    Nomad Lane sells the small toiletry & tech bag separately for the V3. I would recommend not having such a bulky toiletry bag & put the liquids in a small bag & the rest in a smaller pouch. Also shoes don’t have to be packed together & you can stuff socks in them. I have the Nomad Lane & love it!

    Hi Perrie, I thoroughly enjoy your videos❤! I've had the bagsmart bag in my amazon wish list for quite some time now and look forward to purchasing it one day soon. As nice as the nomad lane bag is, I much prefer a bag that has some wiggle room, especially with the bag sizers for Air Canada 😒.I would lllllove to buy some of the underseat bags you get in the U.S. but the dimensions are just too big for Air Canada sizers. Be well and happy travels😊

    Excellent review! We went with the V4 and we love them!

      HI @luceaschild! The funny thing is that the toiletry bag isn't that big, but sadly it was for the opening. Given that, I think it's better that you went with the V4 since the toiletry bag is made for the bag! Happy Journeys!

    TSA only requires you to remove your 3-1-1 liquids and your laptop. You don't have to remove your entire toiletry bag (unless the scanner sees something suspicious that they want to examine). I use a quart sized ziplok bag for 3-1-1 liquids in the top pocket. That allows me to have a smaller toiletry bag (8.5" × 5" x 3") - Leatherology. It uses exactly 1/4 of the space in the front cavity. My tech bag (Thule Subterra PowerShuttle, medium) has room for my Bose headphones and uses a bit less than 1/2 the space in the front cavity. The other 1/4 of the space is reserved for the 3-1-1 liquids pouch in the top pocket.

      I know that, and you know that, but my husband likes everything in one place. If you noticed in the video, I did make it work, and he could get it out of the other accessible pocket in the bag and use the other pocket for something else. I can tell you really love the bag, and I totally understand why. You are not alone.

      @@PerriesPassport LOL! Your husband is fortunate that you actually care enough to help him figure out how to take what he needs. My wife is of the "every man for himself" mindset. The reality is that I usually pack it slightly differently depending on whether I'm flying, driving, or cruising (or some combination thereof). Thanks for the video.

    I enjoyed seeing you pack it. I have this bag (the version 2) and love it. Always nice to see how others use it. The top spots are my favorite feature! I use them for my noise canceling headphones and emergency meds i might need during the flight. The "toiletries bag" they show in their advertising is for the liquids bag only that has to be clear and a quart or less. Im guessing maybe you put your liquid bag inside that big toiletry bag? The goal with this is to make the liquid bag instantly accessible for TSA. I have TSA pre so I dont need that often but do when traveling internationally.

      Hi @robinjohnson9487 I find it interesting to watch other's pack, too. There is always a new trick to learn, which is why I like the comments, too! Believe it or not, although that toiletry bag looked big, it's a bifold with one side for liquids (quart size) and the other side for all my husband's bits and pieces. I guess he could have used a plastic bag, but he likes to keep things together. That is the thing about luggage. What works for one person doesn't for another. Thank you so much for the feedback!

      I love my Osprey ultralight zip organizer as a toiletry bag. I then put liquids separate. They each fit in the top 1/4 zips.
      It helps to pare down items, get ultralight gear and prioritize what is really needed for the trip.
      Try disposable shower caps for shoe covers. Stuff small items or socks in the shoes.
      If I need a backup for unexpected items, SCOTTeVest windbreaker jacket is soooo worth it. So many pockets, and you would never know it!
      One personal bag, no additional fees.

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @@696969bold! All great ideas! I'll have to check out the Osprey bag. Why do you use the shower caps instead of a shoe bag? Stuffing your shoes is a great go to. I have checked out the SCOTTeVes and they can be very expensive depending on the jacket. Which one do you have?

    • @696969bold
      @696969bold 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @PerriesPassport I have the SCOTTeVest windbreaker. It is very comfortable and fits a whole lot if I need it. It's good even when not traveling and trying to be stealth and hands-free. I'm checking out the shirts next, but I haven't pulled the trigger as it is quite costly and I want to make the best match for my needs.
      The shower caps allow me to pack the shoes in any position needed irrespective of the other. (One on top, one on the bottom, different sides of the bag... whatever fits best for that pack.

      Hi @@696969bold Let me know which jacket you chose. As for the shower cap on the shoes, that works for me, but I married Felix Unger, so only a bag will work for him.

    Your demo and explanation are excellent, thank you. But is your toiletry bag compliant for carry-on? It looks large and TSA sites says it must be a clear bag.

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @caroldavis1239, yes it is in the US. I always do the quart test and this was not larger than a quart. I think the issue was that total bag size, which really is not that big at
      9.84 X 6.50X 3 in. I guess you could use two smaller bags or buy the one from Nomad Lane. The new version of the bag comes with these bags, but it also costs $100 more and I just didn't think it was worth it. Hope that helps!

  • @aarontooley570
    @aarontooley570 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So would you recommend the V3 or the V4 over the other. I assume since it was not said directly that the V4 was a little smaller but just as efficient that you would recommend the V4

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi @aarontooley570 The bags are the same size, but the V4 has punches that fit into those top openings. Those top openings do eat into the space in the bag. The handles are nicer on the V4, which makes them a bit more comfortable to carry. The V4 cost about $100 more than the V3, so you have to think if those pouches and handles are worth $100 more. I hope that helps.
