Ohio Star!! My favorite block. And in my favorite colors! Your son is correct. It doesn't matter. Other people just notice the beauty. Not what "we" would consider a mistake.
Oh my goodness! Your son! He’s right! I love that he said, “So.” I love that you asked if he is lying. 😂 This quilt is amazing! That netting piecing that you do-I am so jealous! I can never get it to work. Great video!
It’s so true no one else knows the vision we had in our minds eye, when the quilt is done all they see is a beautiful quilt. 💕Letting go of those little things can actually be freeing. When someone else complements you on your work just take pride and humbly say Thank you. Doing this instead of stating all the things you you aren’t happy with allows the positive energy to come through and will increase your confidence💗
This is a nice project. The Ohio Star was one of the first blocks I ever made and I like the twist using three colors instead of two. The medium block does add a little more dimension. The color choice is so pretty too!
This is a great tutorial. I love that you don’t assume anything. I have had diagonal seam tape for ages but never really had it explained properly. You’re sewing machine/ pressing and cut areas are really well set out too. Beautiful work ❤️🧵🪡
Loved the ending- I vote with your son: So????? lol- but I also totally get where you are coming from. I often get hung up on finding the ‘perfect’ balance for the top…and it likely does not matter to anyone near as much as I think it matters. I have been enjoying the quilt the entire time you had it displayed and I didn’t notice until it was pointed out. Beautiful outcome!!
I just found your channel today and this is my first video of yours that I've watched. I enjoyed it so much and look forward to seeing more. Loved the conversation you had with your son! I would have been tempted to get out the seam ripper but he's right! No one will notice that. There's so much going on the quilt is just lovely.
Thank you so much! I was really considering fixing it but goodness this quilt has been in progress for so long I feel like I should move forward with finishing it! He really is right too!
I love how this turned out- the sashing made all the difference! Your son is absolutely correct - nobody would notice or care because the overall effect is stunning.
Thank you! I really love that I took the time to figure this out. I think if I went with the darker sashing it would have been ok. But I think this works better.
Beautiful, I especially like the thin sashing, it really sets the squares off 0:33 so nicely with the bright white against the multiple other white colors.
The top looks amazing. You gave me some inspiration to finish a pain in the rear disappearing 4 patch made with white on white and Kaffee charm packs. I do think I'll lay I out on a solid(ish) fabric with the thin sashing, like yours, and see if it inspires me to finish it!!! P.S. your son is awesome! We are our own worst critics🙃
This turned out beautiful. The lighter thinner sashing was the right choice. 😊 When I choose the fabric for sashing I pin the whole cloth to my design wall and put the blocks on it. So I also can easily decide how wide it should be.
I love the fabric. The lighter sashing looks great. I was thinking about a red, but I doubt it would look as nice as the white. Suggestion: When you make a quilt block, it may be more helpful to new sewers to refer to the parts of the block as sectioms or segments rather than blocks. This will make a stunning finished quilt!
I love that quilt It is so pretty. I work with a lot of stars and reds, whites, off whites and blues for vet quilts. I love seeing other people's ideas come together and other people's points of view. Your son is a great encouragement to you, listen to your boy mama, lol.
You are so welcome! I have only used wider sashing too, but I didn't love the look of the blocks being so far apart! I kept making the sashing thinner and thinner to test! I will probably do this more often now!
Just saw this on TH-cam. Thats amazing ruler. Never saw before. Very interested in 4.5 and 6.5, maybe others. Do you have tutorial on this type of ruler. Never ever imagined anything like this. Love the red. Love the pattern and your quilt. On my list to do now❤❤❤😂
I just started quilting 2 months ago, after years of saying “I’m gonna try that.” Fell in love with every star pattern I’ve ever seen. Yesterday I ordered yardage in these colors because they were on sale, but hadn’t decided on a pattern yet. NOW I know! I missed how wide the narrow sashing is… looks like about 1” finished, is that correct? Such a great look!
Nice choice with the skinny white sashing, the blocks do stand out better. I found lately I draw out and color my design on paper. Then when I put the rows together I can make sure they are correct and I mark them off.
What a beautiful quilt top, love the different shades of red which is my favorite color... What size is each block? Thanks for this wonderful tutorial.
Ohio Star!! My favorite block. And in my favorite colors! Your son is correct. It doesn't matter. Other people just notice the beauty. Not what "we" would consider a mistake.
I try to remind myself that these little "mistakes" dont matter but it can be hard sometimes! I am glad he was upstairs when I noticed it!
Oh my goodness! Your son! He’s right! I love that he said, “So.” I love that you asked if he is lying. 😂
This quilt is amazing! That netting piecing that you do-I am so jealous! I can never get it to work. Great video!
I liked his loooong pause after I asked if he was lying! He is probably thinking "I just came to ask if you would order pizza" lol.

That came out fabulous Fallon! Your son got it right. If you can’t see it from 50 yards on the back of a galloping horse, it doesn’t matter.😊
It’s so true!

Agree completely. It always amazes me, that just a “tweak”, will make a beautiful quilt.
Ends up beautiful...and your son sounds like my husband. Nobody but you would see it and it's absolutely beautiful

I loved his soooo! we really need to hear that sometimes!
I love your red Ohio star! Beautiful!
Thank you!
I grabbed a few screen shots including the measurements - I like this block so much - thank you!!!
You're welcome! I hope you enjoy sewing it!
God bless your son!!! I'm sure although, as quilters it's frustrating, nobody else will notice! I am the "queen" of stars and I think it is beautiful.

I really, love the block yiu put up when sewing thr first pieces together - for me the the stringer desk and medium fabrics really caught my eye! M
Beautiful, I especially like the thin sashing, it really sets the squares off 0:33 so nicely with the bright white against the multiple other white colors.
Adorable ending. Thank you for sharing it. Loved the entire tutorial!
Glad you enjoyed it! I thought it was so cute!
Beautiful! You are very talented!!

Great tip!
Enjoy your tutorials very much , always clear instructions, thankyou Australia
Thanks so much 😊
It is gorgeous!!!
I love the finished quilt. It is beautiful!!
Thank you so much!
That is a fabulous quilt. I have been thinking about making a red quilt. This may well be it. Thanks❤
You should! For some reason a red quilt just looks so elegant!
Haha Fallon! I also get some of my best color and fabric advice from my son! Who knew sons have such a wonderful sense of color and design! 😘
Love it!!
Beautiful quilt & beautiful fabrics! Love reds my favorite. Thank you for another awesome video! Happy sewing
Thank you so much!
I love the colors and how beautiful all the blocks look joined by the lighter sashing.😊🧡💛
Thank you!
Looks better than fine!! 😅 Love it.
Thanks! 😁
Wow! What a lovely quilt!
Thank you! 😊

Beautiful quilt!!
Thank you!
Love the Ohio star block. Read cream and white is my favorite together. Good choice on your sashing white and a little narrow which perfect.
Thanks so much! I haven't used a sashing this narrow, but I think it worked in this quilt!
Great job!🎉🎉
Beautiful fabric and blocks
Thank you!
You did an awesome job. At the end it looked like your design wall fell on you and your son😂😂. Believe you son it looks great
I had to go back and watch! It did! 😂
Delightful and easy. Thanks, Fallon. 🎶💐💖🫂
You are so welcome!
I think it’s beautiful!
Thank you!
Good choice Fallon. Absolutely gorgeous ❤❤❤❤🎉
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful! Love the sashing. Really makes those stars sparkle.
Thank you!
You should do a tutorial on beautiful quilt behind you in the start of this video!
I do like that narrow, lighter sashing. Good choice. I’ve only done wider sashing but I think this looks really nice.
Thank you! I have only used wider sashing before this quilt as well... Usually 2-2.5". I may do this thinner sashing more often now though!
I love that quilt It is so pretty. I work with a lot of stars and reds, whites, off whites and blues for vet quilts. I love seeing other people's ideas come together and other people's points of view. Your son is a great encouragement to you, listen to your boy mama, lol.
Thank you for watching! He is such a sweetheart!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Beautiful! The white sashing is the right choice.
Thank you! I really agonized over it!
I love Ohio Stats, and love how this turned out! Cranberries and Cream was a beautiful line, but I am a suckered for red and cream/white lines.
I have made so many red and cream/white quilts! There is just something about them for me!
Really like the idea of thin white sashing. I have mostly done wider sashing but we start using thinner ones. Thanks for this video.
You are so welcome! I have only used wider sashing too, but I didn't love the look of the blocks being so far apart! I kept making the sashing thinner and thinner to test! I will probably do this more often now!
Love the quilt
Thank you
It is beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Love it ❤
Thank you!
Just saw this on TH-cam. Thats amazing ruler. Never saw before. Very interested in 4.5 and 6.5, maybe others. Do you have tutorial on this type of ruler. Never ever imagined anything like this. Love the red. Love the pattern and your quilt. On my list to do now❤❤❤😂
There are a few tutorials on my channel using the trim-lock rulers.
I like your scale of the sashing. It’s small. It separates your stars so you see them better. It’s a great quilt top. I now need to see it quilted
I am hoping to quilt it over the next few weeks and will share it when finished!
beautiful!
Thank you!
Thanks Fallon beautiful block
You are welcome!

You cut your beautiful hair!! But I love it❤️‼️
Thank you!

That is a great idea!
Great ideas, im in the middle of making blocks also and not sure to use sashing. . . Thanks for the ideas.
You are so welcome!
Fallon I love the quilt you wee standing in front of at the beginning of the video. Wow that’s so beautiful, could you share the pattern name
Thank you! The quilt is one of my designs. Here is a link to the tutorial video: th-cam.com/video/IteLsNRSGBM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k8pN38S41ZucIlHu
❤❤❤❤
What a beautiful quilt top, love the different shades of red which is my favorite color...
What size is each block? Thanks for this wonderful tutorial.
I really like the way you present. I like the seam guide tape you use. Where can I find it?
The one I have isn’t as nice.
Thank you so much!
It is Gypsy Quilters seam guide tape. It is available on Amazon here: amzn.to/4ggNxDC
@@sewbeitquilts Found it. Thank you!
OK, what handy dandy tool are you using to hold your 3 1/2 " down? I have issues with small rulers and templates shifting. . Thanks
I wouldn’t have noticed the 2 that were close together.
I don't know how I missed it! I took photos, I laid it out multiple times! My son talked me down though. I was ready to pick seams.
@@sewbeitquilts I totally understand, but I think it looks awesome as it is.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
