Great stuff. Appreciate your simple methods for a good camper setup. I fell down the truck camper rabbit hole and wanted to find something that would work but wasn’t a complete overhaul/permanent build. Well done!
I have always been a minimalist in the truer sense of the word. I find when you look at these videos of "minimalist", I tend to think, hell that's too much stuff. I usually take my thick padded lounge chair that I sleep on. I have a sleeping bag for cooler nights. I carry, depending on how long I will be camping, some gallon jugs of water. I carry a cooler with ice. Again depending on how long I plan on camping. And I carry my fishing gear. I have two Gas One one burner butane stoves. If I am not cooking over a campfire then I use them. I have a soup pan and a cast iron skillet. Other than that, just my guitar. I will carry a buddy heater when it gets cold. But that's about it. The only electronics are battery powered lights to put in the truckbed. And my phone in case of emergency.
One of the things that I really like about it is when you're out with just one vehicle it's nice to have things simple but to have the things you need for safety and comfort and you have done that without the frills take your mind off your enjoyment of being out.
The basic set up is plenty....a place for everything...everything in its' place...I'm about to get one set up...One bonus for me...I have an 8 foot bed. Setting up an over truck tarp/awning is invaluable, and I may add a cork mat to get the junk off the footwear...Truly like the simplicity....Thanks
A couple thoughts. Without bug screens when you open the side windows, you will be inviting mosquitos and meat bees right into your living space. Kareem Abdul Jabbar might be able to reach in that open window and get something in that container. I am too short to use that system of access. What do you do for water, shower and fresh food storage? I like your simple system. As soon as I find a shell I will copy it. Thx.
Really enjoyed the simplicity of your set up! Will be doing a similar build for my older 2002 F-150. Comments/questions…have you thought of putting the items under your bed into a plastic container? A co2 monitor? A floor matt for dirty shoes? Anxious to follow along and see you tweets!!👍
Since that video I have added several things, but not all that you mentioned. I like the idea of being more minimalistic, but it sure is good to have comfort gear when the space is available. Thanks for watching!
🇺🇲🇺🇦 Hey, have you ever thought to get a couple of those long arm grabby things that are used to pick up trash or used to reach items up high in your kitchen cabinets etc.,...i have four of them at home that i have upstairs , down stairs, one in my laundry room and one in my garage. I have used them to capture spiders and believe it or not i used one to capture a garden snake i relocated to a far off area. I really dont like touching snakes and i certainly wont kill a friendly one so using the grabber worked for me. So, sorry about going the long way to make my point here but what i wanted to say was that having the grabber to use inside your camper shell could be very helpful in reaching items not within arns reach. I'd carry one in the cab and one in the back. Hope this suggestion helps. 🙏☮🙏
I literally just came across the invoice for that shell this past weekend! The description says it's the ARE CX with "side doors with vents". I have really enjoyed those windows.
Nice. Everyone has thier set up. For me, I'm re-thinking it. I have a Dodge RAM 1500 "shorty". That's the standard cab with the medium bed at 6'4" The quad cabs actually have the short box of 6' But what I'm going to do is get rid of my SnugTop with the extra 6" height, and go with one that is a full 1' higher then the cab. I should have known mine wouldn't be high enough for comfort. There's just barely sitting headroom from a bunk. As I'm gettiong older, I need more. I'm tired of having to bend over almost double to "walk" around or figthing to get my britches up. If I have to build it, so be it.
Thank you for sharing sir, I like the simplicity of your set up and your video gets right to the point. Appreciate you!
You are very welcome!
If you have a backpacker mentality, it's easy to adapt to a truck, or any type of camping.
You’re absolutely correct about that.
Great stuff. Appreciate your simple methods for a good camper setup. I fell down the truck camper rabbit hole and wanted to find something that would work but wasn’t a complete overhaul/permanent build. Well done!
I work construction out of my truck, so I definitely have to have a setup to easily move in and out of the truck.

Nice set up! Simple and functional.
Glad you like it!

Under rated channel awesome video I'm hoping to build something like it and drive from Michigan to Alaska
Yessir
@@BlakeKyserLive lol you found my comment
Michigan to Alaska would be an epic trip in a truck camper!
@@BlakeKyserLive yes it would
Very nice! I have a cot in my camper top setup, easy in and out and comfy. Do more videos on a camping trip, you have a good setup. 🤓
Thanks 🙏🏼 Happy Trails

That 8 foot bed would definitely be nice! I love hearing what other viewers are planning for their camper. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you for your advice.
Dude, awesome video. Thanks a bunch.
Glad you liked it!
Love your setup! Thanks for sharing! I’d love to see more about your tarp awning and your cook system!
Thanks Becky! I definitely plan to show the tarp, cooking, and toilet in more detail.
Waiting to watch your camping trips. Snow road trips. Thanks.
I have a trip planned for the end of January. We don’t get snow very often around here, but I would like some snow camping!
Just came across your channel. My kind of set up. New subscriber.
Man, I'm glad you like it! Thank you for subscribing! Weather is getting really nice, so I'll be camping and creating more content for you.
Awesome video and set up! Me and my friend are going to go to Alaska someday and we were thinking about taking truck campers like this!
I really hope my truck camper gave you some good ideas for yours. You've got to make that trip happen!
I have a 2014 Ford Explorer XLT I'm going to convert. First thing I need to do is take out the back seats, (with a little help).🙃

Glad you enjoyed it! I look forward to our next outing!
love the camper set up! Need to get MTV Cribs out to see you!
Definitely!! Hahaha!

I think a grabber would be a good addition to my set-up. Also it would be nice to have when I come across trash around campsites!
Hi handsome. Great channel and topic. Stay safe and God bless you. ❤
I love the awning style windows on that ARE shell ! Do you happen to remember the model number or name of this ?
I literally just came across the invoice for that shell this past weekend! The description says it's the ARE CX with "side doors with vents". I have really enjoyed those windows.
@@TheBigTLife Thank you very much for taking the time for me much appreciated sir .

I would get a taller cap too if I did it all over again.
You should have a carbon dioxide detector with you when you use that heater just to be safe.
You are right about that, and I have since put a detector in my camper. Thank you for the comment!
Love watching this! You really need to look into *Promo SM*!!!
Great video!
Thanks for the visit!
