This was fantastic! Your singing is so good!!! I was just wondering, though, if you are a self-taught singer or took lessons? I'm trying to develop my singing abilities on my own and am trying to prepare for my concert choir class this year and high school theater, so I was wondering if you have any tips? Also, your vibrato is amazing! How did you develop it? Do you have any tips on how I might be able to develop vibrato in my own singing? Thanks, and again, fantastic job, you're so inspirational! :D
Thank you so much!! You don’t even know how much this comment means to me, you made my day when I read it! I’d love to help a bit if I can! So I have been taking singing lesson’s with Linda Benanti’s studio for 2 1/2 years now, and she has helped me immensely, but voice lessons are not the only thing that can help. Just practicing, and joining higher level choirs helps as much as a 30 minutes lesson. Also, develop your mix voice if you are going to sing musical theatre! I’m sure there are plenty of videos in the internet that can help you, and a mix is a good way to sing powerfully but healthily. ALSO! When your auditioning, just remember that your there to share your heart and have fun. Like any other performance. Someone told me to look at auditioning from a different perspective. The directors, or your choir teacher have a problem, that is they need people for there. And you are the solution! They want you to perform well, cause they want a good solution for their problem. When it comes to vibrato, natural vibrato that isn’t forced will come from good breath support, which I’m sure you will learn from your choirs. Funny enough, mocking opera singers and trying to emulate my favorites legit musical theatre singers is what also helped me developed a strong vibrato (Sierra Boggess is one of the lol) Good luck and break a leg on all your endeavors! Keep asking questions too, that alone will get you very far!!
@@miagrizzuti Thank you! This all makes sense and I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me! I try to practice as much on my own as I can (usually about 2-3 hours a week) and have noticed immense improvements in the last 6 months. Your advice here helps a lot, and you've gotten me really excited for high school choir and theater! That's a really unique way to look at auditions, and it'll really help, so thank you in that regard as well! Also about the vibrato- that's actually such an interesting hack, I'm going to try that and hopefully let you know how it works out. I've always had breath support issues because of my allergies and possible asthma and so this tip will hopefully help me develop some more vibrato! Thanks again for all this and know that you're an amazing actress! You'll go far and I can't wait to see you someday on Broadway :)
