Thanks I had just started jogging 4-5 days back. The pain was as increasing gradually since 2 days back & today I was hardly able to back. I had my first session of exercises & this worked like magic. 80-90% of pain is gone.
Many thanks for sharing this video.

Robert what advice do you have that would help? I used the cross fiber technique and stretches and it has help relieve pain but as I said this has been an ongoing issue since I was in my teens. An accident in my 20's injured my left foot I was told it was soft tissue injury but it has become chronic pain problem for me.

@@ambarshukla4389 Hi there. It's been a long time since I used this technique. I have to say I've lost 70 lb., so that has helped. When I have a flare up ithat is when I use this technique to try and heal it but it's a chronic condition for me. I was told by a surgeon about 10 years ago my foot would resolve itself if I just lost weight. That was laughable as the pain in my foot is hear to stay and Achilles Tendonitis flare-ups are going to happen. So try it it may bring you at least a little relief I know how painful it is so sending you healing light.

I'm definitely going to try out these techniques to see if the help. Thank you!

Thank you for the advice. I also added the rolling pin treatment from the calf to the achilles tendon. I have performed this treatment 3 times today, and I am able to ambulate much better. My rt calf for some reason is noticeably larger than my left. I assume I must have been compensating somehow on my injured side to work the calf muscle more than the left calf muscle. Meet with PT on Friday for an assessment. Refused a cortisone shot as I understand more bad can come than good. I read somewhere where the cortisone can shrink the adipose pad of your heel placing more stress on the calcaneus. Thanks again. Steve

I paid for 7 physical therapy sessions so far. They barely worked. I searched you tube for exercises, iced, stretched, messaged, and heated, and my ankle feels better than it did for $50 dollars a session with the therapists. Also, you need ti stretch out all out the legs, strengthen the knees, and work up to your hips. All of that works together.

Praise and a question. I just wanted to say thanks for the video. I've watched countless videos and seen a handful of doctors that didn't understand my heel pain at the base of the tendon. During those visits, we found a heel spur protruding into the tendon and hoped that was the cause of pain in that foot. While removing it relieved the pain somewhat, it didn't stop it. This seems to be helping immensely.
I also have pain about 4 inches above my ankle on the outside of the calf. It is especially painful if I roll my foot outward (rolling my arch off of the ground) Self diagnosis is that this is the soleus muscle/pressure point. Aside from a golf ball/rolling pin massage on the area, what else could I do to help relieve that pain? I prefer to refrain from anti-inflammatory meds if at all possible.

Thanks for this, I've had extreme pulling pain, especially in my left heel, for about 5 months now. It's gotten progressively worse. I can't push off with my feet anymore, so I'm walking completely flat footed with no pushing motion. I've tried stretching my calf muscle, but it's excruciatingly painful. I'm also naturally extremely flat footed to begin with, so that doesn't help. I hope this helps, I don't want to go to a doctor for this. 😞

We can heal ourselves better than injections and surgeries ever can. Good luck!

I have a lump on the back of mine, and it's been there since I first injured it, a year ago. A bit smaller than it was, but still pretty big. I also have bursitis on the side in the same heel, and plantar fasciitis. Is it safe to do the massage with the lump in there? I'm assuming it's damaged tissue that the body just isn't clearing out.

I've got 3 steroid injections and laser tharepy + ultrasonic wave tharepy in military hospital, cupping tharepy + accupressure after that and electro accupuncure finally. Many times i felt the pain reduced, i did the same massage which you're teaching on my own, but nothing has worked yet. My pain comes again and again. I feel hopeless as i have not done running for 6 months and gone fat bcz of that. I really don't know what to do..... 😞😞😞☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️😔

Help, 60 yrs old, competitive VB 2x wk, gradually over last 2 yrs, now, constant swelling/soreness at bone attachment. NOT giving up ball. Wear sandals all day for work. Job requires constant stretching of tendon. Should I change day shoes? Is there a brace to help when I play? Other suggestions other than massage and stretching?

Hi. Yesterday, I injured my Achilles tendon while pulling a large, wheeled cambro drink container behind me and it caught me on the back of my left achilles. There was a sharp pain but I didn't hear or feel a pop. Initially, there was only redness and I was able to walk so I just let it go; however, when I arrived home from work, there was bruising, swelling, and the injury was tender to touch. I have no problem walking and I can even run but probably not for an extended period. While lying prone and having someone squeeze my calf while my lower leg is hanging off my bed, my foot does flex so I don't think the tendon is ruptured. I have been treating it at home with the R.I.C.E. method so far and am looking into stretches and exercises I can start in a few days once swelling goes down. I only feel pain when I dorsiflex my foot about to the end of my normal ROM and also when I try to stand on my toes using only my injured leg. Because I'm still pretty mobile, would you recommend just pursuing at home treatment and exercises or would you recommend me visiting a physician and/or PT directly for professional consultation? Thank you for any advice.

Hi, I am planning to start my HM training from Monday. I ran my first long distance on 3rd May and covered 8.5 kms post which I started having this pain at the back of my heel where the tendon stretches. I tried stair toe lifts and didnt run for the entire week. I feel much better but the blunt pain is still there if I press that part. Can i start running again from Monday? I believe the culprit was my merrell shoes as I was running on tar roads. Pl help
