Editing Embroidery Designs for Production Friendly Results

  • This Embroidery Medic episode is pretty much the evaluation of an experiment one of our Facebook group members did.
Being a Digitizers Dream Course student, they digitized a logo. They then sent the same logo to a respected digitizer in the industry to compare what they did to a professional's work.
I think this is an excellent idea for those who are learning; however, upon getting the file back, they noticed that the professional design had more trims than the design they digitized, and that’s when they sent it to me.
In fairness, the design is very clean, so moving nodes to fix objects was not an issue. I found that some properties could be changed, pull compensation adjustments made, and a fair bit of resequencing needed to occur. Admittedly, I re-digitized many objects, as editing them would be too much work.
Ultimately, we have a friendlier design with fewer trims, fewer color changes, and a lower stitch count… mission accomplished.
    Thanks for watching!
