So happy to see you partnered with Factor. My husband and I have eaten their wonderful meals for two years. They are the yummiest!!! The Sundried tomato chicken with zucchini noodles is my favorite. Back to boots, I can’t believe how easy these are!! Amazballs
@@joanlynn1702 exactly, both ends of the spectrum. AND I’m under 5’ tall…so I have had trouble with length, just like the tall girl in the comments! THIS IS JUST SO HELPFUL!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Omg. Creative overload. Rhinestones up the back? Yes. Pearls on white leather? Also yes. Steel tacks? Yup. Fringe? A big fat yes. Also, snap tape or Velcro could be used in a creative way as fasteners. What a cool way to give boots more versatility! Bravo!
I used to make similar for my son who is an actor and used to perform in Shakespeare plays. I will tell you a little secret.. whenever i would see old leather sofas thrown out, I would cut the leather from the back of the sofa.. no matter how old and run down the sofa was, the back of the sofa is always unused. Why throw out perfect leather!
Wow!!! Those fold-over boots are so cool! They are all so nice. I loved the white pair. Then I saw the olive-colored ones. They are amazing. The black pair look so good on you, too. You blow me away. You are so creative. I don't know how you come up with the patterns for each and every thing you re-create. You are amazing!
I watched this before my morning coffee. Got a creative brain buzz without caffeine. I love boots so much I wear them in the summer heat. Thank you a million times for this genius diy. It makes the process of transforming a pair into tailor made simple and accessible. Bravo Orly!
Girrrrlllll. This is the diy I didn't know I needed🎉 You did that!!! I can't wait to make my red fold over boots. I'm thinking about dyeing some white ones than finding matching fabric. I. Can't. Wait.
This is great for ppl like my daughter who has wide calf’s and most boots don’t fit her calf’s so now I can make her a pr! I’ve done this before yrs ago (literally in 1995) uuuggg shows my age 😂 but I as “leg warmers” I used an old sweater! Growing up in Alaska we didn’t have store’s to get in style fashion & shipping was worse than now! so I had to be creative 😊 I seriously made my own clothes that’s why I love Orly! She’s like a younger me from the past bringing the future 😊💕 But also brings knee ideas as well Love your Orly!
I love this!!!!!!! It will be perfect to make a thigh high version that I can add to any of my photography clients’ own booties that they bring to the shoot!
You never disappoint even if I think I couldn’t wear the fashion, I appreciate your technique, your style and your teaching skills! Keep these videos coming Orly! ❤
YEEES!😀 I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE BOOTSCOVER👍😀🤍 and you making this is so cool - imagine ALL your favorite low, ankles and so on shoes you now can make into fabulous boots and how ever you want them👍👍👍
Why do I SO want to try this and make a slight DETAIL along the seam> I used to see people do something like this with old socks and have a leg warmer look but this is SO nice. Now you understand why I LOVE boots.
Yes yes yes. All of them look sleek and high end. My favs are the olive ones with the split. Adding the strip over the seam took it up a notch. Very nice. I'll be making these with a twist👍🏾
Unbelievable! YOU uploaded this while I was wondering what to do/make with a gorgeous piece of dark green leather I happen to have in my stash! Love from Greece ❤🎉
Girl… I wanted to do this diy since four years since I discovered the gyvynchies, and predicted them to become very big again because they are cunT. Never figured it out, now hoped for a diy similar to what I want, and there it is the perfect exact diy. Thank you!
Love these ! I’ve actually had this same idea for years. I’ve been collecting for years now all the fabric & even faux fur stockpiled in my sewing room. But I’ve just have never done.🤷🏼♀️. IT IS NOW TIME ❣️Thank you for your inspiration, information & encouragement. Been a huge fan of yours for years. Love U & all your encouraging vibes. Thank you ❣️❣️❣️
You sound like me. I'm bad about drinking my one cup of coffee, getting busy, starting to feel a bit queasy & and realizing it's 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and I haven't eaten since last night. Lol Really cute idea. It's not something I could get away with wearing, considering I'm 64 years old, but something I could make for my 25 year old daughter. Lol My mind was putting studs along the seams. Since studs can come in a variety of metal finishes as well as shapes like round, square, and star, there are so many possibilities. I was also thinking on the thinner fabric, as a sewist, that reinforcing piece on the side could be stitched down close on both edges. Thanks for sharing an easy change to ankle boots. ❤
You could totally get away with wearing anything you want to wear!! there are no rules. Plus is customizable so you can make tweaks to reflect your personal style!
@TheDIYDesigner TBH, I do pretty much wear whatever I want to. No miniskirts, but that wasn't my thing anytime the style rolled around. My style is more of the Boho Hippie style. I love the long skirts made from jeans, I'll be making a few for winter since coastal Georgia's Summer and Fall are still hot and humid. Lol I've been looking at a pair of pull on linen pants I have that might be a good candidate though. Lol Thanks for all of the neat tips, trucks and modifications. ❤️
Oh this is amazing. I have a large remnant from recovering my dining room chairs. A bazillion years ago, I looked at that and thought: would make great over the knee boots....I can make the dream come true, now.
Great idea!! Thank you for sharing. For the top edge you can use the double sided tape to sharpen the edge and keep the seam allowance tag down. Blessings!
I am so happy to have found your channel! You are talented and personable. You really inspire me! I am binge watching your videos. I am already making a list of design ideas to take with me to the thrift stores. Since altering and upcycling is brand new to me, I am going to buy thrift items at the lowest price, no matter what the size. I will use these pieces to practice learning my new skills. If they turn out well, I will then donate them to my local domestic abuse center. Everybody wins!
Orly you level of creative genius is astounding! Absolutely spot on brilliant! I’d like to offer a lazy girl hack if anyone is interested. Instead of using a big and bulky traditional iron use the straightener for your hair! It will save a lot of time, fit so much better and make it much easier. Plus you can choose the exact temperature setting needed for your particular fabric to create the crispest seams! However I would recommend using parchment paper on the actual flat iron plates if you are still using it on your hair as any buildup of product could damage or stain the fabric. ❤ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦 PS-If you have a wee bit of extra money it might be wise to pick up a very inexpensive straightener to use solely on fabric. Honestly I never use my traditional iron anymore because the $12.99 straightener is far better in pretty much every way.
Love these Idea's that you have offered. Couple tips maybe I will try when I do mine and for those who don't sew. Like I said Idea's haven't tested this myself yet. But there is the heat and bond fusion that yo'u can by in different strengths instead of sewing. Another tip for me anyways to find a liner as I loved that Idea too that matches what color you are doing so it looks meant to be. That said Girl Awesome Idea's and I watched your gold and silver leaf one too. Outstanding Idea to do as I have been pricing then out and spendy. Now I can take the boots that are flaking the fake leather off that I have had for years like 10 years and repurpose them. Excellent Idea's I hate to throw out something that I can repurpose thank you so very much for that Idea and the bling Idea's. OMG My better half is going to be so mad I got new boots and supposed to get rid of old ones not anymore. LOL I will be in the dog house but so worth it. They would also be cute with the extra strip of leather on the side with the tab at the top and make your strip black suede, or whatever color your leather is. I have a pair i bought with a strip of black suede on the outside seams with the tabs at the top is where i got this from, im definitely not crafty or dyiy lol

I used to have a clothing line and this one of the jackets! It's about 10 years old...
Good idea. If I lived in a temperate climate would have done it to keep my legs warm.

This was insane ty❤
❤️👀🙂very affordable for us. Let's go diyer❤️🎉
Awesome!
Great idea girlfriend, but where's the fringe, buckles and laces? You need to add adornments!!! 😂
Very cool 😀

Could this work with high top trainers ?
What's the seam allowance for the fold over?
So how did you get them on. Is it attached to the shoes or did you just put them on then the shoes
You just slide them over your shoes, I also think you can use pants hangers to hang them up to keep them clean, but don't forget to use something soft bet. the clamps and fabric so it doesn't leave an impression. ❤
