As a former Roman Catholic myself, I affirm everything bro Mark said in the video. Some of you didn't even probably finish the video, he never said a Catholic won't go to Heaven because he's a Catholic, they won't go to heaven because he has rejected Jesus Christ only by grace through faith! Put your feelings aside and be humble to let the word of God teach you.
@@destinedbe4birth Thanks for listening and for affirming God’s Word! In many of the comments I have been labeled a hater. I love everyone, including Catholics, that is why I want them to hear the good news!

@@answersfromscriptureonline No one denies that salvation is found in Jesus' work. However, He created a Church, a visible one. You are Catholic to the degree that you believe Catholic doctrine, such as Jesus saves us through His death, we are saved through baptism into the Trinity, and that a person subscribes to the Catholic Bible as God's Word, for example.
@@answersfromscriptureonline This is true and not in man. However, we don't put are faith in the Pope, he is a figurehead to lead the church. If the Catholic or Orthodox church did not exist for the 1600 years before protestants existed, do you really think Christianity would have continued to exist as a major religion. Not that size matters, but why do protestants continue to break apart all the time into thousands of different groups. If this is true, why not hate other protestant churches as much as you hate Catholics. Our world is in good hands with a large amount of catholics orthodox and catholics, all of us are threatened now. We ot to put aside minor differences, otherwise none will exist.
@ I do not believe we are saved through baptism into the trinity. We are saved by grace through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast. I do not subscribe to the Catholic Bible as God’s Word.
1) The Bible says in the Book of John, “unless you are born of water and spirit (baptism) you shall not enter the kingdom of God”. 2) Basic history will show you that the Catholic Church gave the world the canon of scripture. 1000 yrs later, Protestants removed 7 books. The book that you try to proof text out of was given to you by the Catholic Church.
Nor all Catholics are Roman Catholics there are millions of Eastern Rite Catholics Maronite Catholics, Byzantine Catholics etc. Anti Catholics love using the word "Roman" Roman Catholics is just another word for Latin Rite Catholics which is what I am
That is why I distinguished between Catholic and Roman Catholic. But the larger take away is that all need salvation regardless of how their religion otherwise subcategorizes them.
Normally I never comment on a video. I don't even know why exactly I came across this video. Probably because my relationship with Jesus is important to me, as it is to you, and my TH-cam history seems to be heading in that direction and fits in with that, as does the video. The video is good and we believe that Christ is the way, the truth and the life. I also understand the point of the video. Simple and perhaps I misunderstood it, English is not my native language... But at 2:22... (This is not meant to be a criticism, but perhaps a brotherly hint so that there are no misunderstandings.) I think that the video does not use the most recent encyclical as an example. Perhaps we could look a little at "Nostra Aetate", which is actually about this very topic. Generally with the Second Vatican Council. A lot has happened since then... In addition, it is difficult to define a "Roman Catholic". There are many who have a baptism certificate that says Roman Catholic, but have almost nothing to do with the faith. But then there are those who live the faith and also study the scriptures and focus not on the institution but of course on Christ. Then there are 24 "partial churches" that have their own rites etc. and yet fully belong to the Catholic Church (Greek Catholic etc.). Christian ecumenism and dialogue with other believers, as well as with all people in general, since we all have the same origin from God, is also very much emphasized and the spectrum in theology has also been greatly expanded. (Precisely because there are so many "partial churches" and people also study other denominations... sometimes there is still an image of the Catholic Church that is no longer so current. (This is not an accusation, but an observation that I often make). Last but not least, thank you for the video, your testimony and please pray for me!
You have a very respectful tone in the way you comment. I know that modern encyclica vary from prior. While non-Catholics who also believe in Jesus as God’s Son, may appreciate the broader perspectives of recent Catholic theologians, the concept of evolving tradition becomes a stumbling block to current Catholics. How can that, which was once spoken ex cathedra, now be contradicted by something else spoken ex cathedra? The take away for believers within catholicism should be that the Bible is infallible and unchanging, but dogma changes and can, therefore, not be regarded as infallible. The risk involved to Catholics willing to follow this train of thought is that it may lead them to a natural conclusion of Sola Scriptura. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@answersfromscriptureonline I understand. Catholicism has been wrong in the past. So has protestantism as for example, both promoted and benefited from the slave trade, not only Catholics. This obviously has nothing to do with Catholics or Protestants, and is instead the act of individuals. Catholism is not perfect only because of the actions of individuals, however it could be. Petty differences such as Catholics calling people father; have you ever called your Dad Dad. If so you are a hypocrite, this also is a very minor sin compared to murder. Why not focus on other churches, like the false protestant ones currently, such as the ones that say Christianity is only about Love, as in God is only an emotion. It is disgusting that Pope Francis has said things like "all religion is a way to God". This is fake. Same way as a protestant saying just love each other and all sin is ok. This is also fake, however, I will not condemn a protestant because some other lunatic that calls themselves a protestant says such things. I do not put my faith in a man, such as Francis, neither do the vast majority of Catholics, but instead put their faith in God, and use the doctrines and other devices to help them, which have been proven by examples to have helped a lot of people. They are not necessary, but help. I suggest you care for your Christian brothers who change their traditions a lot less than the majority of protestants recently have.

(All copied from the protestant version of the Bible by Cynthia X) Those who are most in danger of going to hell, are those who are certain of their own salvation while they loudly condemn others: ● 1 COR 10:12..Let he who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall .. ● MATT 21:31-..Take heed lest the harlots and publicans go into the kingdom ahead of you. ● MATT 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, BUT ONLY THE NE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER who is in heaven. ● 1 COR 9:27 (Paul Speaking) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: LEST THAT BY ANY MEANS WHEN I HAVE PREACHED TO OTHERS, I MYSELF MIGHT BE CAST AWAY. ● 1 COR 4:3-5 ● 3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I DO NOT EVEN JUDGE MYSELF. (Paul does not judge himself as "Saved" the way protestants do) ● 4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. IT IS THE LORD WHO JUDGES ME. ● 5 THEREFORE JUDGE NOTHING BEFORE THE APPOINTED TIME; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God. ● HEB 10:26: If we continue to sin deliberatly, after having recieved knowledge of the truth, there is no longer a sacrifice for our sins. ● 2 Peter 2:20-22: ● 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, THE LATTER STATE IS WORSE FOR THEM THAN THE FIRST. ● 21 For IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR THEM NOT TO HAVE KNOWN THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAN AFTER THEY HAVE KNOW IT, TO TURN FROM THE HOLY COMMANDMENTS DELIVERED UNTO THEM. ● 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. ● Matthew 24:13 But THE ONE WHO ENDURES TO THE END will be saved. ● Here I'm going to add ● MATT 7:2 as well, because the surest way for you to earn hell for yourself is to condemn others to go there. The same judgement you use to judge others with will be used to judge YOU. So run that you may obtain it. ● 1 COR 9:27 (ESV) But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified. ● MATTHEW 18:8 And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. ● Romans 2:6-8 (ESV) 6 He will render to each one according to his works: 7 to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; 8 but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. ● Romans 11:22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: SEVERITY TOWARDS THOSE HO HAVE FALLEN, but God’s kindness to you, PROVIDED THAT YOU CONTINUE IN HIS KINDNESS. OTHERWISE YOU TOO WILL BE CUT OFF. ● Philippians 2:12 (ESV) Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, ● 1 John 3:10 (ESV) By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. ● 1 John 5:3 (ESV) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. ● 1 John 5:16-17 (ESV) 16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life--to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. 17 All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death. ● PHILLIPIANS 2:12 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING. ● COLOSSIANS 1:24 I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for His body’s sake, which is the church... ● 2 PETER 2: 20-22 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,”[a] and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”

Not unless he or she is Born Again which does not come about by baptism. Catholics think the New Birth takes place through the medium of their church. The New Birth follows a kind of repentance that Catholics and some Protestants confuse with sorrow for sin or penance. The kind of repentance that leads to a whole new self admits that the self is the cause of sin. That admission when full orbed enables one to cry out to God for a new heart, one that would feel at home in heaven
I bet you are a saint sir. Never sin, unlike us evil Catholics, even though we are very against what the current world wants. Can people quit using the "call no man father" thing? Finish the verse it condemns people from using the word teacher too. Which also means you can't say doctor, since doctor means teacher. And if that isn't enough, if call no man Father is enough to condemn you to hell, then St. Paul is burning with the Popes. "I am appealing to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I have become during my imprisonment." Philemon verse 10. Or how about 1 cor. 4:14-15 “I am not writing this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For though you might have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers. Indeed, in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel." If you cannot engage with such a basic, biblical, concept beyond a low hanging fruit where the Lord was obviously using hyperbole, when that explicit word is used later on by an Apostle, and arguably the most important one, you cannot expect anyone to take your opinions other topics seriously. And as a final aside, the Church has condemned the idea you can work your way into heaven since at least St. Augustine and the condemning of Pelagianism. It just doesn't hold that belief alone is enough, but you need an active faith operating in love. See the following quotes James 2:24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. Galatians 5:6 "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love" (watch out for this one, it's from St. Paul and he is hell because he called himself peoples father). James 2:19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe-and shudder! Phillipians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, (again St. Paul and he's in hell so watch out). Absolutely nothing in this video is remotely close to what the Church teaches, or has ever taught. Please pick up a catechism and read it. Disagreements are fine, but quit assuming that the Church teaches what YOU think it teaches.
@@irritated888 Wow, you used many random verses to refute many things that I neither said nor implied. One of the main problems with your arguments is that I have talked with thousands of Catholics in countries all over the world. When I ask them how certain they are of eternal life (notice I John 5:13), 99% or more refer immediately to their own human effort. “I try to live by the 10 commandments, I try to be a good neighbor, I was baptized,” etc. Almost never has a Catholic responded, Jesus paid my sin debt and I am trusting in Him for my salvation.” I have taught comparative religions at university level. I have, of course studied Augustine and Catholic catechism, and “Der kleine katechismus von Martin Luther, etc. God wants you to know that you have eternal life. We want you to know that you have eternal life. Stop pontificating about countless matters I never addressed and consider the eternal destiny of your soul.
@answersfromscriptureonline in the first 3 minutes, you used the "call no men father" that the Church teaches salvation by works and that Roman Catholics can not go to heaven unless they deny the Roman Catholic Church. I didn't mention anything in my post that you, yourself, did not say or imply. If you were a scholar of Church history, you would know that the Church condemned both the idea we can save ourselves without aid from God since that's Pelagianism. You would also be aware that salvation by works was expressly condemned in the Council of Trent. Canon i. If any one shall say, that man may be justified before God by his own works, whether done through the strength of human nature, or through the teaching of the law, without the divine grace through Jesus Christ; let him be anathema. Canon ii. If any one shall say, that the divine grace through Jesus Christ is given only unto this, that man may more easily be able to live justly, and to merit eternal life, as if, by free will without grace, he were able [to do] both, though hardly and with difficulty; let him be anathema. Are you using 1 John 5:13 to state that mere ascent of belief is enough for eternal life? If so, that was what I was quoting the Epistle of James for and could have gone on. Mere belief is not truly faith in Jesus. If you are using it for eternal security, there are more verses that could be used to show that this novel doctrine is unbiblical and against the very nature of the New Testament. To spare a wall of text I will assume you merely meant ascent of belief. Bad Catholics who say the wrong thing doesn't disprove what the Church teaches anymore than an American who doesn't know the Constitution of the United States disproves the First Amendment. As to your teaching record, it seems that you either didn't read the Catechism very well, or you took the cliff notes from a Chick track. You certainly wouldn't be making basic mistakes about the Churches doctrine on justification. The Council of Trent is hardly an inconsequential event in European history. One might wonder as well, speaking of eternal souls, if yours is safe. The Lord did say "Amen, amen I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his blood you have no life within you" John 6:53. It's a bit inconsistent to harp on "call no man father" as an absolute literal statement when it is clearly used by an Apostle, but then deny this verse when Christ let people walk away to damnation for a metaphor that didn't land. And so you have no doubts, I believe that I am saved by the death of our Lord on the cross, that he paid for my sins, being born again of water and spirit, and that as long as I die in his friendship, by not rejecting Him and having a living faith, I will be with him in heaven.
@@irritated888 Not only are you putting words in my mouth, you are ignoring your own words and the words of your leaders. For example, I have books with the Vatican’s imprimatur that plainly teach one must work for salvation, when the Bible is clear that if it be of works it is no more of grace-it is one or the other-not a combination of the two. Then which one is it? The verses I quoted, and the entire hosts of those I didn’t make the answer clear without ambiguity or equivocation. “For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.” Even at the end of your lengthy diatribe, written to convince me of yourselves crystal clarity on the matter of your own salvation, you demonstrated that you are trusting in your own merit to keep from denying or losing salvation. Scripture has literally hundreds of verses on this point, such as “I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that HE IS ABLE TO KEEP that which I have committed…” It is God Who saves us and God Who keeps us. We have no role in it whatsoever except to receive it by faith.

@@answersfromscriptureonline He probably brought up Calvinists and Lutherans because, like you as a Baptist they are Protestants. But Calvinists and Lutherans are actually closer to Historic Christianity than the Baptists are. Calvin has a very good explanation how the original languages show that the broad meaning of "brothers" in Greek do not mean that Jesus Christ had physical brothers from Mary. He also explained that when the scripture says that Joseph and Mary had no intimate relations "until" they were married that the "until" does not assume either way about what happened later. There is no implication of sexual relations later conveyed by the word "until." It only affirms there were no relations before. This was contrary to what the Baptists wrongly taught me. Luther had a high respect for the Blessed Mother as well and he believed that Christ was present at the Eucharist in a more than symbolic way. I actually worshiped with the Orthodox Presbyterians and with the Lutherans on my way out of the recently invented theology of the Baptists but before I came home to the Historic Christianity of the Catholics. Of the major sects of Protestantism the Baptists have wandered farther from Historic Christianity than the other branches.
● Matthew 24:13
But THE ONE WHO ENDURES TO THE END will be saved.

Indeed, in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel."
If you cannot engage with such a basic, biblical, concept beyond a low hanging fruit where the Lord was obviously using hyperbole, when that explicit word is used later on by an Apostle, and arguably the most important one, you cannot expect anyone to take your opinions other topics seriously.
And as a final aside, the Church has condemned the idea you can work your way into heaven since at least St. Augustine and the condemning of Pelagianism. It just doesn't hold that belief alone is enough, but you need an active faith operating in love.
See the following quotes
James 2:24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

Jesus established his church to be the means of getting us to heaven. He tells us this right there in the bible, so yes, obediance to the church does matter, and Jesus has been right there in his church for 2000 years
P.S. Jesus instituted the sacraments and yes I have a list of what they are and where they are in scripture
@@cynthiax56 When you make a claim that the church is the means to heaven and that Jesus told us so in the Bible, you should cite the verse.
@@answersfromscriptureonline I have furnished that for you already in my list of scriptures which show the authority belongs to the church. & also you are free to google the words of Jesus in where he tells us there is one shepherd, (himself) and one sheepfold. Also note that when the bible was written & compiled, there was only one church
@ You do not know the Scriptures. There were many, many churches in Bible times. Neither have you provided a single reference that indicates salvation is through any church.
@@answersfromscriptureonline no. the only church that existed up until the orthdox split was the catholic church. The protestants split in 1517
catholics have been believing in Jesus and following Jesus for 2000 years, and Jesus is not seperate from his church that he established. He tells us there is ONE sheperherd (himself, not Luther or calvin) & ONE GATE...(his church) He has been manifesting his living presence in his church for 2000 years by both heavenly visitations and Eucharistic miracles. This is how he is with us until the end of time as he told us.
All the things that protestants claim we are doing, such as committing idolotry are false. They ignore the scriptures about holoring Mary, intercession of t saints, good works and lots more in order to make these false accusations. Bearing false witness is a serious sin
@@cosmickitty5693 Why would you bring up heretics like Luther and Calvin? You wrote a comment full of lies. Fortunately you reminded yourself at the end that bearing false witness is a sin.
@@answersfromscriptureonline The reformed Baptists originated from the followers of Calvinistic thinking. The other Baptists originated as a split from a split from a split from the Church of England. Church of England split from the Catholics when the Pope would not allow the king to divorce his wife and declare his children bastards. The Puritans split from the Anglicans and the Separatists split from the Puritans, and the Seekers split from the Separatists and eventually the Baptists came out of this mess. Baptists are Protestants, both through Calvins reformation and through the English "reformation." It does not matter if you accept the history or not. The truth remains. Baptists are Protestants. They have just slipped a little farther from the truth than many other sects of Protestants!
@ You tend to ignore what is being said and answer instead questions that nobody was asking.
@@answersfromscriptureonline When real history is being ignored and instead a false narrative is inserted like saying "Baptists are not Protestants, what obligation do those who see the lies have to respond? Ignoring it will lead to believing lies like Carroll's "Trail of Blood" being inserted. Even educated Baptists have to acknowledge that little booklet is a lie. So then, we not only have an obligation to ignore the falsehoods, but ask why is it some sects willfully, against all evidence believe what is false. Why do they willfully believe somethings that are intellectually dishonest when they purport to be teachers of truth? Baptist successionism does not have historical evidence to back it up. When this broad question is raised with a patently false claim like saying "Baptists are not Protestants" then what responsibility do those who do seek the truth have?
But some Baptists actually say the Baptists were the original Apostolic faith. But the evidence against that false statement is overwhelming and conclusive!
That is one of the reasons I distinguished Roman Catholics. That said, every person needs salvation, regardless of how his religious affiliation subcategorizes him.

16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
