this anime is the only thing that restores my faith in modern day color design
Watching these clips me appreciate the first season director even more. Makima seems like your typical female that likes to show affection through dominance (Hancock/Elizabeth and i know you can think of more) but way director introduces her you can feel sense of doubt and wary towards her that eventually faded only to appear once in the while everytime. That makes her confusing and interesting character which leads to audience being attracted towards her. Director did a good job handling her.

@Brody-xg6ux She simply just sees him as a tool to gain more control. As you know that is her whole being. she is trying to control Denji to gain control over hell. That would make her also have absolute control over the "real" world

Tomori Kusunoki is amazing.
It's perfect casting. At first you think it feels wrong because you'd think Makima should have a "mommy" or onee-san type voice from reading the manga but for me this girl next door voice fits the narrative much better. Much more suited to giving Denji the perfect fantasy.
