THIS is the review I was looking for. You helped me know what I'm going to purchase by providing ALL of the info I wanted to know: How it folds up and is carried, and how it sits.
For once, I found a review video that answers ALL my questions exactly plus answers questions I didn't know I had! Now I know which model to get :) Thanks so much.
Thanks bro Great review. I am now a subscriber! You are very real and thorough. Please keep doing more on camping stuff. I am ordering my GCI chairs today!!!😃
I used someone's comfort pro this weekend and went to order some for myself - looks like I ordered the kickback by mistake. Thanks for clarifying about the differences!
The Road Trip is nice, as are most of those Rockers. But for $80, is that really the best design GCI could come up with for a cup holder? It's awful! It's a small issue, but it's a relatively large price for a camping chair. It should have everything. Nice review! I know you didn't design the chair. 😁
The Freestyle is an awesome chair and is great for when you need to sit forward like up to a table, or playing games but also gives you the ability to rock back. I would say the comfort pro is more comfortable but the Freestyle might be more useful in different situations. If you have back problems or have difficulty getting up or down then I would go with the Freestyle. I l'll start working on a video comparison. Thanks for your comment 👍
I"ve heard many reviewers complain about noise from those spring struts. Some of complained about tension being uneven in the struts, or just an awkward feeling. Haven't read about any of them actually breaking. Spilling a drink in camp chairs is a normal thing, for me.
The struts can get squeaky when they get dirty, I've not had any issues with tension being different between each side. However, I have noticed that sometimes when leaning all the way back one strut will bottom out just a little before the other, but most of the time your not slamming the chairs all the way back so most people don't notice.
In personal experience, the newer version of the roadtrip rocker seems to be a tad sturdier than the comfort pro, but I think they are both rated at 280
Thanks for the review! They are a spring strut so there is no fluid. They have a lifetime warranty which covers the struts so if they brake you can get a replacement chair, however we've sold these chairs for several years and never had one come back due to a bad strut. I have never taken one apart so I'm not sure how difficult it is to fix them and I don't think Gci actually sales replacement parts. Hope this helps!
I own a comfort pro rocker. It stopped folding up all the way after only a few times using it. Was looking for a video to see if I'm doing something wrong, that maybe there is a button I am supposed to push, but looks like its just a malfunction with the chair.
No, it's the chair. For some reason where the chair slides it binds when it gets dirty. When it binds I just kind of bear hug gently and it will collapse. Hope this helps
I have bought two GCI Rockers and after a couple years the seat ripped in half and also the backing ripped. GCI cannot fix the problem so I will have to scrap the chairs. I will not buy another GCI chair. Instead of buying a 3rd chair I just ordered a $300 Yeti camp chair which is UV ray protected and also holds up to 500 lbs. I use my chairs outside 365 days a year so they are in the sun and weather. GCI's chaIRS are meant to be stored inside and cannot gtake exposure to the sun....they will break eventually....lasts me only 2 years.
@@hairry7899 I looked at my records and I bought 3 of those chairs and they all ripped in the seat. CGI says they have to be stored indoors...My last chair was bought Jan 2024 and is already ripped in the seat.
I love the dramatic reenactment of spilling your drink

Good content… quick and honest review. All we need.

You get what you get and you don't get upset
@@DUNGSTA That's deep. I'll have to remember that one. 🤣
I prefer “ you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit”.
Very detailed and useful review - thank you!
You are so right, you must try the chair to know which one is right for you..... you can't judge it by price.....
Great review. Thank you for all the great info.
Thank you! It's what I needed to know.
Thanks for taking the time for the reviews. Very informative!
Great review. What about comfort pro vs freestyle rocker?

Great video. Very clear and helpful!
Thank you for doing this. Very helpful!
my only problem with these chairs are that they can be pretty tough to fold up

Thanks so much. This was super helpful!
The freestyle is the only one that offers an XL. Do you think the others are strong enough to support 300-315#? I'm betting they are

Very helpful! Thank you!
We preferred the comfort pro in store test. Have you tried the one with sunshade? We wanted to try it but wasn't in stock.
Thanks for the reviews. How easy/hard is it to fix the hydraulic pumps if it ever breaks?

@@hairry7899 that worked. Thanks!
Do you think the sunshade rocker is worth it ?
Man that comfort pro is quite the noisy rocker, isn’t it. Id try a bit of silicone based spray lube on it.
Thanks

I still can’t fold my chair . I followed the instructions ; and it’s half way . I sprayed WD-40 can’t not fold it 😮
squeeze it like ur hugging a telephone pole!!! 😂
I have the same issue with the comfort pro
Vanilla coke! I'll Subscribe just for that.
Why did you not review the GCI Sunshade rocker. That is the one we commonly found in stores like Cabela's, REI.
1:49 😂
Thanks for this. The descriptions on these chairs are terrible.
Brakus Ville
These rockers like to absorb sand at the beach.
You forgot to mention how hard they are to fold up.
