I dont mean to pressure you or anything and I have no ill feelings when you don't upload for a while, life happens to all of us! But it bums me out every time I hear you say that you hope you're making something interesting that makes us want to watch. I hope you know that for a lot of us you are our top favorite TH-camr! Most of us would be incredibly excited for your uploads even if you sat on the side of a loud motorway and read us the dictionary.
I don't think we really care what you find, I mean we love watching you find everything you do, but if you don't find much we also aren't disappointed. We like you as a person and we like your voice and we like your beautifully poetic take on everything.
I'm sure I speak for many many many of your followers when I say that we just love to see what you're up to! We love to see these hidden places we've never been, we love to see what you find or don't find, and I still can't believe you haven't pre-written or memorized some of the things you say so poetically. We're Tom fans!
We really are ! 🙏🏻
Well said!
I second the sentiment!
Yes indeedy! (Read the dictionary at a motorway 🤣🤣🤣) love it!!! Tom is a shining light in a dull world. His goodness radiates and lifts me, and I'm sure, as you say, many others too.
Well, it's a little rough, the way you said it... but you are right about Tom's channel being a favorite. He uplifts the spirit. I hope those of us who benefit can uplift him in return.
Each of your videos feels like an unexpected but welcome gift; thank you so much.
Thanks Annie, that's a lovely comment. 🙂
I really love reading Tom's replies to everyone's comments! He's the most polite bloke and I say this as a loud annoying American. I always love what he has to say!
@@nannerz1994 I know. And how he says it. He worries that he has nothing interesting to say but doesn't realize that some of us; a lot of us, would listen to him recite his grocery list. Toms videos have gotten me through rough times, the pandemic lock downs, the long illness and death of my partner, when life denied me sleep. I've watched them over and over. It is a treat to have a new one.
The best way to start a Friday! Tom Burleigh, rain, a river and a tunnel. I’m in Heaven!!❤
Just as the soothing guitar music starts, my mind goes to a happy place with the magical voice of Tom along with the sound of rain and flowing water. My brain anticipates the score that will be played in each change of scenes. I feel like the words of the Moody Blues song “Tuesday Afternoon” - so gently swaying through the fairyland of love, if you’ll just come with me, you’ll see the beauty of - and for me that is the beauty of walking along the riverbanks and admiring the simple beauty of a lost marble found. When Tom placed the little snail back on the rock ledge amongst the tasty greens, my heart melted. Tom’s videos are just what the weary soul craves. I so look forward to the next journey.
Goodness, Tom. Today, for me, your film is the treasure I needed. Thank you for always telling a beautiful story with your words and camera.
Aw, thank you. Your comment has made me smile 🙂
Such a pleasure to have you back Tom, a tonic for the soul. That blue marble was a stunner, the best find. The river walk was a good choice for this video, we always enjoy these walks/larks if only because of the flora and fauna that you come across. Thank you, look forward to more and hope you get through the fatigue syndrome.
Thanks Ian and Sue. I think I'm quite lucky to have probably had ME for 22 years without really noticing; and thankfully my symptoms aren't anywhere near as bad as some people who have it. Still, it's taking a while to re-frame things in my head, and learn to avoid the crashes that have been a feature of life for so long. There's some interesting research into the condition happening now too, as a result of Long Covid and it's similarities to ME, so there may be hope for the future. 🙂
@@tomburleigh9261 Hang in there Tom, your determination shown in the videos we have had the pleasure to watch, is your strength
Thank you for giving me a trip down memory lane. No I have never been anywhere near the river you wandered along but I have been on a wander during a rain shower and can no longer do such a thing. Wandering along thinking about nothing at all or sorting through all the great mysteries of our existence on the planet. It was always a pleasure in spring when I was younger. Now the carers in my life would be horrified if they thought I was getting rained on. Thanks again for the ramble and the peace for random thoughts and ideas.
That first marble made the entire trip worth it!
I’m glad you are still posting videos periodically. Some of the channels I’ve been subscribed to have all but disappeared. Glad to see that you’re not one of those.
Sorry to hear of your public performance anxiety. I am glad you have been able to record some of your music…I do enjoy it.
Your voice and videos has the same soothing effect of watching a Bob Ross painting video.
I love that first of two marbles, presumably German.
Yes,I understand that a sea glass patina is important, but wow it would be great to se that tumbled to a near-perfect shine, the shine that a child so long ago was captured by,to the envy of his friends, right before a round of marble.
I never get tired of seeing the beautiful view out your window!
Thanks Alana 🙂.
@@tomburleigh9261 you’re welcome Tom 😊
Me either. I could live there. So serene and calm and peaceful.
You have an eye/lens for the lovely and serene and an ear for the sound of a brook, gentle rain, and the wind through grasses and trees. You don’t give off a chaos vibe, so when I am chaos itself your videos can help me change that up. I enjoy your artistry.
Your videos always seem to come at the right time. Soothing river sounds and beautiful West Yorkshire scenery to calm the sole. Thank you Tom. 🙂
Thanks Charlotte. I do like that no matter how long I'm away, I get this same sentiment 🙂; though I don't like being away so long, and hope it's not long till the next video.
Look at that view!!! That sky! Those hills and fields! The light! Dude I’d take you reciting Rick n roll lyrics as long as you show me that! Or just a walk in the sun! ❤️💯glad your back! You obviously don’t know how much you’re needed today, and loved! 💥❤️
Thanks Claude, it's certainly a pretty good view; lots of lambs out in the fields at the moment 🙂. It's hard to hold onto the idea that my uploads are needed and loved, but I try... and I did eventually make it through the long arduous editing of this video, even though I felt like scrapping it several times. I'm happier with the next one. 🙂
There's nothing like rain in England, is there??!!! The only place in the world where rain can fall and it will feel like home, the colours of the nature blending with it and becoming that enchanted place that England in rain is!!....Unique and special like nothing else out there!! 🏴 🌟
A lovely perspective to keep hold of, I do like being in the rain in the UK, but filming in the rain is tough. 🙂
Oh, how I would love to live on a canal boat . Just move along the rivers through the locks and see the river life. Have a canal boat all kitted out and comfy for me to just enjoy the slow life. A raining mudlark is just as fun as a dry one. Seeing nature is always a big bonus.
So long as I had a house somewhere to store all my stuff, or if I could let go of all the stuff (and the projects I want to do with them), I'd love the canal boat life too. For a while, till I got fixated on something else. 🙂
What a lovely marble! Blue is my favorite color.
I don't think I'll ever find a marble in my favorite color, (sort of wine red, if I'm not allowed black because it's a shade), but that blue marble is certainly one of the nicest I've found 🙂
I have missed your calming influence and voice. Couldn't have come at a better time. Thank you Tom
That insulator is a radio relay type for the old rediffusion and similar hardwired radio systems. They are always a pleasant thing to find and the poles regularly followed rivers, so it's worth grabbing if not too difficult! Another cool video Tom!
Thanks for the ID and information Richard, you're a wonderful fount of knowledge. 🙂
@@tomburleigh9261 no problem!
Love hunting for treasures, no matter how small, the beautiful greenery, sound of rushing water, & a voice like warm chocolate caramel sauce over vanilla ice cream, what more could you ask for!! All joy Tom.
Great to see you again, Tom. Been a while since I watched any, but always glad to finally do so. I still fighting ALS, and slowly but surely will decease me in the next two years. Your videos always put a smile on my face, so you on the next. Cheers Tom! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
Woohoo 👌😊 a Tom Burleigh video to watch. Welcome back, we've missed you and we just love any of the videos you post even with big or small finds or none its awesome to look at the beautiful areas you take us too. Thank you so much Tom ☺️ Also i hope your Chronic fatigue doesnt put you out of action too much. Take care, from your Aussie fan, Deb 🙂
Wonderful video, nice to hear your voice again! And many thanks for taking the bits of plastic and lead out of the river.
I'm happy to do a little bit to help the environment when I can, and I'm especially glad that showing myself doing it, has persuaded quite a few other people to do a bit of litter picking too. 🙂
I always enjoy going along on the river walks with you and I needed it today. I find it very restorative and I thank you!
Thanks Hazel, I'm glad my videos can be helpful in this way. 🙂
Ah, a video from you is the best of surprises!!!!
Thanks Christina, I'm glad you think so 🙂
Love the flower and the MARBLE!
I save you up for moments I have time to savour your videos. ❤
Really missed your videos. Glad to see you today. Blessing to you. ❤❤
Thanks Cindy, blessings to you too 🙂
I enjoyed your walk, Tom. I love the wildflowers and the wildlife!❤
Thanks Cynthia, I love the flowers and wildlife too... I'm glad that sharing them is appreciated. 🙂
Yeay a new video. So good to see you still posting. What a treat. Thank you 😊
Thanks Jane, not my best video by any means, but I'm so glad to have gotten it done and up, and looking forward to finishing the next one in hopefully a timely manner. 🙂
@tomburleigh9261 take as long as you like. Life is to enjoy 😉 its always a joy to see your journeys and now the weather is nicer I might even get to catch up with you. How glorious was it today 🌞
@@janerobo5911 Oh glorious indeed, there was a rather spectacular showing of the Northern Lights this evening, and I was lying on a beach in the dark for it. 🙂
@tomburleigh9261 no way!!! I follow aura watch on fb and indeed it advertised there would be a good display last night. Sadly I ignored it as last time I went to noses point it was only visible with a camera on a slow shutter speed (or is it fast? I'm not very techy) was it visible to the naked eye? That's one of life's check lists for sure
@@janerobo5911 Incredibly visible, I too have been trying to see the northern lights for quite a while, and last night it happened in grand fashion, greens, reds, and even hints of blue light 🙂 The forecast is for a bit more tonight, so maybe you'll get to see it too.
I like the mud hens.
😀 Took me too long to get that. Thanks Marvin.
Always love watching a wander through nature.
Thanks Shari, I love them too, and I'm happy I can share them 🙂
Tom!! We've missed you!!! Please continue to make these lovely videos if and when you can 🎉
Rainy, sunny, windy day, finds, no finds mudlark ...we will take it Tom...always good to see/hear from you
I’ve missed you and your beautiful music 😁
Thank you, I've missed uploading. 🙂
I hope you feel better soon Tom. Be sure to give a good history to your doctor of what you walk through and what you put your unprotected skin into. Could be useful. Retired nurse❤
Sadly, my symptoms have persisted for more than 22 years... so it's unlikely I'll get better. There are some interesting studies happening because of Long Covid, which is M.E. adjacent, so there is some hope for the future. In the meantime I'm learning and if I can learn well and structure my energy use better, then I might be able to avoid crashes. 🙂
@@tomburleigh9261 Good luck to you Tom. I've had friends who went 20 years before a diagnosis. Every history is important. Especially tick borne illnesses that can wax and wane over long periods. 💜
@@tomburleigh9261have you thought of fibromyalgia? I was finally diagnosed after 6 years.. my son is only 24 and he’s been diagnosed with it too.. wishing you all the best.
Lovely Yorkshire, even in the rain. Very enjoyable video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Victor 🙂
Nice to see you again Tom. Hope your day is as amazing as you are.
I treasure your videos. I don't care if you find anything or not..love the scenery and listening to you.
Thanks Irene, that's a kind sentiment. 🙂
Having spent the day digging out knotweed from my property it was so relaxing to go on that river walk! And it was a stretch without knotweed as far as I could tell. There is something very soothing about vicariously walking along these rivers, finds or no finds... thank you.
Ah, knotweed... so far it hasn't made it that far up, but it's certainly a problem about 5 miles downstream, and there are some small patches within 2 miles so sadly it's probably only a matter of time. I hope you manage to remove it from your property, it's tough to get all of it. And, thank you so much of course Artie, you're very kind and your generosity is very much appreciated. 🙂
How lovely to hear from you again, Tom, wishing you good health and many pleasant outings to come 🍀
Thank you. CFS is no walk in the park. Appreciate any / all content you are able to manage. Blessings.
Thanks Skylark, I've probably been living with it for about 22 years and not really knowing. Now I know, I can hopefully learn to manage energy use better and avoid crashes. 🙂
Wishing you good health, and kind doctors who will help you get there.
Thanks Jenni 🙂.
Beautiful video Thank you❤
Thanks Kim, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
I hereby declare “hissiest” a real word!
🙂
Absolutely lovely to see you again, Tom! I’ve been in need of a calm, soothing voice lately, life has been difficult. Cheers.
Good Morning Mr. Burleigh. I understand why you didnt transport it, but the prospect of seeing that insulator and bracket resting next to your window would be an interesting curiosity. Peace be upon you. Thank you for your videos
I especially like that you take plastic, lead & trash from the rivers. You have such a beautiful view where you live. I enjoy your photography.
Tom, so nice to “see” you again! I’ve missed you! Love the marble! Just beautiful!
Your videos offer a calming escape - many thanks for sharing your peaceful wander and authentic self
You always give such an enjoyable walk and mudlark. Thank you Tom.
Thank you Tom taking us on this adventure…I LOVE YOUR STYLE VIDEOS VOICE WORDS AND LOCATIONS…LOVE FROM CALGARY 🇨🇦
i love canadian geese
They are quite lovely 🙂. I remember about 30 years ago, going for a hike onto the hills to see the first few of them to arrive in this county; now they've filled in all the spaces and thrived 🙂
Whatever you film we love to watch, finds or no finds, crafting or not. Love the marble!
I hope that proves true, I'm certainly aiming to have a craft video or two up before the end of the year 🙂.
@@tomburleigh9261 😊 look forward to seeing them.
Hello Mr Tom I miss your videos so much.I wish you a happy time 💐
Thank you nirmen, I wish you a happy time too 🙂
We love going on walks with you.
So enjoyable and soothing. I was in a rotten mood but now feel calm. Thanks.
Thank you Tom as always for sharing your thoughts and adventures. As everyone has said , your videos, for us are treasures 🙏🏻
We missed you buddy! Good to have you back, can't wait to watch this a little bit later when I've got a minute.
Who am I kidding I'm going to make time for this! I love seeing things like the river boats you guys have that we just don't have here in the US, all the canals and locks, sometimes I really want to take a pressure washer to some of that stone work but I do think most of the charm is the moss and plants that grow on it. Even more impressive is how these stone structures survive so long even with ivy and other plants eating into them. I'm definitely going to add on to this comment as I watch!
Those geese look Canadian to me You only issue I've ever had with them is their poop annoying to step in, even worse if you're walking a dog. 🤢 They're ubiquitous in the Eastern US but I almost miss them here in Los Angeles.
I would love to see you forge a healthy-sized animal shaped bell with an interesting clapper. Thank you for the video. Enjoyable as always ❤
Ooh, that's quite a challenge. I'll certainly add it to my long list, and hope my skillset rises to meet the challenge before too long. 🙂 I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
It's so Nice to hear your voice again😁Thanks much 🙋♀️🌄🏞️
I absolutely adore this one! Thanks so much Tom.
I’ve watched so many of your videos and just finally looked to see where the music came from. Oh my goodness you made your own music, no wonder I love it. Love your videos. Why wouldn’t I love your music? It’s uniquely you.
It was great to hear you today. I love our walks in the water. Until next time😊
Thanks Judy 🙂
“Duped by a Stick” good title for your biography
Nice to see a new lark from you! It was so relaxing: the flowing of the water, your very soothing voice narrating. Thank you for cleaning up the river as well! The marble was a great find. So swirly and colorful. Grace & peace.
Thank you, it's nice to have this video finally uploaded... and I'm so glad it turned out to be relaxing in the end, (it came very close to being scrapped a few times) 😌. I'm much happier about the next video, hopefully it'll be relaxing too. 🙂
What a lovely walk. And Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is so hard. A little bit too much is way too much and it'd hard not to overdo things. Take care.
So good to watch another video and join you on another walk. Thanks so much.
Welcome back! You've been missed.
Thanks E B, good to be back. 🙂
I am always surprised by how perfect and clear the German marbles look when they are pulled from rivers and dumps and then at the round up not so much. Have to come up with a way to preserve the "wet look" that makes them so beautiful. By the way, I will add my vote to the others that love and look forward to your content. The walks and history and all the ways you can turn a phrase.
Welcome back. I’ve missed your river walks. Hope you are well.
Thanks Sue, not too bad all things considering. I hope you're well too. 🙂
Yes!!!!!!! I’ll be able to fall asleep peacefully tonight! Thanks for the video.
🙂 I hope it worked for you.
Thank you for a lovely rainy day lark.
Thanks Colleen, I'm glad you enjoyed watching along. 🙂
Nice to see you back Tom Hope you've been okay
Thanks Brian, I hope you're doing OK too. 🙂
So glad you're back! Hope you're doing well!
Thanks Alyssa, I hope you're doing well too. 🙂
I've said this before but I just love the intro music, it evokes memories of long summer days larking on the riverbank without a care in the world☺ Lovely video Tom, good to hear you 😀💖x
Thanks Amanda, that's a wonderful compliment for a piece of music I wrote just for my first few mudlarking videos, and still hasn't been given a proper name. I had no idea when I started that I'd still be using it years later 🙂. I hope you're reasonably well, and that maybe a mudlark with you might be possible this year sometime!?
@@tomburleigh9261 Sounds good Tom. I am doing ok, I had my hip replaced a few months ago and am still a bit weak but hope to start getting out more now that the better weather is here. Send an email when you're ready. Hope all is well with you 😁💖x
I sure wish I had that view.
I really love your films ... I wish I could walk along side with you but I can't... I have to watch and enjoy... I'm bed bound....once a ballet dancer. and now an avid mudlarker. thank you for your filming - all your hard work.
Oh my, I almost missed this 😳.
I have the notification bell on but didn’t receive a notification. Welcome back Tom.
"I'll take it!" and "I think I'll take it!" You gotta make up some merch!!!
Ah, another thing to add to the rather long list of things to do. 🙂. I do hope so, eventually, when I can pay a designer to come up with some good designs.
@@tomburleigh9261 any of Tom's fans out there in TH-cam land know graphic design? Let's put something together to run by Tom!
Always great to see a new Tom video ✌️💚

So good to see you out and about again Tom. Thanks for the great video!!
Thanks Millie, good to have finally gotten this video out 🙂. I hope you're well, and getting ever more interest in your wonderful art.
I have enjoyed following your beautiful walk today! It’s good seeing everything, through your eyes 👀. Vancouver, Canada
Dear Tom. Big hug to you. Thank you for all your fascinating videos. So sorry to hear you may have chronic fatigue syndrome. I have heard that chocolate is a good tonic for such illnesses...... Please look after yourself and occasionally spoil us with some river larking, when you're up to it.
Love your videos whatever treasures you find
Thanks Anna 🙂.
Thanks!
Thanks so much Artie, this is very kind of you. 🙂
So good to find your latest video in my feed today. I always appreciate the effort that goes into the making of them. 🥰 The two marbles certainly made it a successful lark, imho, along with those pieces of blue & white. The scenery was delightful, especially the light rain falling, although I know it made things very soggy for you. Sorry about that. 🤗Sending positive vibes regarding your CFS testing. 😍I hope it has a practical & functional resolution. 😊 Take care, Tom. See you next time. 😁💖👌👍👋
Thanks Noralee, I think I'm already starting to see benefits to the diagnosis and stabilization workshops, hopefully I'll eventually learn to balance my energy demands, and avoid crashes. Learning what the problem was, was the first of a long line of steps to hopefully functioning a bit better 🙂 I hope you're keeping well, and I hope it's not quite so long till the next time.
*Kia ora Tom, another awesome video.... seeing what you find but also listening to your wonderful soothing voice. 🙂nz*
Thanks Andrea, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

Love your videos. Doesn’t matter if you find anything you think is interesting. I love your voice and scenery. I live in Oklahoma, USA . Very boring to me.
Yes very enjoyable. Great marble.
Sup Tom. 🙂✌
Cheers Will🙂✌
Your new video made my month thank you.
Thanks Bryan, your comment made me smile 🙂
It's so great to see/hear you! Always glad to see a video from you. I wish I was close to a stream to just walk by, but the river close by is too dangerous (the Rio Grande), even dangerous to get to - a thousand foot drop trail. We've had a long winter with lots of snow and recently lots of rain, which is good for the ground, but the rain is too cold to walk in. Which is why I love seeing what ever you find. Take care of yourself!
Thank you for the lovely video you shared,it's raining here too. 😊
