  • Sometimes just keeping a simple shape and letting the beauty of the wood shine through is the best option!
English Oak with Australian Jarrah. The Jarrah was recycled from The Rebuild Site www.rebuildsit... in Carlisle, originally this was elegant hardwood floorboards carefully removed and repurposed from a local house near Carlisle.
    The finished bowl measures 200mm x 58mm (8" x 2 1/4").
    Thank you for watching.

Note this is NOT an instructional video, or designed for any education purposes, it is simply my own personal steps on my wood turning journey.

Nice bit of West Australian Jarrah, the oaks not bad either. Cheers

That is a great shape! I love the colors! And...oak just is sooo chippy. I try not to work with it unless I have a specific need. You did a great job!

Many thanks. Yes, as lovely as oak is, it can be an unforgiving wood to turn. 👍

Yes, I've tried other brands, but Gorilla Glue has never let me down.

And it ended up with proportion edges. Good job.

Lots of careful measuring and a dash of good luck really helped to keep the edges balanced. Thanks for watching

Nice combination of colours! I quite like oak, but i am *constantly* sharpening when turning it. Haven't tried jarrah. Thanks for sharing!
