipes I had on them. I've got another video on my channel to give you an idea of the sound. See my reveal video of the MT. It's an awesome system and it's a good bit louder than the akrapovic with the baffle in on both the akrapovic and the black widow. I can't hear my mates bike over mine. You could always get the full system and if you find its too loud then you could get another slip on from black widow down the line. As they are not super pricey
Thanks for that. I think it makes sense go for the 300 but then I worried that that might be too loud also LOL but 350 and 400 just don't look right

I would say no it's not too loud...Gesto has one on his bike and it's a lovely rumble. We do really long distances and it's been absolutely fab. We do wear earplugs though ..

I emailed them and asked them. They manufacture in China and repack them here and distribute them. They stick the Union Jack all over the stuff and I started to wonder how they can make it in the UK for such a low price, hence I thought I'd ask. Nowhere does it state 'Made in the UK', so they're not deceiving anyone but there is an argument for them being misleading. I also asked them if they're dyno tested and the response was 'not currently', which I find astonishing. Hate to say it but it seems 'you get what you pay for' still rings true.
Big T meh no point in dynoing them. I'm happy enough with them without a dyno. I had a scorpion pipe that wasn't dynod for my last bike and had absolutely no dyno results to go on anywhere. Yet that was a fucking costly bit of kit. I'm sure someone out there with one (BW or scorp etc) has had their bike dynod though. The bikes do have a lambda sensor so adjust air / fuel automatically anyway. Dyno is just a way of reassuring its running right and tuned right. Look at the akra. Designed and dynod with the bike in mind but in reality every bike is different. I emailed BW last week, as did a fellow mt09er on their Facebook group funnily enough on the issue of 'being UK made' We got a different answer from you. The vast majority of the pipes out there are probably Chinese made anyway. I don't believe for a minute akra is made by someone sitting in a wee workshop somewhere in Slovenia. They've probably outsourced yet have the audacity to charge over a grand for a system. It's the people out there that are buying 130-80 quid systems (from China) and have the cheek to sell them on for 300+ quid that gets on my tits.
well this is interesting, I rang Black Widow to enquire about stock and also asked where they were manufactured and I was told that all exhausts are made in the UK. I asked him if he was sure he said yes they only manufacturer in the UK now as they have had too many quality control issues with Chinese suppliers. So maybe they are British made after all?
Big T interesting.... I was dealing with the director for a few months after I bought the exhaust. Cracking guy. I'm all for supporting businesses here. It's a dog eat dog World out there man. You decided what you're going for? Got your heart set on anything?
