Im also Puerto Rican (New Yorican) and my husband Of 10 years is Brazilian, and it makes my son Brazilrican 😂 We have many similarities and a lot of differences. We are a happy mixed home. I love going to Brazil and he loves going to PR.
We both love beans and good music 😂 I wouldnt trade my Carioca for no one in the world.
I'm also Puerto Rican and my husband's of 2 years is Brazilian too. You soo right theres soo many similarities. We are opposite hes serious quite and very chill and I'm more of a talker and happy person but we make it work. I havnt yet visit Brazil and I can not wait.
I just started dating a Brazilian. He doesn’t speak much English, and I don’t speak any Portuguese. But we just really like each other. Besides, we don’t need to talk much. 😉

The best things I have learned is learning how to cook there food. Its soo good.
pão de queijo, feijão, pastel de quijo. lasanha de frango and bolo moca ect. I also enjoy speaking the language because its more mellow than ours. Puerto Rican tends to be a bit loud when we speak. I just like they are soo happy mellow and chilled.

My ex boyfriend is a brazillian too , im a filipina and we met in japan.. at first i feel that his too good for me, i feel that he is so inlove with me, he also keeps supporting me on my needs... and then i came back to philippines but we still have communication as in every day call and messages,maybe after 2 months he said that he found another girl in japan.. and that i need to forget about him...
It was sad really sad but i understand that we are not for each other. First, communication is also a problem , 2nd its LDR and also he is kinda possessive... 😔
But i moved on and let go. And let God guide us 💕🙏🏻
Had a similar experience. First month i was treated like the most beautiful girl in the world. Then it just chanjed. He was polite but became very distant. So miss it but have to move on.

Brazilian male here. On our cultural aspect brazilian men tend to be more down to earth when it comes to relationship. If a possibility of you been together again become difficult to happen, a man won't leave you day after he travels back to another country. It's considered heartless or insensitive not to cope neither display responsibility with someone's emotions. But here there's a saying "time heals everything", so in order to end this in a good way he kept in touch, probably felt broken heart for a while but he knew soon or later both of you is expected to move on with your lives. It's just make easier for both to deal with the whole situation.

Spanish is definitely easier for Portuguese speakers to understand than the other way around 😅

YEah can people stop assuming Latin languages are similar now lol . Portuguese is so different than Spanish and my god Italian is NOT that similar to Spanish either lol. Yes samba is hard. I was a professional Latin and ballroom dancer and authentic samba is hard as hell .
The most interesting thing is that we Brazilians and the Portuguese understand Spanish a lot. The opposite does not happen. Because I think it is due to the amount of sounds that exist in the Portuguese language that it is not found in other languages of Latin origin, such as Spanish and Italian. Hugs from Brazil.

I agree with the samba lol. I taught zumba for 3 years and did ballet. I learned salsa merengue raggaeton and Cumbria just be a fan of selena for years. When I watch these people samba on TH-cam at carnival because I wanted to learn my feet said nope 🙅🏻

I'm Brazilian, and I wished I was puerto rican hahaha, I love puerto rican culture, the language I love how u guys sound, I used to live in American in Waltham, MA and most of my friends from there was mostly puertoricans, I have almost like 50 cds of reggaeton... I wished I could go visit PR sometime! so glad to hear that u came to my country and learn all those things... I'm from Salvador, Bahia, u should come visit anytime soon, u would love our culture here we have this tradition food called Acarajé you really need to try it, it's made of beans and it's fried and we have caruru vatapa that goes with this food... I'm sure you would love it!

1)Portuguese and Spanish are different from each other,but we understand most of the conversation when Hispanics don't speak quickly(like Caribbeans,Chileans and Andalusians do).
2) Samba is different from other Afro-Latin rhythms,but those who dance salsa and merengue have an advantage when compared to those who don't dance these rhythms
3)The coolest thing about the state of Espírito Santo is precisely the strength of not being a state invaded by tourists.My maternal family is from there.
4)Come back to Brazil more often.

Natalia Garcia, hahaha... you're cracked me up... Porto-Spanhol... and that Samba thing, O Meu Dios.. foot and brain not working together, but let me not forget to thank you for your warning about Espirito Santo not being a 'tourist spot'. I've been going to Brazil since 2001 almost every year, sometimes during these years twice a year... when I am in Brazil, it's always for a month or more from Nov thru to the end of Dec and for several years, I have returned for Carnival. I have never been to Vila Velha or Vitoria in Espirito Santo, I just always skipped over it, but my preference always starts with Rio de Janerio. I love Rio and São Paulo, since they are my one and two choice cities, but also I enjoy visiting Salvador, Maceio and Recife. While I have never been to Fortelaza, São Luis, Belem or Manaus... I hope to visit these cities in the Northeast of Brazil on my next trip... after Covid end there.
But I've got to tell you that I relate personally to several of your stories as they are similar to my experience from my first trip to Brazil beginning in Rio... I met this hottie Brasileira and we went out for diner and dancing... and you know what happened next: Live Music and a Samba was played... well not having seen Samba danced Babegirl started to Samba and my thinking was all I had to do was watch her feet and do what she did and that would get through it... well soon a crowd formed around us and several other couples dancing... I was blissfully ignorant until later when I saw a man dance Samba with a woman... that's when I learned how badly I made a fool of myself doing her 'National Dance'... and like you, I can dance also. My friend was cool and graceous in that she never embarrassed me with how I danced... and we continued to hang out together for the rest of my stay in Rio... but today I can Samba, because that was never going to happen to me again...
Natalia... eu falo Português, em fato muito bom... prá quase 15 anõs e também, eu falo Espanhol. I remember on my first trip to Brazil, I thought that because I could speak Spanish that it would help me to understand the Brazilians knowing that they speak Português, nooope, nem um poco! But you are so right... not only that, hablantes Espanoles no son listo para El Português como que se está pronunciada. And Second, there is a whole other thing going on with prefered word choice to express the same or similar ideas as with Spanish. I had to completely retrain myself to speak in 'Puro Português' by not speaking in Spanish for 2 years; because at first, I could not separate those two languages in my head.
In reality as spoken, El Idioma de Portugués is a completely different language in spite of the fact that they shares many of the same words with the Spanish... but from my experience in the beginning learning the language and now that I speak Portugués, I just love this language, as well as my capacity to speak it with elegance. O Português is a beautiful language, beautiful to speak and beautiful to listen to spoken and for me, there is nothing more sexy than a Brazilian Woman speaking em a língua Português. But not just the women who speak it, but also the Men as well and in my experience Brazilian Men are pretty cool. But to turn the page to Brazilian Culture, let me say that I adore this Culture and regarding the food principly Churrasco and other delicias, they are just great if you've never had them. Speaking about Moqueca, I like it also as well, but I am passionate for Acarajé. Both foods are big in Salvador da Bahia and in Receife do Pernambuco. But for me, I am super passionate for Feijoada, the National Dish of Brazil.
Natalia, I will check out your other videos... do another about your experience with your Brasileiro and in Brazil, and of course your experience with the Brazilian People. I find the Brazilian People to be extremely inviting, expecially toward Americans. I hope you'll get to see several other cities. especially Rio de Janerio and São Paulo... but to me, Maceio has the most beautiful beach and water I have seen in Brazil... yet if and when I journy further North in Brazil to João Pessoa, Fortelaza, São Luis and Belem; trust me, perhaps that appraisal may change.
