I was born in 82 and this was my Batman until the Animated Series came around (boy, what a contrast that was!). I’m from Belgium and I used to watch it and other old-timey shows like the Addams Family tv-show constantly on the French channel. It actually makes me feel very proud that I grew up on that stuff. I'm glad you included a scale to other figures as that was my big worry with this line, considering how relatively inexpensive it is, I had assumed it was off scale in some way. Since that isn't the case, dollar for dollar, this might be the best value licensed line out there.
I have no attachment to Batman '66, but I saw the dioramas in-person the other day, and maaaaan am I tempted just because they might work for other figures. But the figures themselves just look fun, and like you said, the more limited articulation is kinda fitting. Not because it's an old show, but because I don't think anyone was super nimble and dexterous on that show? These just look really charming all around.
Haha, yeah, I haven't seen the show in a long time so I went and watched some clips. There's a LOT of standing and talking, with little spurts of action and fighting. Like you said, fitting.
I have the Batcave diorama and it works well with my ML Retro Fantastic Four lineup. I'm buying the Wayne Manor to build a Professor X or Matt Murdock office around it. For the price, you really can't beat it.
I am enjoying this whole line! The Batboat and Batmobile are great but pair better with the super powers line. Which is ok with me. And the figures pair with the Batcycle so as far as I am concerned it’s the perfect line. Just need a Batgirl
Iirc there was a script for an actual Two Face episode for season 3 where Harvey would have been played by Clint Eastwood that got canned for either budget or scheduling reasons. Elements of the episode were later reused for BTAS (the thing where the coin wouldn't land flat was taken directly from the script) and eventually, Two Face showed up in the Batman '66 comic series and later an animated movie where he was voiced by William Shatner.
I've been following this line from day one. There's still so many villains that I'd love to see figures of - Tallulah Bankhead as Black Widow, Ethel Merman as Lola Lasagne, Cliff Robertson as Shame, etc. It's astounding they've gotten permission from all the estates to make the likenesses for the villains they have so far. They've made both Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar's Catwoman and that blew me away. The Egghead and Mr. Freeze figures are so spot on, and this King Tut figure is also amazing. Not including the ones in your video, they've released 22 figs so far (including three hard to get Platinum Chase editions). Hopefully many more to come!
I've been tempted a few times by the standard version of the Joker, I've got a miscellaneous Joker display so he'd fit right in. I know Two-Face appeared in that recent animated film, but I'd love to see other classic Batman rogues who weren't in the series be given a retro style treatment. Seeing as we've got the main four villains from the show and film, plus Mr. Freeze and now Two-Face, I think Poison Ivy and Scarecrow would to me round out that classic villain lineup. Plus they were supposedly meant to show up in the series at some point, heck Poison Ivy was created purely because the showrunners asked DC to make more female villains for them to use, only for them to never actually use her.
I didn't get into this line because I have most of the Mattel stuff, but after buying Egghead yesterday, I'm really tempted to go back and get all the McFarlane only stuff. I guess we'll see once I see how kuch they're going for. 😛

Robo, top tip if you want a Batmobile: The earlier Mattel Batmobile is better scaled for 1/12. I picked one up on ebay and it's better than the Mcfarlane by quite a bit!!!
I started poking around last night and remembered the Mattel version. I passed on that so many times back in the day, now here I am looking for it. Funny how things come back around.
@@TheFwoosh the Mcfarlane figs fit in great, and despite being far less articulated than the older Mattels, I prefer the look of the McFarlanes. Bats and Robin sat in the MattelMobile looks wonderful!
yep thats the best combo. The Mattel Batmobile with the Mcfarlane figures and Dioramas. Super glad I got the Mattel one as a gift way back when. Just pulled it out of a closet and it goes great with the new display
@@TheFwoosh By all means get the Mattel one. Todd's looks nice until you get the figures in or near it and then it is beyond obvious that it is way too small. The boat is small, too, but it doesn't seem as obvious. The Batcycle is pretty close to being right, though. I really want a Batcopter to go with them but there is no way it could be anywhere near the right size unless they really up the price point. Hopefully Batgirl with get her cycle when she gets released, maybe her changing room, too.
Would wanted see the legends in the diorama,. would be cool have it as xavier office or some kind of fancy mansion for hammerhead you kknow? Anyway love the video
I've been 100% in on this line since it was released. That's not to say that I bought every single figure that they put out, but I got all the main heroes and villains so far along with all the playsets and vehicles. Glad to see that you're also getting into it now that you have some in your hands. They are pretty cool, and very nostalgic if you're a big fan of the 66 Batman like I am. Can't wait to get my hands on those new pieces that you just got, mine are all in pre-order right now. I know they are a value piece but I would have loved to have seen the bat phone had an LED light bulb in it and the noise, just like the McFarlane teaser trailer had. I'm sure someone will be able to be creative and add those two things out there, and sell kits online at some point. I'd definitely be down for one of those. That should be something you do & feature on one of your play date videos. Hint hint.
I’ve only picked up a few items from this line, but Egghead is a must, being that Vincent Price was a local boy. He might still be in your stores? I was looking at one of the Joker variants the other day, no mustache on him, either, but I thought the initial release had it? I’m not sure who Two-Face is modeled after? Apparently Shatner voiced him in the animated movie, but they had another actor in mind for the fourth season? Bill would have been too busy on Trek, at that point, I believe? I just came across my BatCave, still in box. I passed on villain’s lair, but Wayne Manor looks cool. I’d bet the BatBoat will be in high demand for 6” customizers for ML and Classified, esp. That FortNite boat was gone before it hit shelves, and cheapest I’ve seen is $80 online, but usually at least twice that. 🙄
At the beginning of this toyline, I'd wanted to and planned to collect it; however, a bit later on I watched some reviews of the action figures, and MAINLY of the Batmobile, Batcycle and the Batcave, and they totally put me off. McFarlane unfortunately cut corners on these; quite a lot, actually. The Batcave was the biggest "deterrent" to me. Everything that is "inside" it is made out of cheap, brittle plastic, plus the execution thereof is very poor (for example, just try to look at the backsides of the individual computers). Despite the Batmobile's not scaling well with the figures (it's a bit too small for them; hence they sit inside it a bit too high), the car is 'somehow' still too large to properly fit onto the central "turntable" of the cave (in addition, it's just a lame, cheap thin cardboard paper mat that doesn't do absolutely anything). The poles for Batman and Robin are so flimsy that they feel almost like drinking straws, and moreover, the figs can't even slide them due to the lack of sufficient articulation; they simply just fall down alongside them as you drop them from the top. You might as well just toss them on the floor or tabletop wherever else you want. Ultimately, the Batcave is not a "playset" at all, because it does not have ANY play-features; it is simply just a mere diorama and underwhelming one on top of that. I've seen comparison videos where the Batmobile and the Batcycle were compared against their older counterparts from about a decade ago, produced by Mattel when they still had the master licence for DC, and the new vehicles came out of it as clear losers. Again, there've been multiple issues with them; quality-wise, feature-wise, detail-wise, etc. And in a regard of the action figs themselves, they are overall relatively OK for what they are, but I'll add here the severe lack of accessories in (not only) the earlier waves. I really wanted this toyline to be a success, but in the end I will likely only pick up the Catwomen and Mr. Freeze, because they are my personal favourites from Batman's rogue gallery. Though the newer ones like King Tut and Two-Face also look awesome (thanks for the review of them). This is also probably the very first time I've been disappointed by the McFarlane Toys; I'd previously never thought that this could happen to me with them.
I gotta say, I bought the Batmobile and while I’m mostly happy with it (it’s basically a big sturdy car you can ram into a wall without damaging it, like toys were back in the day) the lack of sculpt and paint detail is what ruins it for me. There’s not even doors sculpted in. Granted, it’s an open car. But it still needs doors. That being said, Bats and Robin do look good inside it, despite it being underscaled a bit, so it does it’s job ultimately.
@@jarosbodytko6462 Yep, if you're overall happy with it, then I'm definitely glad for you. It's certainly not a disastrous product (well, maybe the friggin' Batcave is a bit). But McFarlane could've certainly done better and I'm pretty sure that not only me would then be willing to pay like extra 5 *quids for it (*I'm from the UK). After I watched the comparison videos I mentioned above, I felt like, "damn!! I now want the old Batmobile and Batcycle from Mattel so much".
Really enjoy this line, I hope they keep digging into 66 exclusive characters like King Tut. Give me a Police Chief O’Hara and Aunt Harriet cuzz where else am I gonna find them
Have to admit, I’m impressed with how expansive this line is getting. I’m actually glad I didn’t get into this line seeing all the good stuff McFarlane is doing that I would have to buy. 😉
Robo, you're the best. Just thought I'd let you know I appreciate your humor, your attitude, your hard work and making anything you review worth watching.
This series of figures has potential despite the articulation being basic. However, I do like the figures can go into vehicles. So that is a trade-off. You can add some custom pieces to round things out for this diorama set. I like the overall comic book and classic TV show mixture going on. I wonder if this set could work along side other 6-inch figures lingering within my collection.
Its great that McFarlane is doing the batman66 action figures i hope one day he let's us know that he's doing the Batman movies characters from the 90.
Took me a while to cotton on that Two-Face is supposed to be based on William Shatner since that version of the character comes from the second animated movie they did.
They're defo gonna put out Wayne, Dick and likely the mayor, chief and alfred. I only wish the library could connect to the bat cave in a multi layered playset
I don't mind the basic articulation but my only gripe is the hip joints could have been designed better, aesthetically. A basic ball joint would have been so much better. Those who argue "retro articulation" don't seem to fathom the elbow, knees and shoulders are modernised joints. It's a great line that could have real legs if they go into other retro media - Superman 78, Batman 89, etc.
If McFarlane truly wanted that Joker to be on model with the trading card, they would have had flesh colour around his neck- in the illustrations on the cards the Joker’s face is painted!
The Penguin really looks like Burgess Meredith! Ditto for King Tut looking like Victor Buono! PS- The Batboat should have been a darker blue or even black!!! Too bad they didn't include a George Reeves Superman figure (based on the color episodes of that series). It would have fulfilled my childhood wish for a 50's/60's retro World's Finest team up!!!! BTW artist ALEX ROSS did make a Worlds Finest poster featuring the retro tv versions of Batman Robin & Superman!!!
Hmm...On the Two-Face figure, the package may say Comics, but the Harvey Dent side looks to me like...William Shatner ("Star Trek" Captain Kirk.) Which is fairly accurate, since Shatner did voice Harvey/Two Face, in the 2017 DC animated movie: "Batman vs. Two Face," one of the last projects to feature Adam West one more time as Batman, before West's death that same year.
Hope McFarlane makes Mad Hatter, Bookworm, FalseFace, & Clock King before they shut the line down. I read that Todd is wanting to make a lot of the villains and supporting cast, like Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, Chief O'Hara, Batgirl, & Aunt Harriett. I've read that Batgirl 66 from the comics is on the way.
I can’t wait to add the batboat, the wayne manor library, the king tut, two-face, the batman figure with the pink cowl, and the lunch box set with the four cards, and four figures to my collection, and i guarantee it that they’re gonna with the bat copter another play set and more figures to come to this line up and I can’t wait same bat time same bat channel.
I do like they seemed to have carried on where Funko left off, what with more obscure characters like King Tut and I believe Egghead was announced. I do wish they'd make more accurate figures of the George Sanders and Eli Wallach Mr Freeze's instead of just having Eli be a chase head change on the Preminger Freeze like Funko did(given Wallach was much skinnier) and include the freeze gun(and helmet in the Sanders case). The figures based on the card art also reminds me of how they looked in the animated intro for the show. I agree on ankles though given McFarlane style ankles on their other lines makes me see a lack of them as a sort of blessing in disguise. From memory Two-Face is based on a comic that was adapted from a script for an episode of the show that never got made and then that got adapted into an animated film with William Shatner voicing him and with his likeness from the 60's as he was one of the names put forward for the role when the script was made. The show got False Face instead. The Dent side makes me think of Bruce at the dinner party in the 89 movie. Penguin traditionally has a white bow tie and pink/purple hat in the show.
The regular Batman and Robin are getting pricey already since they have been discontinued. I hope they do make a Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson figure. Hell I’ll take an Alfred too
McFarlane Toys needs to makee more villians from the tv serries like Mad hatter, Clock king, Minstrel, puzzler and others, ive emailed them half a dozzen about this and all i ever get is a standard reply back from them
When are they going to make at home Bruce Wayne and Dick Graysom with Alfred already?? I mean really...id love a non costume figure. Whats the point of having the library - to the batcave diorama.
I don't feel Two-Face is exactly comic book, as he looks more like the 66 Cartoon movie with William Shatner as Two-Face. But I have never read the 66 comic. *Rumor has it Clint Eastwood was going to play Two-Face on the series, but the producer wasn't a fan of Eastwood 🤷

Love Batman ‘66! Can’t wait to get the Manor. 🤙🏽
Looks great 😁
This series of figures has potential despite the articulation being basic. However, I do like the figures can go into vehicles. So that is a trade-off. You can add some custom pieces to round things out for this diorama set. I like the overall comic book and classic TV show mixture going on. I wonder if this set could work along side other 6-inch figures lingering within my collection.
Great review! I recommend the Mattel Batmobile for your figures. The McFarlane Batmobile is too small, and the figures don't fit.
Its great that McFarlane is doing the batman66 action figures i hope one day he let's us know that he's doing the Batman movies characters from the 90.
"Right off the BAT"!? 😂
Next playset should be something like Catwoman's giant mousetrap.
My question is, where do people find these? I only ever find Bat Alfred and Black and White Batman. Any suggestions?
Took me a while to cotton on that Two-Face is supposed to be based on William Shatner since that version of the character comes from the second animated movie they did.
someone over at mcfarlane must watch the weekly or the lives they got you
9:06 It's the Batphone, Suh.
WHERE CAN I FIND THOSE ACTION FIGURES
looks like this diorama and batboat scales better than the batcave and batmobile!
They're defo gonna put out Wayne, Dick and likely the mayor, chief and alfred. I only wish the library could connect to the bat cave in a multi layered playset
Two-Face is from the animated film. That’s Shatner right there.
Does the Bat Boat float? Can you play with it in the bath tub? Asking for me.
But does it float?
I don't mind the basic articulation but my only gripe is the hip joints could have been designed better, aesthetically. A basic ball joint would have been so much better. Those who argue "retro articulation" don't seem to fathom the elbow, knees and shoulders are modernised joints. It's a great line that could have real legs if they go into other retro media - Superman 78, Batman 89, etc.
Ooo, do they have Vincent Price Egg Head ?
Bill Shatner did Two-Face in the animated special with Adam West and Burt Ward a few years back, and not sure if you are aware of that fact?
I want a 66 batcopter
Twoface on the green side looks a little Grinch Like am i the only one that sees that lol
If McFarlane truly wanted that Joker to be on model with the trading card, they would have had flesh colour around his neck- in the illustrations on the cards the Joker’s face is painted!
Awesome
Where is Steve Martin as King Tut? Man, where was laser sculpting when I first watched the reruns in the early 70's?
I just bought 2 eggheads . Really bummed about those crotches . These would be awesome if they had rotation
egghead sad☹☹☹
I want the lunchbox
Will Robo get more Batman 66 figures? Will his collection grow any larger than it already is? Tune in next time! Same Robo time, Same Robo channel!
Why not Mcfarlane does the same good work with line Dc super powers? It would be great
Needs a commissioner Gordon and police chief.
The regular Batman and Robin are getting pricey already since they have been discontinued. I hope they do make a Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson figure. Hell I’ll take an Alfred too
McFarlane Toys needs to makee more villians from the tv serries like Mad hatter, Clock king, Minstrel, puzzler and others, ive emailed them half a dozzen about this and all i ever get is a standard reply back from them
The Penguin Joker Riddler was done better by mattel. The Mustache isn't their and mattel has it
When are they going to make at home Bruce Wayne and Dick Graysom with Alfred already?? I mean really...id love a non costume figure. Whats the point of having the library - to the batcave diorama.
I’m shocked Robo actually got mcfarlane figures again 😂
That scale would rule Supreme for there Multiverse line.
Come on lol that's a bat phone behind the shifter
I don't feel Two-Face is exactly comic book, as he looks more like the 66 Cartoon movie with William Shatner as Two-Face. But I have never read the 66 comic.
*Rumor has it Clint Eastwood was going to play Two-Face on the series, but the producer wasn't a fan of Eastwood 🤷
Wife’s be like: stop playing with
the bat boat & play with me 🧖🏻♀️
Husband’s -be like: 🚤😑: no
