Another good example would be the term 'lemon'. 'Lemons' are usually considered, in American English, as flawed or poorly manufactured cars. Meaning calling a car a 'lemon' would be an ableist slur.
I think rust is meant to represent more of the equivalent of acne. Rusty and Dusty are rusty cars themselves. Rust-eze is a Medicated Bumper Ointment meaning that it's only meant to get rid of the rust on the bumper, not the entire car. Granted, Rust-eze could expand the bumper ointment to fix other parts of the body. Like Dollar Shave doesn't just sell razors but other shaving and hygiene products. However, seeing how Rusty and Dusty sold Rust-eze to Sterling because so Lightning could have more resources to train properly (at least according to what they said in the third film), it seems like they never really expanded their business. Lightning is well-off, but that might be due his image being merchandised by Harv rather than the Rust-eze sponsor. 5:28- Yeah looking on that scene... it has not aged well. Like, it very much sounds like how in Zootopia Judy says that Nick is "not like them" and Nick says "Oh there's a them now, is it?" Much like Judy, Lightning was thinking Mater as an exception to his notion on a specific type of being rather than thinking he was wrong. The rusty cars seen in the movie were all pretty nice, normal people. Hell, Cars 2 has not aged well because of the villains and their motive of being "loser" cars that need discontinued parts in order to function in society... Like yikes. I didn't think it was a big deal... until I actually thought about how to translate the plot in a humanized fic and... the only way to do that without it somehow targeting marginalized people is if you make them Incels. Granted, none of the Lemons seen in Cars 2 are women so... yeah I work with what I'm given. Female lemons are mentioned, but in reference as an incest joke. I know Incels aren't solely male, but it's the best I can come up with. 5:39- No that's just mud. 6:49- Owen Wilson is from Texas... technically the South but I don't how involved they were in Southern history. Like compared to Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee... Shows how much American school taught its history.
@@bigguykwin the title is funny tho, love the thumbnail, but i just mean when you start talking about McQueen prejudice towards rusty cars. It's a good video tho😄
It's a Pixar movie, they put way more thought in their movies than the average kids movie filmmaker. They created how the World of Cars operates, how these cars interact with each other. Its very obvious they wanted rusty cars to be an allegory for a type of minority of kind of people who face prejudice in our world, and really wanted to hone in on the fact that Lightning Mcqueen pre-Radiator Springs is an absolute dick and awful person, and to show his growth and redemption arc throughout the film. Your the problem for not understand Pixar movies aren't kids movies
@@marvel_dc_basedyt69420 You wrote all that to say absolutely nothing. You did go as far as to make a KIDS movie racist. Again you’re the problem. Attempting to cancel culture a f*cking KIDS MOVIE. Children know nothing about racism, only people like yourself who push it and push it. Those who have to push racism are indeed the true racist among us. If you have to point it out, you have the problem. Not those of us that know that ITS A CHILDRENS MOVIE. And children don’t know what racism is. Unless someone like you is around.
Relax bro it’s obviously low key joking. Lightning is kinda racist, at the start of his first movie. He changes. They allude to this thing to plant the seed industry kids minds that racism. (Rustism😂) ain’t cool. As it’s something he does in the beginning of the movie and then stop doing. He literally says “I hate rusty cars.” Then later becomes best friends with one. It’s very clearly a theme/metaphor in the movie. A low key one, but it’s there.

I mean rusty cars make up about 13% of the carpulation yet make over 50% of accidents so . . .
This comment had me weak🤣

You 4 inch wonders are even applying that false stat to cars? Let me guess, you also believe people of certain religion secretly control the world?

Don’t know why I was recommended this video but I watched it all and didn’t regret it. Was laughing at all the quotes and names of the quoters
Lets see what Mater & Sally think about this

Lightning McQueen is one of the most insufferable main characters out of any Pixar film
It’s a children’s movie. Yet someone attempts to make it racially motivated movie. Really? Dude you’re the problem not the solution.
