    I’m with ya! I’ve had plan a b c since I was 17. I learned the hard way fast. Went to bed hungry too many times. Eggs and oatmeal saved me.

    I love how detailed your list is! It may be time consuming initially but it saves time and money in the long run.

      Thank you! I do almost everything on a spreadsheet and you are right, it's time consuming. I've kept track of some weird things over the years--food, utility costs etc. but in the end it is saving us money. Suddenly all the things that made me look weird to friends is paying off lol. Thanks so much for watching my video and taking the time to leave a kind comment.🍂

    Always excited when you release a new monthly budget video. These are so helpful and motivating. Thank you for thinking out loud as you go through your thought process. That really helps to build the frugal muscles to get stronger. Thank you for the time you spend to make these with your follow-up shops and haul. It really helps to see the whole picture and then the meals you create to use and stretch what was purchased. ❤ Great job!

    Obviously, youve got this down. Its just me and my husband now. We split every meal. Ot works for us, because we never seem to eat the leftovers. I like how organized you are🎉 We also dont eat out. I guess it helps im on Monjauro, so i eat very sparingly.

      Thank you. I think there is still work to do on my budget, but it is way better than it used to be. Our food budget would look a lot different if I had a bigger appetite and/or could eat everything without issue. I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching my video and for taking the time to leave me a comment. Have a great week!🍂

    great job..just hubby and myself..our groceries including non-edible items has a budget of 400.00-450.00 per month and fuel budget is 80.00 a month..only need to go in town as needed we don't have to drive to a job anymore..ot of months we don't use it all.
    i cook just what we will eat for supper,but occasionally there might be enough for a lunch. lunch is usually a sandwich
    i keep our meals simple and easy

    I cook for one. I have a medium sized refrigerator. The only freezer is in the top and it is full. I have a pantry I am trying to eat through which I will be restocking slowly. I found there were things such as crackers, processed soup I just did not need to buy so once those are used up or tossed ( they can not be donated if past the best use date), I will no longer waste money buying them ever again. When I do use them, I incorporate them into other meals so I don't just toss them.
    Eggs, Cottage Cheese, other Cheeses, Tofu are in addition to beans inexpensive sources of protein when compared to steak, roasts, other meats
    I am glad to find a new frugal channel and hope to learn alot.

      Welcome and thanks for being here! Yes, I've learned that lesson too, about buying things for my pantry and discovering that I'm never going to eat them. Eggs are my main source of protein as I do not eat red meat and cannot eat soy or beans. Adding a good source of protein to my diet has really helped me a lot. I appreciate you watching my video and I hope that you find my other videos helpful. Thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment on how you are saving money. Have a great week !🍁

    I have a Berkey...had no idea they weren't selling filters at this time until I was watching your video. I stopped and read up on that and there is another company who is selling EPA compliant filters I believe. you'll lfind them online. (great video btw!)

      I'm going to go and check that out, because we need new filters. There is a ceramic water filter system named Walter, but I'd need to save awhile to afford that one. Thanks for watching my video and taking time to leave such a helpful comment.🌻

    You are very organized, lots of detail! Just curious, by skipping lunch do you find that you need a heavy snack in the afternoon? I am currently trying to reduce my portions at each meal and sometimes I get very hungry, but it appears to be helping with some of my gut issues. Thanks!

    • @shopcookeatwi
      @shopcookeatwi  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hello! It might take your body a bit to get used to it if you've never skipped lunch. I've never eaten lunch and for many years I didn't eat breakfast. I was in pretty bad health--though a person may never have know it by looking at me 20 years ago. If I don't eat carbs for breakfast then skipping lunch is not an issue. If I do get hungry, I always eat something that I feel is nutritious--banana or an apple. If that doesn't help, I'll try a cheese stick. The proteins that I choose for my diet, like salmon and tuna, have helped my gut immensely. Both are known to calm inflammation and improve gut health. I, too, feel better gut-wise when I skip a meal. That said, I usually choose to eat smaller portions and avoid food triggers because I need the fuel food provides. Thank you so much for watching my video and also for letting me know what's working for you. Have a great week!🍂

    It's my understanding that potatoes shouldn't be stored in the fridge.

    • @shopcookeatwi
      @shopcookeatwi  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think it's one of those things that if you do--cool and if you don't--no problem. I've kept potatoes in the refrigerator for 42 years--since I started keeping house at 18 and have never found an issue doing so. Too cold and they will shrivel and too warm and they will sprout. I guess my refrigerator must be just right because I've never had either one of these things happen. There are as many sites that say it's safe and necessary as there are sites that say it's not necessary. Thanks for watching my video and taking the time to leave a comment. Have a great week!
