Khanom is a small country town on the Gulf of Thailand. It has a local population of 11,000 people of all walks of life. The main sources of livelihood in Khanom are farming and fishing. The agricultural landscape is carpeted with coconut, rubber, palm oil, pineapple and banana plantations with grazing cows roaming freely. One can really enjoy laid-back lifestyle of the friendly villagers.
Khanom has several hidden surprises with unspoilt beaches, breathtaking waterfalls and interesting caves. To the north of Khanom is the beautiful natural park of Khao Luang. The waterfront of Khanom offers a breeding ground for rare pink dolphins (Sousa Chinensis). Locals here are proud of this rare animal species and wish to protect its original idyllic living environment on the coast line of Khanom. Spotting a pink dolphin is an everlasting experience for many people.
