In this video, we take some advice from viewers and try the 5 credit, 5 line version of the Double Diamond slot machine @cosmopolitanlasvegas. Many have claimed that Cowboy Slots recommends the 5 credit, 5 line for Step 1 of his handpay method. However, we believe that when he said “no more than 5 credits max,” he meant we could play any number of credits as long as it’s the max bet and not over 5 credits. To us, this suggests that playing a 3 credit max is perfectly acceptable. But, we’ll test it out and see if we have any better luck on the 5 credit machine.
We’ll be using $100 of Identity Free Play and once it’s gone, we’ll take whatever we’ve won at that point. Sure, we could continue to play in hopes of getting up to $200, but remember, it’s gambling. There’s a good chance we’ll lose it all if we continue, so we’ll take our winnings and move along.

I haven’t been successful starting on a $.25 machine, but I did put $100 into a $1 Triple Double Stars machine and at single credit bets hit a handpay of $1350 getting the top symbol plus two triples. That was a fun day. This method is a way to get to a handpay, but it’s really more about extending your bankroll and making it last longer.
Awesome! Maybe we’ll try that next time-just skip to step 2. Unfortunately, step 1 hasn’t worked out but it also hasn’t extended our bankroll or allowed us to play longer. We’ve been luckier putting in a $5, $10 or $20 than we’ve ever been with $100.
I've been playing a Triple Stars .25 cent, 5 line machine. I put $20 in and cash it out if it goes over $30. So far, I'm doing good, just slow. If I lose the original $20, I change machines, then come back later. So far, so good, making around $100 each session.
That’s our usual strategy, but we cash out anything above our $20. I’ve also had some luck playing only 1 or 2 credits. Slow and steady! We hope you have continued luck!
I might have stayed, but it is always a feel. The most I have ever come away in trying to double my money, was I got to $160.00. I think I had a big hit eventutally after being well below $100, so I just said, I will take it and run. You guys are growing and growing in subscribers! Very nice! Well Deserved
We probably would have taken the $160, too. It just doesn’t seem like putting in more money brings us any more luck. We do okay on our $20s and lately, I’ve been having some surprising luck just putting in $5!
@@TheMidlifeRide - that is cool
Hi Guys,
I love watching your channel. Now onto the Cowboy Slots Handpay method. The first time I did 5 lines for quarters but after 50 pulls with mostly dead spins, I changed to another 25 cent 5 liner and got to 800 coins. Went on to 1 credit $1 and made my $300. Went on to $5 -1 credit and SHOULD have changed machines after losing $100 but didn't and that's as far as I got because my money disappeared down the slot hole of infinity! So maybe by now you made it to a handpay already but keep it up. I love all your stuff. I am 75 and love my fave casinos in Colorado and Mesquite Nevada because I also love Bingo!
Wow! That’s much more luck than we’ve had. Do you remember the games you played and which casinos? I (Cat) love bingo, too! Haven’t played in about 15 years, but I’d love to play again someday. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your experience:)
@@TheMidlifeRide The 5 line games were at Ute Mt Casino in Cortez, CO. Maybe Crystal something in the Summit Room(Straight back)Ute Mt. Is smoke free BTW. But in Mesquite I found the old school 3 reel slots like double diamond, triple stars, triple double stars. I followed a video from cowboy slots on low volitle (spelling😞)slots. The old machines are disappearing. I haven’t tried top dollar for line hits because I think it’s too volitle for me. I wish I knew how to play regular bonus video poker like Chris did well on.
PS In Mesquite I stayed at The Virgin River Casino (under $40 a night). They have lots of old school slots right when you walk in the main entrance. It is not smoke free. Also Ute Mt. Casino has incredible bingo but not on Friday and Saturday. Their restaurant is very good.
@@bethkinser5545 Video poker is easy to learn, especially Jacks or Better and Bonus Poker. We learned using a strategy card (we printed it out, studied it and refer to it while playing in the casinos.) And, there are free VP apps that will tell you if you make a mistake and show you which cards you should have kept instead:)
@@bethkinser5545 We’d love to visit more casinos around the country. Maybe once we retire and are able to travel more:)
I feel for this method the 25c level is the hardest one to clear. Especially when there isn't a good select of 25c machines to pick from. My favs though are at the NY/NY there is a nice bank of 25c machines that usually will pay a little so you can sort of bounce between them putting $20 in each. At the Park MGM my favorite $1 machine for this method is the Majestic Lions. Have hit a $300 3 lions on that several times.
We know the machines at NYNY. We’ve had some luck there, but there’s only a few (bank of 6 maybe?) and they are often all being played. Never heard of Majestic Lions but we’ll keep an eye out for it. Thanks for watching:)
@@TheMidlifeRideMajestic Lions are right next to Cherries Jubilee at MGM if I’m not mistaken. There’s probably 20-30 of those all together, from $1-5 bets.
I get that double diamonds are less volatile relative to other machines because you aren't bleeding money towards a progressive, but it still seems pretty volatile to me in general. His handpay method is so hard to hit. "All you have to do is double up on this machine, then double up on the next machine, then double up on the next machine, then double up on the next machine" lol yea so simple. It could take years for that scenario to play out. I'd rather just go less often with more money and go straight to the higher denoms.
We can understand that and it certainly hasn’t worked out for us. When you play higher denoms, what games do you play, what denom and how much do you put in the machine?
@@TheMidlifeRide I mainly play double diamond or video poker. It's just been frustrating me lately haha. I usually do the $1 denom. The one at my local casino isn't the 5 line like you played. It's the one where it has the payback chart for first credit and second credit, but there is no extra bonus for the second credit so it's still considered a less volatile machine I think. I usually play video poker if I just want to grind out some freeplay and keep the money. But that game is also kind of a slow bleed of your bankroll unless you hit a couple big hands to get you through the downswings.
I used to like wandering around looking for slots like Rich Little Piggies where something looks like it's ready to pop. But I've played those before where it seems ready to hit but still takes a bunch of money to get there.
Next time I'm at Cosmo I'm going to look for that machine. I never realized the difference in volatility between machines until recently so I'm looking forward to hunting those down on my next trip to Vegas. Did they switch to MGM rewards yet?
@@ascent_engine we prefer VP over slots, but we’ve never gotten a royal in 15+ years. We actually tried the Cowboy Slots method on VP for our 5th attempt to double our money. It went much better than the slots and it’s just more enjoyable. We felt the same way when we first learned about the least volatile slots. We spent a lot of time searching for 25 cent denoms, no more than 5 credits max. They can be hard to find. You should have better luck finding $1 machines. Cosmo is still Identity for now. They’ll be merged into MGM rewards in February 2024.
I usually play the ainsworth games and usually do 5 lines at 25 cent or $1 with $100 start and usually hit the bonus round at least once and that gets me my first amount doubled easy. I've only had one time where i lost on my initial funding. Every other time I've gotten one or multiple bonuses, usually on thunder cash.
I watch C S & have never seen your videos. Thank you for your honesty & posting the video, even if it was not a big hit🙂🎄🎅
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! We’ll be trying again soon:)
Dave and I were just talking about cowboy slots . Too funny!
Because of life that happens, we won't be going to Vagas until December 😢
Ugh! We can totally relate. December seems so far away, but it's better than not having a trip planned at all. We have a bit more "life" to get through before we can plan another:)
Frist time watching...I enjoy watching...I know this is a old video I liked when you moved the camera so we could see amount won....good luck always
Thanks for watching!
Hey Chris and Cat!!! glad to see a video here... hope everyone is well ... Thanx for sharing!! Be well
Thanks for watching, Malik and Denise!
I'm pretty confident that double diamonds was a newer version considering the fact it had multiple lines. Was a great try though 😊 unfortunately the older machines are getting harder and harder to find.
They are getting harder to find. But, I feel like I heard CS say they can be new machines as long as they are the original and not variations. Maybe in his video of the Top 5 Slots to Play.
I have won on cowboy slots method. You have to play the double triple stars one line machine which is 2 credits for $2. It is less volatility. Won $300.00 then played a red sevens one line three credit machine but only $60.00 After I left the machine a guy played it and hit the $1100.00 jackpot. Could have kicked myself for not playing my full $200.00 bankroll.
@@roxanbissember7295 It’s always a bummer to watch someone else win on a machine you just left. Ugh!
Enjoyed your video! Following you guys, I like real life videos!
Thanks for watching:)
Most things are worth a try at least once...That's how you can see what works and what doesn't 👍
Can’t wait until we find something that actually works for us! 😂
Thanks for the video! IMO, there is no "method" to win at slots. It's all timing and luck. If I had a method to win, I'd spend all my time in the casino. LOL
Same here! We can follow instructions. It's that timing and luck that we have trouble with:)
@@TheMidlifeRide LOL Me too!
For the 25 cent step CS says you'll be betting max and not to play more than a 5 credits. He does mention 5 line machines, but I believe he was suggesting a single pay line machine. Also, he says this is an all or nothing step. So, for the machine you were playing, you should have been betting the max 5 credits a line. Personally, I go to the $1, single credit bet. I've had one hand pay using this step. I generally play video poker, but when I do play slots, I go to the $1 machines.
We did play the max on all the machines we tried for step 1. We also tried steps 2 and 3. We also prefer video poker. What’s your favorite denom and game variation?
I think he also mentioned if you keep getting cherries the machine is readjusting and to move to another machine
Can you tell me which video? I’d like to watch that one!
which video?
Played the exact same machine a few days ago, playing max bet on it, at The Cosmo. Used $146 (had a voucher) and didn’t hit anything at all. Safe to say the method is a bust on the 5 pay lines, maybe look for the one with the single Payline and give it a try? Less volatility on those, wish I had more time to look for them at the Cosmo with the single Paylines.
Sorry to hear that you didn’t have luck either. We did play 3 single line machines, 75 cent max bet. You can find them here: Cowboy Slots Handpay Method Attempts

Thanks for watching and sharing your experience:)
I was really hoping you would do it this time! I guess if it were that easy, everybody would be doing it maybe easier to skip this step and move on to the dollar machine may cost you more, but in the long run, maybe not
Yeah, that’s exactly what we were thinking! I guess we could technically just skip to the last step, but that would make us higher rollers than we really are:)
Suppose to play till I double your 100 dollars or lose it. I would’ve pet going. Just my opinion. Great content
This was our 6th attempt, so we figured we’d better take what we won and move along:)
I agree. I would have played it out.
Most the time I do not get gains on these types of machines, but just up and down but mostly trending gradually down until I'm out of the money I input. I'm surprised if anyone experiences this as a winning prospect on a regular basis though Cowboy Slots and Jackpot Judo claim it.
We’d be surprised, too, though lots of people commenting say it works for them!
$48 on $100 Freeplay isn’t bad. Don’t know if I’ve ever played that version of DD, I think it was always Wheel of Fortune DD
WOF is more exciting, for sure. I don’t even want to think about all the awful comments we’d get from Cowboy Slots fans if we played it, though 😂
They do suggest reevaluating half-way thru. I do better on a5 line. 25 thunder cash to double the 1st hundred.
We’d love to play a 5 line 25 cent denom Thunder Cash. Where did you find one? We’ve seen one off-strip, Green Valley Ranch maybe. And possibly at the Plaza on Fremont. They used to have one at Cosmo, but we can only find $1 denom now.
It helps if you show the credit line to be able to see how much you are hitting for. Please adjust the camera to see the whole part of your session
We agree and we’ll work on that!
Love it
Thanks for watching:)
I tried Cowboy Slots suggestions as well and no luck. How about yall do a series trying JackpotFamous tips.
What kind of tips does JackpotFamous have? Have you tried any?
Just a friendly reminder to people in general, no matter what tips you use or who you get them from, at the end of the day, it all boils down to getting lucky. These tips are just there to help you increase your odds. Never play what you can't afford to lose. Brantley and Mark on the CS channel mentions this often
@@vegaswithdrawal4132 We agree 100%. Nothing wrong with the method. We just aren’t very lucky:)
With that completely digital bet/win/credits display, can this be called the ‘original’ game?
Good question. I’ve wondered the same thing. I believe I’ve heard that it doesn’t matter if it’s new style digital or old-school reel as long as the game variation is right.
thats not a regular double diamond machine. regular DD has just 1 line. i think some one used a regular DD cover and used it for a deluxe?
Maybe. Not really sure which are the originals or regulars. We just play what we can find.
Old style, 3-reel slots hate me. I never have any luck on them. 😂
I’m starting to feel like if I don’t have some luck in the first $5 or $10, it’s not going to happen. So many of our biggest wins happen right off the bat.
The $100 hardly works. $200 on $1 machine like pinball usually works for me if I double my money on this method I get out. I’m not ready to go to the $5 machine after I double on $200. I feel like I would probably need $1k on the $5 machine method.
So, for step 2, you try to double $200 in Pinball instead of tripling $100? Have you found a difference between the machines based on the max credits? Even though we’d be playing only 1 credit, wondering if we have a better shot on a 2 credit or 3 credit max machine…
I do the 5 spin and move on if nothing in return.
We’ve started moving regularly unless we’re hitting. When we’re low-rolling, some of our best wins come before we lose $5.
I would have increased the denom
We were testing his method, so had to stick with the 25 cent denom for step 1. We have other videos for step 2 ($1 denom) and step 3 ($5 denom). Thanks for watching:)
More my speed. I would have probably drove myself crazy by switching back and forth between number of credits. $100 free play. What the heck. Lol. See yall next time. Peace
I like to sit at these machines for a while and just play 1 credit. I get lucky every now and then, but $20 lasts a long time, so I’m happy. Chris only plays max. He’s more of a risk-taker:)
Well you're only playing a 25 cent machine. There's only one win on that, 5000 credits ($1250) that pays a handpay. I think the Cowboy suggestion is for a $1 denomination or higher.
This is just step 1 of his method. 25 cent machine, no more than 5 credits max. The goal is to double up to $200. Step 2 is $1 denom, 1 credit.
I believe he was referring to a single payline.
The more lines you play the higher the volatility. ♡
@@gerrieharris7593 really? Hmm. I will have to look out for one of those. Have you seen them in Vegas?
I believe he said double diamond single line..
He may have. Don’t think we’ve ever noticed a one line 25 cent denom. Do you know of any on the Vegas strip?
So, so, so, so, so, so, so!!! SO NOT NECESSARY TO REPEATEDLY USE SO!!!
I know! I say that a lot. Just take a drink every time you hear it and maybe it won’t be soooo annoying 😂
Cowboy's method isn't even a method. Its all luck. That guys is fooling tons of people into thinking theres some trick to winning at slots when there isnt.
All gambling comes down to luck. Unfortunately, we just don’t have much. Since we lose most of the time anyway, these “methods” just make it interesting for us to keep playing…until they don’t. Then, we just go back to our favorite machines for the entertainment value:)
@@sriousprobs477 Yes, there are definitely different levels of volatility between games. But, it still comes down to luck. Sometimes we lose on the least volatile machines and win on the most volatile (and vice versa). So, we’ll continue to play whatever we want. There are so many fun games out there and we’re not going to stop playing them just because we’re less likely to win. We’re more concerned with enjoying the game:)
Cowboy slots suggestions , do not work on quarter machine , you must play $5 or more machines ..
Nothing works all the time. We’ve seen other people win on $0.25 but we weren’t so lucky. We’ll probably try the $1 before we jump to $5. That’s a bit out of our comfort zone:)
Cowboy Slots is an obvious shill. He has a CASINO sponsoring videos, he's EMPLOYED by a casino. Casinos don't allow winners. They cheat, ban & trespass card counters who are simply playing the game by the rules and winning. If he were teaching legit ways to beat the house they'd do everything in their power to destroy him NOT SPONSOR him.
I have won a hand pay playing the pinball machine using Cowboy's method.
Cowboy Slots is directing people to play some of the worst machines in the house. He's sponsored by a casino and works at a Casino....I wonder why he'd do that???
We’ve had some luck on the old school machines, but never enough to double $100. We’re better off putting in a $20 and walking away while we’re up.
You’re 100% wrong on your assumption. My last two trips playing double and triple diamond has resulted in a $1,600 and $700 take home.
@@BigDad200 Nice! You’re much luckier than we have been, but we’re still hoping to pull off a win sometime:)
Invest in a tripod so you stop moving the camera closer to the machine and not show the total credits. Started out good then went to hell. Sad... 🙁
