Conan, The reason why people care about smoke free or not is because of the smell & possibly other reasons but mainly the smell. If someone has their Pokémon cards put away & they are smoking, the smoke is not going to damage the cards, they’d have to literally have left the cards out while they are smoking or do what Dark Ghoul is doing with a cig in their mouth lol. Again smoke free is mainly for the smell not for the damage of smoke. What could have made those cards look like that is being left out for long periods of time possibly.
I'm aware of the reason for people caring about whether or not the home is smoke free, thank you very much. Cigarette smoke does produce the yellow toning, hence why I referred to it, anyway I recently discovered that the borders of the HGSS sets are meant to have the faded look.
