Actually they aren’t correct about how they change color. Chameleons change color by changing the structure of their cells to filter out wavelengths. They use structure and not pigment to mimic colors

Change color (partly) depending on mood?!!! Omg I love that. And it’s nice to know that they do it as camouflage is just a myth… for lack of a better word. It’s always great to have the facts. Much better than a “theory”. Especially in this day and age.

They're very fragile... When I was young there we're a lot of camelions where I lived... People used to catch them and make habitats for the, or just for fun 😢. I noticed when construction increased, and the woods I used to wonder around disappeared... So did the camelions... And ladybugs.

I guess we never really documented something like that, I don’t know of many poisonous thorns that are where chameleons live but my guess it would die.

They are also on the island of Cyprus, I lived there 15 years and I sometimes found them hidden in trees and bushes, but small version, I took one home one day to show my daughter, when handled, it turned black color and hissed, I suppose the black was turned on through anger, made me laugh though.
They are also in Florida here in the US.
