Using your UK kettle to make pot noodles! You're truly a Brit now: no turning back! 😉
Mrs B Yes it's annoying, but they do spell it differently over there too.
It’s not an Electric kettle in another video he heated it in the hob they don’t have electric kettles over there
@@mcnoface8000 I know it's not an electric kettle but it's still a UK kettle as it was sent by one of his British fans.
In the UK, Pot Noodle markets itself really well - one of their tag lines was ‘it’s dirty and you want it’. See if you can find the ad - it’s hilarious.
the pot noodle horn pmsl ye loved that advert cant beleive they got away with it lol
I remember when they first came out. They used to push themselves as food rom the Wild West
Pot Noodle are really good at marketing, they always make hilarious and memorable advertisements.
Nooooooooooo!
Stir the Pot Noodle! The sachet is additional garnish and the noodles already have the flavour in the pot. The fill line is printed on the outside, and you need to stir it after a couple of minutes. They shouldn't be like soup, the noodle sauce should be sticky onto them.
Yep this is true, the seasoning is at the bottom that's why you do the 2 minute stir, the sauce is just an extra topping
Yorkshireman here. Moved to US 20 years ago. Never been able to find a cheap noodle better than Pot Noodle. And they come in SO many more flavors. Nobody can create powdered chemical flavoring like the British!
A lot more chemicals in American foods, the FDA allows things Europe has banned coz they're toxic, they allow 5 growth hormones in cattle that are banned in the EU and some are classed as "carcinogenic" yet the FDA says "nah...it'll be fine"
You need a Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodle.
That one comes with hot sauce, it pisses all over the flavours of those 2!
Nah. They don't have any taste it's just heat. And not that hot either.
You can eat them without the hot sauce to better experience the flavour, or just add a little dash.
I don't know how easy they'd be to find over there but we have loooaads of different flavours of pot noodles, BBQ pulled pork, bombay badboy which is a bit spicy, spare rib etc. Etc. Would like to see you try some of those. They also do pasta pots now too, the carbonara one is fire!
Don't forget the other original flavours of Chow Mein, Sweet & Sour and Original Curry. I personally like the Jerk Chicken flavoured one when you can get it
@@BigAlCapwn Im not a fan of sweet and sour but the others are all good lol! I mean they're bad, but they're so good!
They did a sausage casserole flavour a few years back and were handing them out at a freshers fayre.
Don't forget the "Lost the Pot" range that comes in a packet rather than a pot! You just empty the packet into a saucepan and cook them on the hob...genius! 😄
As a university student in the UK, I have eaten pot noodles so much, to the point where I’m never going to eat them again after graduation. So sick of them lol
Cannot look at a chicken and mushroom pot noodle ever again. One of those times in your life you feel sick just thinking about it.
@@pamelaadam9207 Yep... you think you'll never hit the pot again....but somehow
Fun fact: Pot Noodles are actually vegetarian. That's not really chicken.
@@girlsdrinkfeckI lived on pot noodles when I was at uni, they have all the nutrients your body needs apparently. I survived on them anyway! Lol 😉

The US ones were actually the original Japanese brand!! They even have a Cup Noodle museum in Japan!
My favourite JT expression: "hold on!" 😂. I made a bet with myself at the start of this video that would predict when you were about to say "hold on!" and I aced it! Love you mate! 💙
"Off brand" - cup noodles and pot noodles. Nissan cup noodles are the original and probably most popular in the world. Pot noodles is the main brand in the UK.
@@stevelomas4119 he didn't do the pot noodle right, ya don't just let it sit, ya have to stir it halfway through to get the flavour in there
@@Zephyr616 I was replying to the OP who was bigging Nissan noodles up as being the biggest brand in the world...means nothing if they taste crap.
@@stevelomas4119 I prefer ko-lee sure, but you can't deny Nissan cup noodles are the original Japanese instant ramen, the rest wouldn't exist without them, they even have a huge museum in Japan. So regardless of taste you can't deny their standing in ramen history
Gotta give a pot noodle a good stir get the flavour mixed
Lol I was going to say that, all the flavour is at the bottom.
I watched this while eating a pot noodle. I used to work in the factory that made them, Golden Wonder.
Instant noodles were first introduced by an Asian chap in the early seventies. However, 'Golden Wonder' in the UK gave the world the all in one 'Pot Noodle' in around '77. I think the idea came from a guy who was in the British forces in either Hong Kong or Singapore. He just put 2 and 2 together and made millions!
Instant noodles were invented in Japan in the 50's.
The instrument cup noodle was also first made in Japan by the same company, nissin.
Love the videos, mate, keep ‘em coming!! - Why not try an old English favourite - beans on toast?? You guys over there don’t do beans on toast - you’re missing out!😉
cheesy beans on toast even better lol for breakfast lunch or dinner lol
@@mattferguson9532 each to their own some like ketchup ( not me ) Crosse and Blackwell fruity is really good 👍
We’re good at making these sort of flavours. I expect that is why Lays bought Walkers.
Ahhh this will explain the recent change to packaging and most of all the flavour. We noticed this other day and wondered why walkers taste like crap now we got another bag thinking we had a bad batch but no it's just Americans changing thing that didnt need changing and making them really taste bad. No more walkers for us unfortunately now 🙄
I buy the Tesco own brand ones now, packaged simi!army to Walkers and taste as Walkers used to. Cheaper as wel!.
So glad you're making use of the kettle. Soon you'll wonder how you lived without it
JT, I love the fact that you explore, not only different cultural aspects beyond the US, but also snacks, foods, etc. When the time comes, I hope to see some travel vids of you in the UK one day, your appreciation will be all the more enhanced by the experience. Well done you and another great video.
Something random I noticed, UK cookers have the knobs at the front unlike yours. This is so you don't have to lean over something hot and burn yourself to turn off the power.
Love the videos pal ☺️
Pot Noodle are the main brand when it comes to instant noodles in the UK but are a fair bit more expensive than most supermarket unbranded noodles. The Original Curry flavour is probably the best, they also need stirring a bit as they cook to keep the powder from settling. The US Cup Noodles here looked to be much cheaper but not sure if there is an equivalent to Pot Noodle in the US
Extra nice between 2 slices of bread & butter !
You can also "crack an egg" into the pot before you add the hot water (and stir it in)
for an "eggy" Pot Noodle
I've never heard of doing that before....I've had proper ramen with a fried egg on top but never knew you could crack an egg into a pot noodle like that.....gonna have to try that man thanks!
The first time my nephew made a pot noodle for himself he didn’t read the instructions and put it dry in the microwave. The house stank for days!
My little sister put a Rustlers burger in the microwave for 60 minutes rather than 60 seconds, we had a similar experience, the house reeked for days. Still wonder how she didn't realise her quick and easy burger was still cooking an hour later 😂
Oh I love a Bombay bad boy Pot Noodles LOL
I really wish he tried a Bombay Bad Boy.. With the added hot sauce that thing has a bit of kick to it. Full runny nose spec.
Yeah that’s what I’m saying, such a better flavour. Also he likes spicy flavours.
Cleansed your pallet, I nearly died a crap pot noodle with a fizzy drink 😂 Gordon Ramsey eat your heart out.
U have to mix them, the seasoning is already in there, the sauce are extra flavour, if u want it 😉
As soon as you mentioned hot sauce, I was thinking you should try the Bombay Bad Boy flavour Pot Noodle.
someone please send this lad some marmite, I wanna see his reaction so bad lmao
We generally call them all "Pot Noodles" in UK as it's the brand that originally launched them here in 1977. Pot Noodles are still the "premium" brand in the UK.
Nissin soba noodles are the premium noodles over here now by a long shot if you have never tried them I suggest you do they are by far the best ready noodles I have ever eaten

Looks like you prepared the Pot Noodles incorrectly, you’re supposed to stir halfway through because otherwise the broth powder clumps at the bottom
Yeah... the sachet is just extra optional flavour, the main flavouring is in powder at the bottom of the pot, so you need to let it soak a minute then stir it all up to break up the noodles a bit and pick up all the main flavouring.
Never in my life have i done that , when i put the sauce in i stir the whole thing all at the same time save a job

Pot Noodle has to be Bombay Bad Boy
I literally had a C&M Pot Noodle an hour before i saw this video, LOL. Couple of things JT, the power/seasoning is already in the Pot Noodle and hence why you don't need to add it from a sachet. Also you should stir the Pot Noodle half way through waiting after adding the water as well as just before you eat them.

I think you are supposed to replace the cover to keep the heat in until cooked for best effect too.
Glad you like ours I pour water on put a small plate on top leave 5.mins so they really thicken up and give a great stir around then add sauce mmmmm
You should try the classic curry Pot Noodle. When I was growing up, a favourite Saturday lunch was curry Pot Noodle and chips (fries)...all served on a plate! Yum 😋
A person i used to know said put the sauce in first then once you add the hot water it helps swirl the sauce all around the noodles. Never tried it but might do that tomorrow.

I lived on chicken and mushroom pot noodles when I was a teenager, made a sandwich out of it too, I'm 44 now and still occasionally eat them
They don’t taste the same as they did in the 90s though, but I have a solution.. Add a veg oxo cube and Real soy sauce, not the watered down crap they put in now 😂
Yes the UK Pot Noodle is a brand made by Golden Wonder who normally make crisps (chips) , there are many different flavours sausage cassarole , chicken jerky , chilli beef , chicken chow mein , mac & cheese , sticky rib , BBQ Steak , sweet n sour , beef & tomato , chicken & mushroom , curry flavour & the bombay bad boy .
With Supernoodles the flavo(u)ring is already in as well. The sachet is an extra sauce.
Pot Noodle ‘Bombay Bad Boy’ for me. Name speaks for itself.👍
JT, ever thought of reacting to the Queen's Coronation video? You'd have to get an edited version since the service is long but it may be cool to see you react to the young 25 yr old Elizabeth on her first day as monarch!
I see the kettle is getting some use , keep it up bro almost half way to 100k
It's far easier to use an electric kettle, they automatically switch off when the water boils so no risk of scalding yourself. They also have fairly narrow spouts so you're not spilling boiling water all over your hands.
Who’s going to tell him about super noodle sandwich?
Has too be white bread and real butter, non of that veg oil rubbish, and a curry pot noodle😉😋😂🤣
Super noodles are a whole different ball game. You should definitely give those a try at some point. We love bacon ones or recently we've had chicken ones with chicken dippers and then grated cheese over it all. Half noodles, half dipper on the fork with the cheese thats melted. So good and that was a 'use up what we have meal' so an unexpected find.

I only ever stir the pot noodles at the end. There is however a different brand that you have stir well because the powder does just stick to the bottom.
I love pot noodles but i don't follow the instructions, because they want you to add too much water which reduces the flavour, so i probably add maybe 20% less water than what they tell ya.
I like it as a drink as well at the end. I put in probably 20% more than they say
I only add water till it touches the top of the noodles then mix it in ! The recommended amount of water is too much to me :)

Pot Noodle is the most popular brand in the UK. My favourite is Nissin Terayaki Beef from the Chinese Supermarket, or the world foods section of Tesco. They come with a sachet of sauce like Pot Noodle, and also a plastic lid on top.
Hey JT I hope you give those uk pot noodles a good stir as the flavouring powder is all at the bottom of the pot, the sauce pouches are a optional add to taste after it’s all mixed up 😉 ps love your videos
This is going to be embarrassing. In the UK the government changed the rules making companies remove most of the salt and since then Pot Noodles have been bland as hell. Coincidentally, how the hell do you make a near 18 minute video about noodles. Respect.
If only someone would invent, some sort of dispenser for salt. That way we could add more salt to food if we really want to. Only! If only!
@@rickb.4168 Not even close to being the same thing. Having salt removed during the creation process removes flavour that can't be added simply by adding salt at a later date. I've tried. Pot Noodle is actually a great example of this.
THANKS FOR NOT CALLING THEM 'RAMEN' IN THE TITLE AS THIS IS INCORRECT, CALLING THEM INSTANT NOODLES IS CORRECT SO TYSM
When I think of ramen I think of an actual noodle based meal with ingredients I've never heard of, a stick of celery sticking out the bowl and a fried egg on top......I've only had proper ramen a few times but its amazing tbh.
I never really liked "Pot Noodles" that much. However there's some really cheap beef noodles that my local convenience store sells by a company called "Koka". I love adding a bit of sweet chili sauce to those once they're cooked, it's a game changer!
When it comes to packet ramen noodles I much prefer the cheap ones by that brand I think over super noodles....super noodles are too stodgy and most of those fancy flavours taste odd, cheap curry ones are the best.
