Beautiful montage, very appropriate music and great choices for showing her talent and grit. She never gave up. Some of her earlier dance had great choreograph, when she was about 8 years old she did an amazing jazz number in a competition for juniors with a red leo and her bathing beauty 1920s floor beginning when she was 12 was so amusing with wonderful expression and dance, the ending pose with beautiful arms drawing attention to her face was so graceful. thank you for remembering Shushunova. RIP Elena.
She really had a great impact on me at the time and in years to come. She was gone way too early, but thanks to the research I did to make this video I discover many wonderful performances by her that I wasn't aware of. Rest in peace, beautiful Elena.
Just Artistic Gymnastics I only really found out about gymnastics in the ‘88 olympics, I used to think that Elena’s floor routines were boring as I didn’t like the music, I was only 13, but now I’ve grown up and can appreciate it so very much more, her floor routines were wonderful and the music was very moving
Comaneci- 7 perfect tens, AA, beam, bars and floor gold in 1976 plus perfect tens in multiple other competitions. Shushunova- 1988 AA gold, only individual medal earned, perfect ten on vault, a few tens in other competitions. I’d say Nadia has the edge. Elena was fantastic, but Nadia was the execution, stability and elegance queen.
