@@KatarinaPanić-d3p I will certainly give it a try in the future! At the moment I am working on a couple of diary of a wimpy kid audiobooks so once they are finished I will begin working on the 'Five named Clive' story for you :)
You have what it takes for sure with this channel. There are a few things you are missing with this video, however. Pros: - great thumbnail! (It stands out) - nice topic/title (you kept it at a moderate amount of characters) - lots of cuts (at the start) - description tags - video tags (don't forget to put the WHOLE title of the video in the channel tags, it's an easy way to get that #1 search) Cons: - it's very repetitive, add some animations. Have the character reenact the scenes from each page with PNG images and backgrounds. - have more presence at the start of the video. maybe add a suspense sound effect at the start of the video to attract the audience to exactly what you are talking about. - I felt like it was dragging a bit. I know you are reading a book but most people will just skip constantly when watching this video. On average I would say most people would probably watch this video for 7 min MAX. This is bad for you guys mainly because if the retention gets skewed then TH-cam will not like to post your videos on anyones fyp mainly due to people watching half of the video's run time from mostly skipping. - add more cuts. It felt like there were a bunch of pauses and it got very boring due to that.
Thank you very much for your input and thoughts I really really appreciate it!! I will definitely take everything you said on board :) I think one of your points about needing more cuts to keep the audience engaged is something I need to examine further! The issue I faced is when zooming in on the JPG images it decreases the quality of the drawings and the writing gets all fuzzy and I did not want to lessen my audiences viewing pleasure so I had to find a middle ground. (for context because of the size of each page they are relatively quite small in comparison to a 1920x1080 screen size. My initial plan was to zoom in on each section as we read through it to retain a level of suspense which is something your comment addresses) That being said I am grateful for your thoughts and this will surely help me moving forward so once again thank you very much! I hope you have a great day my friend :D
you need to make the videos more faster paced. ive only watched the intro (which is the most important part because 75-90% of audiences leave during the intro), and there are breaks and clips every two words. that type of editing wont keep audience retention up and will drive people with lesser attention spans (almost all of our generation, including me) to leave fast. you need to do everything you can to keep audiences captivated, and that means moving through the video faster, ever though it will decrease the length of the video. you don't want to do it too fast though, because the algorithim is still based on overall watchtime.
Thank you very much for your thoughts and input! When editing this video one of my primary goals was to create a captivating intro. I tried my best but there is always room for improvement and I will try my best to improve moving forward :) That being said before uploading on TH-cam I sent this video to some friends so I could listen to their thoughts and they all seemed to really like the intro so I think alot of it is down to personal preference but all in all I do agree with everything you said bro and your feedback is much appreciated thank you
