This actually made me tear up a little bit because I had so many Disney movies in my VHS collection that I STILL have, and this was one of my favorite films. Also, now that I'm a professional musician/flautist having played the parts for Beauty & the Beast the musical, I have WAAYYYY more respect for Disney soundtracks. Those instrumental parts are challenging!
Books were my lifeline so many times growing up. Exploring all kinds of worlds was wonderful, my imagination ran wild. This song brings that joy to life and makes me eager to pick up a book again.
@@tesslichtman7302No, if you listen she clearly said “that”, not “I’ll”. Plus it makes more sense because it’s a metaphor to describe his depression as dragons symbolize his inner demons.
As a writer, this song just hits home for me. It describes why I love telling stories in such a beautiful way. When I write something, it's almost like sewing a piece of my heart and mind into a book and sharing it with others. Stories have always been so precious to me, and now I get to give that to others around the world, and it fills me with the deepest joy. =)
This is good as just a song, even if it weren't from one of my favorite Disney movies. Beauty and The Beast and The Little Mermaid are completely tied as my favorite Disney movies and Belle and Ariel are my favorite princesses. What makes my heart so happy is that Paige O'Hara, voice of Belle, and Jodi Benson, voice of Ariel, are actually friends in real life, so my favorite princesses are actually friends! 😊❤❤❤❤
This could easily have been in the original. One of the best Disney songs. "I Remember" from Ariel's Beginning too, but they always get overlooked for being from sequels.
As a music Major, I always wondered where I had heard this song before it took me years before I finally heard the two songs in close proximity. I heard the song "Mr lonely" by Bobby Vinton and a couple weeks later I was watching beauty and the beast with my girlfriend and it hit me like a God damn train. The chorus where Belle sings "I will read him stories in picture books" Is the same Chorus melody from Mr.lonely "Lonely, I am so lonely, I ain't got no one" I'm not trying to shout plagiarism or anything I just think it's interesting how it Irked me for years that I couldn't figure out where I heard this until it finally happened about 2 weeks ago
When I get to know him We'll find more things to say One day I will reach him There has to be a way Everyone needs someone He must need someone, too When I get to know him better Here's what I will do I'll read him stories From picture books All filled with wonder Magic worlds where The impossible Becomes the everyday We'll find a mountaintop And some moonbeams To sit under I'll lead because I know the way So much to discover I do it all the time I could live inside bright pages Where the words all rhyme We will slay the dragons That still follow him around And he'll smile, yes he'll smile As his dreams leave the ground Stories and stories 'Bout mermaids, kings And sunken treasure Magic worlds where the impossible Becomes the everyday I know a tiny place Just a dot, too small to measure I'll take him there I know the way Stories 'bout heroes Who overcame their deepest sorrow They'll put hope into his heart again He'll cherish every day He'll find a better world And the strength to face tomorrow I'm sure that when he knows the way He'll want to stay
I know this film has mixed reviews but I actually loved it because it showed how the beast didn’t conquer his vindictiveness and cruelty overnight, therefore his eventual redemption in the official film feels more real. Forte pulls him towards despair and Belle pulls him towards hope. In the climatic scene with the rose and book, he realizes he has a choice. By conquering his enemy Forte, he conquers himself as well.
This wasn't such a bad song. It would have really worked if the movie had showed the beasts character development, and how he was getting kinder, like in the original
My feelings about The Enchanted Christmas have dampened a lot as I've gotten older --- particularly because of how absolutely horrible the Beast is throughout almost the entire thing --- but I do love the songs. A lot of times the music in these low-budget Disney sequels was so-so. Songs like "Stories" and "As Long As There's Christmas" hold a special place in my heart though.
in my opinion, the best sequel do a Disney movie has to be Cinderella 3. it doesn’t seem low budget at all and the songs are amazing, and the story is brilliant. I agree that this sequel to beauty and the beast is okay, but this song in particular is l beautiful
Supremeoverlorde, I actually am a fan of The Enchanted Christmas because it shows how the Beast didn’t simply conquer his dark side overnight so his redemption feels more real. Forte pulls him towards despair while Belle pulls him towards hope and in the climatic scene with the rose and book he realizes he has a choice. By conquering his enemy he conquers himself as well.
@@lukasmiller486 The thing is though... that while the Beast's attitude change in the original film happens pretty fast, it's, in my opinion, the only way the romance works. A big part of Belle's character is that she is compassionate and forgiving, but it's kind of insulting to see her take the kind of abuse and cruelty he puts her through in Enchanted Christmas and then forgive him for it immediately --- especially when she wouldn't even give him the time of day in the original until started treating her with a bit of respect. Enchanted Christmas makes it seem like Belle is constantly trying to save the Beast and pick him apart to find the good in him, which isn't romantic imo. It's destructive. Not sure if you've ever seen the series Once Upon a Time, but the Beauty and the Beast story in that show is depicted like that. And I'm not a fan.
Tbh it was the point, wasn't it? I somehow found it very dark after I rewatch it. In the beginning, Forte talked to Fife how he planned to destroy the whole castle. Plus he was also keeping Beast deppressed and lured him to destroy the rose. By this, they all would die and end their misery in such desolate state. It indeed have an implied motive to do suicide tho. Forte was trying to make Beast hopeless so he wouldn't think of any other way. Thank goodness in this song Belle affirmed that THERE IS another way
🤗🤗*Sings that song to Professor Snape because she is seeing past his sadness and anger (just like Belle did to the Beast), and she is trying to see past his sadness and pain. Like Belle, Kathryn knew that somewhere deep down Snape has a good heart just like the Beast* Hope to hear from you soon
It's a song about depression. The singer has been through it too and is hoping to help the subject get through it and find joy in life, telling him stories of people who overcome hardship and hoping it will inspire him to live.
I agree. As a french speaker, I prefer a lot of the english versions of the disney songs except for The beauty and the beast (the lyrics are great, I only speak about the singing). Sometines I have the impression that she sings off key.

Underrated and under-appreciated. This song is phenomenal!
Agree period
💯
seriously 💯
Underrated Disney movie. One of the better sequels IMO.

Isn’t it “ we will slay the dragons THAT still follow him around” ? Like a metaphor for his demons following him around.
Yes I loved how Disney used magical creatures to describe depression in an appropriate manner 😊
I think she said “I’ll” still follow him around.
@@tesslichtman7302 sounds weird to me lol but ok

THAT is correct, indeed! Another mistake was in "I could live inside right pages", which should read "bright pages"
How has this not been done in Disney World Live Action? One of the best hidden gems💎 💎 💎 💎 💎
I love this song!

This is such a beautiful song. The melody and lyrics hold so much weight.
This song is so much better than I remember 😭♥️♥️♥️
This could easily have been in the original. One of the best Disney songs. "I Remember" from Ariel's Beginning too, but they always get overlooked for being from sequels.
This song resonates with me because I love books and reading so much. This song describes why I love it.
I watch this movie every Christmas. Simply a must!
these straight to VHS songs did NOT have to go this hard, and yet -
this masterpiece is embedded forever in my eternal jukebox brain
This is the love language of us book lovers
like the movie or not (specialy compared to the "other sequel") the musics gave me more chills than the original, specialy this one and Forte's.
This song legit gives me chills still to this day. Best animated sequel around
🎵This is one of the best disney songs out there🎤

Still love it!💖 always have always will❤️❤️
I've been watching this movie EVERY NIGHT before I go to bed for the past 5 weeks. I love this movie this movie is my childhood.
Well it’s been 5 years now, are you still doing that?
When I get to know him
We'll find more things to say
One day I will reach him
There has to be a way
Everyone needs someone
He must need someone, too
When I get to know him better
Here's what I will do
I'll read him stories
From picture books
All filled with wonder
Magic worlds where
The impossible
Becomes the everyday
We'll find a mountaintop
And some moonbeams
To sit under
I'll lead because I know the way
So much to discover
I do it all the time
I could live inside bright pages
Where the words all rhyme
We will slay the dragons
That still follow him around
And he'll smile, yes he'll smile
As his dreams leave the ground
Stories and stories
'Bout mermaids, kings
And sunken treasure
Magic worlds where the impossible
Becomes the everyday
I know a tiny place
Just a dot, too small to measure
I'll take him there
I know the way
Stories 'bout heroes
Who overcame their deepest sorrow
They'll put hope into his heart again
He'll cherish every day
He'll find a better world
And the strength to face tomorrow
I'm sure that when he knows the way
He'll want to stay

Me too
I love this song ♥️♥️♥️
Not sure if I’m the only one, but this song sounds like the perfect tribute for the Disney Renaissance
Such an underrated song

I have so much nostalgia hearing this
My boyfriend loves beauty and the beast so I'm trying to learn the songs
Ebony Serenade Oh that’s wonderful! I’ve never heard of a boy liking beauty and the beast, that’s so interesting.
Well here's another XD
Beauty and the beast is one of my all time favourite movies I use to watch it all the time when I was younger
Anonymous Person We exist you know. I love this song when I was a kid till this day. It’s just a beautiful song and the movie was great too.
It sounds like she's trying to talk him out of suicide
Katika Harris makes the songs meaning even more powerful.😍
Well around that time the beast was heavily depressed it was Christmas night when he and the castle were cursed

Because I really think that it is so beautiful and so lovely animation music and in the whole world 💝
This version is better than the French version even if I'm French and that I love the French version 💖Sorry I said the word "French" lot of time😂😂😂

I'm mexican but I love how powerful her voice is.
The last line of the song "I'm sure when he knows the way, he'll want to stay" was deep. Anyone have any ideas why he would want to stay?

Before the Elsa fandom there was belle.
Wish I could find the sheet music :(
@Fee Lynn I'd love to hear it
That’s Paige o hara
where can find this song on iTunes if not where can buy the song track
Does anyone know where I can buy the piano sheet music for this? I can't find it anywhere and would love to learn it!
This instrumental is in the polor express
Really?
It sounds a little like the song ‘Believe’ from the Polar Express
both use the same motif from Jean Sibelius - Symphony No. 5 in E flat major
That's what i thought
i think that Justin Timberlake - Mirrors sound a loot like the chorus of this song
I want to buy this song so bad on amazon prime. But can't find it. :(
Not on iTunes either. 😕
You can buy a cd of it and play it in your car or something.
Just download it off TH-cam. With TH-cam downloader x
