I love watching you and Christy work with your families. When my parents were alive my dad always had projects going, and of course the whole family would be there to help out. Whenever one of us where doing something, dad would rally the family to your place. The best memories for us and the grand kids.
When I bought our new house with acreage it came with an option to buy the tractor the owner used. It was a 54hp 2003 New Holland with a FEL. This property had open woods on most of the 12 acres and it was situated on a gentle slope. It was my first tractor and I didn’t know any better. I kept it for about 4 years but it’s uses were minimal other than hauling cut firewood up to the house. In August of 2020 I finally said I needed a smaller tractor and was thinking a 3033 John Deere would be great. The only problem was everyone in the country was buying tractors. The salesman offered me a 2038R and I was surprised by how much it could do with a turbo engine and it was more nimble in amongst the trees. I could not be more happy. It now has a 100 hours after a year and I’m not selling it. 😁

Bought an almost new Kubota MX5200 that was 2 years old with 20 hours. Guy had a landscape business but changed to foam insulation shortly after. Tractor just sat. Great deal for me.
I have no need for a tractor, but this video caught my attention. I like this guy's manner, and if I was in the market for some equipment and he was within driving distance .. I'd certainly put him on my list.
Hello from Canada , bought a new kubota BX23S , have had it for 3 years , also got the 55 inch snow blower with 60 inch rear blade , love it , won’t ever sell it unless it’s a very serious health or financial issue, great videos 👍✌️🇨🇦 Be safe neighbour.
You are absolutely right about life changes situations. We just purchased a country property and a tractor is needed. I just sold my brand new John Deere 17G excavator with only 30 hours on it and bought a new John Deere 3039R. I made sure to be proactive and got the snow cab just so down the road I won't regret not having it. Also got set up for the 3rd function. Anyone purchasing a Tractor or any other peace of equipment need to think about the future. Don't just buy what you need now, think about what you might do later too. Great Video!
I put 900 hrs on my 2015 in less than 2 years . Cleared 7 acres , built a 1/2 acre pond , 1000' driveway , dug foundation for house etc. I lost track of how many stumps the attached backhoe pulled outta the ground . Every off day was spent on that thing . It has 966hrs now but the rest/vacation is over . Clearing a spot for a garage/shop now . Tractors are made to work . :D
Just like tractors and had quite a few under 100hrs guys using them when building new house and decide to sell. My current JD 2305 has 80 hrs and is my go to toy. If you wait and search many can be found under 100hrs.
2014 3032e here...155 or so hours in 6 years. I love it, but when i use it I push its limits. Knowing what i know now, I wish I had spent $5k more and gotten the low end of the 4 series. Every time i get a flyer from the dealer i tell my wife we’re going to upgrade. She rolls her eyes.

I can you tell some of the reasons are a lot of people, including myself don't do their homework when buying a tractor. I bought a 2018 J.D.3025e. What was delivered was a leftover 2017 still it was a brand new tractor. But. In 2018 the 3 e's were upgraded to where they will now accept a backhoe. I'm wanting to upgrade to the new 3D series as you can get them with a geared transmission which was kinda what i wanted, when to the J.D. dealership. I've just made my 24th payment on it and last week I just did my 50 hour maintenance on it. It still looks new with 54 engine hours and 38 PTO hours on it.
I know a few people that bought subcompact tractors mainly to cut grass, then realized it would be a lot easier with a zero turn. They only used the loader for occasional snow and mulch once a year.
zero turns are a one trick pony, they are typically gas powered the engines wont last like a diesel and they burn far more fuel. I personally wouldn't trade my BX2350. it has the power, longevity, fuel efficiency, and versatility to handle anything a 2 acre yard could possibly throw at it. want a garden? buy a tiller. want to fix my driveway? box blade or loader. I live in western NY and we get SNOW. that heated cab sure is nice. it came with a Curtis cab.
I found a 3 year old Deere 3033R with 54 hours.Older gentleman bought it then passed away and took his family year to settle the estate..So it set in a barn for a year or longer. Also bought a 1982 Deere 4240 with 5200 hours.Guy only used it o cut and bale hay
Bought a 2014 3038e from a coworker this May (2020). It had 32.4 hours on it. He used it to push a little snow. Pto had never been used. He had bold plans, then never used it.
Nice review! I haven’t been in the tractor world that long but I’ve heard much of the same stories from people I know! I bought a brand new L2501 standard trans kubota about 6 years ago! I needed it for a few purposes but not sure how much I’d use it ,so I bought a tractor with the least features , just a bare bones tractor. I didn’t want to spend big money on something that didn’t get used much. After 6 years I used the tractor much more than anticipated and soon realized the manual trans was a pain for my needs. Plus a few times I could have used more HP. I did a lot of loader work with tight maneuvers and precision placement! The manual trans made it much more challenging! I soon heard from other tractor owners that a manual trans tractor is really best for long hauls , like brush hog work or tilling type work! I did not have a ton of hours cause most of my jobs involved about 10-20 Minutes! Maybe an hour at a time at most. My local Kubota dealer was more than happy to help me out..😅 they gave me a fair trade in value towards a 3902 HST. Absolutely love this tractor …the 3902 was just about double the cost of the 2501 but well worth it knowing it’ll serve me better! The little things like having PS was a huge help when turning at slow speeds with a heavy load! It’s funny cause many of my tractor buddies grumbled at me for trading my 2501 in….said I’ll regret it later. The 2501 is a basic no frills machine that’s easy to work on…no computers or regen stuff! I get it but it’s worth it for me to have a tractor that makes my life easier!
We bought a used 3038e in ‘15 with a bucket on the front and tires that had just been filled. 2 hours on it. Gentleman bought it, tried getting to work on his property, immediately realized he needed something much bigger and traded it right back in. We saved several thousand on a new tractor. We had a lot of skepticism before buying but all these years later it’s running great.
I have two John Deere tractors and love them very much. I would not trade either of them in and my 790 tractor has around 134 hours on it and the 2016 3032E has just 36 hours on it. I don't use either of them very much and they are used primarily for work around my home, but have been used away from home some. My brother has a new Mahindra and it just came from the dealership and went back after it was first delivered back to him. After the remarks I read about in some videos on that brand I would never think of getting one.
Most low hour tractors around here at dealers were rental units usually a year or two old and even though they have under a thousand hours they are beat and most of the dealers want close to new price for the tractor when I can go buy a one owner tractor with a few thousand hours in decent shape for tens of thousands less and some times with a lot more attachments. You have compact tractors and large tractors today that are cost more than the farm cost and the manufacturers are making them so the owners and farmers can not work on them so many at first problem they are being traded in at low hours and those problems are being passed on to the next person along with the repair costs and John Deere is the worst at this so be aware of any low hour Deeres at dealers and the dealer isn't going to tell you the problems cause they just want the tractors off their lot. I say look for the one owner private tractors that have been used for years usually the people selling them are more honest and usually you can spot the problems easier. We were burned by John Deere on a hundred thousand dollar 7930 with less than 100hrs on it and will never buy another Deere product as long as we have the farm. For the last 80+ years we were a Grean farm with a couple Steigers but we are slowly turning Blue and Red (New Holland and Case) A lot better service plus cheaper and we can work on them our selves. Be cautious of low hours too because many new tractors with digital dashes the hours are stored in the dash and few hundred bucks can take a 2-3000hrs tractors back to a few hundred hour tractor very easily.
Bought my B2410 new in the crate back in 2001. It has less than 500 hours on it today. It's not that I don't use it, because I do, but there are only so many times I can cut the grass with it. :) I have a backhoe which has been used a lot, tiller, finish mower, rough cut mower, and a few other attachments for it, but even with everything I have done with it, it is still under 500 hours. Can't believe it is almost 20 years old. I just replaced the battery after 18 years on it, and other than a lift link seizing up, it has been trouble free.
Close to where I live, on the outskirts of Sydney Australia a fellow is running a similar business to yours, selling recent model, low hour tractors. We visited before the virus disaster and looked at a very nice little B series Kubota. We asked where he sources his tractors. He said he has a friend who is a solicitor dealing with bankruptcies, property settlements, death estates & all that sort of thing. His friend ended up with tractors needing somewhere to go. He is a truck driver by trade and said he would buy them & then sell them.
Good Works Tractors maybe if you have some free time after Easter contact a few lawyers around where you are and let them know you can help them out if they have tractors they are trying to deal with. Real estate agents too. Out here at least I see ads for tractors from real estate agents & most probably they’d rather not deal with tractors if they don’t have to.
reasons for selling my new tractor 1. wrong color, wife does not like green she wanted pink. 2. bought a new tractor but wife wanted new car, wife doesn't like riding on the fender so I have to sell the tractor and buy her a car. 3. wife's dog thinks new tractor is a trespasser and won't stop barking at the tractor and biting the tires.
I am one of those guys. I had a 2016 1023E that I put about 190 hours on in 2 years. I bought the 1023E for budget reasons, and was amazed at how awesome these little machines are and how much they can do. The problem is (and what the dealers don’t tell you) is that the attachments you can get for them are expensive and HIGHLY addictive! TH-cam definitely doesn’t help with this addiction issue either (love the videos...please keep them coming!). The next thing you know is you’re researching the new three point, pto driven, chrome plated, self cleaning, power dog washer with automatic bow tying ribbon feeders...and it’s only $6000! In my case it was a backhoe. I have several ditches on my property that I need to maintain and drainage issues to work on and several friends I could help with it...see how this works. So I traded the 1023E in on a 2018 1025R TLB. The 2019 models were in at my dealer and they were “blowing out” the 2018 models. I absolutely love the newer tractor. I had them add some extra LED lights to it and the silly features like cruise control and suspension seat are kinda cool too. I just wish it was a little heavier and the loader had a little more lift capacity...like a 2038R. I think I have a problem, and I may need a 12 step program...I hope step 2 has JDQA.😉
It's common in the corporate world to spend money instead of letting the IRS take it. You had a good year, spend 30k on equipment, sell it a year later. You take less than a hit on the tractor than paying the taxes.
can you do a video of comparison of 'garden' tractor to 'sub compact' tractor? I only have a 1.5 acre but do a ton of my own landscaping, moving boulders, mulch, making berms...etc and have all done this by hand and wheelbarrow. I have been watching tons of videos but can't decide what is going to be my best option. The Ventrac with all the attachments is ideal but cost prohibitive. The Simplicity Legacy XL likes good as an example whereas a JD 1025R may be too much.
I don't have a backhoe on my 3038e but there is a neighbor near me that will do work for $60.00 an hour. Price of a backhoe maybe $7000.00 or more. I think I will use the neighbor. Plus his fuel and labor all in one.
I would think low hours would depend on age, a 10 year old tractor with 2000 hours would be low hours, my tractor is a 2003 Massey Ferguson 1428 with 150 hours on it I bought it new the reason for such low hours is I bought it to clean driveway when it snows (driveway way is 800 feet long) use to move logs or brush to burn pile but it has set for 6 months at a time so low hours comes into play more for a newer tractor but not for a older tractor but the less hours the better
I have a BX2350 with 430 hours on it. its roughly 13 years old. I bought it last may for $8k. came with a heated cab, mower, and 3pt snowblower. if I bought a new rig it would have been $20K
Purchase a 2015R with Cab and only 81 hours I have used it 2 winters and still only have 121 hours. 40 hours in two years that is nothing. Love my Deere best purchase I ever made. The only problem is very few dealers in the area ( Ont. Canada)
I just bought a 2004 John Deere 5205 with 980 hours on it. It was owned by a large landscaping firm and they had all the service paperwork, and the tractor was solid. I asked the manager why they were selling the tractor and he told me it was just too big of a tractor for residential landscaping work and it had sat far more than it worked.
I had a John Deere 2032r. after about 4-8 hours it developed problems. Belly mower was cutting the hair pins and falling off. Dealer fixed it with bigger pins and I think it had that issue twice. some where around 40-60 hours it started kicking out of 4x4. You could watch the lever wiggle and kick out while driving. It went back to the dealer more than 4 times and not being able to fix it they were blaming tire pressure to the terrain I was driving on. Some where along way of the back and forth trips it picked up a new problem. The amount of run out when taking your foot off the forward pedal became about 3 or 4 times longer but only when the mower was engaged. At about 110 hours I complained they should just replace it since they can't fix it.I had to pay $1800 due to having over 100 hours on it and they gave me a new 2032r that didn't have any of the issues until recent but its over 500 hours now and picked up that run out issue. I feel bad for who ever got the first tractor.
I live in Iowa where John Deere manufactures a lot of equipment. Low hour tractors near me are often trade ins from employees. Deere offers rebates to employees and many trade every year for just a small premium to the dealer. This is primarily small garden and utility tractors. I've seen equipment with as little as 20 hours!
I am a Paraplegic that needs a hand Hydro. None out there that I could find makes one and the 1023 25 may be tough to get on, but I am ambitious and mechanical. A winch on the roll bar with a swivel and easy enough. Remember I'm the guy with the heavy gravely that my home made roll bar reaches out and grabs limbs and climbs trees? I ended up buying a 1984 JD 430 with a Yanmar. I need to maintain 1200' of ditch and that is the smallest toughest heaviest machine I could think of with hand hydro 1180 lbs alone. It is a mule. I bought one with the intent of rebuilding it buying a tiller and building a FEL. Tractor is done and looks new, should have the FEL done soon. Going to use a box blade with scarifiers and shape and move things with the FEL. I don't really like the new tractors and don't want to wear one out with the emission crap. I think all the rear fenders look interchangeable. I thought about a 1023 or 25 but fabbing the forward and reverse to the left side and up to one lever would void the warranty. Maybe one reason folks are selling or in my case not buying is product versatility. No matter, $7k later I'm not stopping! Stay safe everyone! Rebuild a tractor and get parts offline is a good way to distance.
My youngest brother had Spina bifida. Never took a step in his whole life. Died at 43 in 99. Never complained about it. I try to be as strong as he was. Wish I had your mechanical abilities. Stay safe.
My dad has lost the use of his legs. He is presently modifying a 2001 New Holland TC29 to hand controls. He has mounted a two lever hydraulic valve body on the left side with small arms to actuate the linkage for forward and reverse (hydrostatic) under the floor boards. The whole system is run off of the tractor hydraulics.
I wished I could afford a nice shiny tractor. I have a 1968 oliver tractor that I've had for 20plus years. It may be obsolete on a farm today but for a homeowner in the country that takes care of many acres this tractor is definitely beneficial. I have all the obsolete equipment for it also. Now I'm personally pulling some age and am thinking that if possible I'm going to be looking at something shiny with a factory cab in the future
I had a John Deere 4105 I hated the front loader hydraulic system. I open up the down part of tractor where the filter sit in housing. It was filled with aluminum partial that the factory did not clean out. Sold it. And bought for a Kubota L6060 . Love the tractor and the hydraulic on loader works right.
Yes, debris in the system is not uncommon which is why most manufacturers suggest a break in fluid and filter change . This is not a John Deere specific item, but common throughout all machinery.
I got a question about my hour meter. It reads 300.2 hours. The problem is the minute counter counts to 10 before it rolls to 301. Commen sense says it should count 0.1 every 6 minutes. But instead it counts 10 minutes then rolls 0.1 that means I really have 300 times 100 minute periods. I can do the math to figure real hours. I just wonder if anyone else has run into this?
Bought in Dec 2019 Rental 2017 Kubota L4701 with front loader, had 119 hours for $20k. Added $10k of options. Have 150 hrs now, I love it. Added Canopy, LED F/B lights, 6' scrap grapple, Tip/Tilt, Land Pride 6' hyd box scraper, third function. Moving from New Holland 33 hp to Kubota 47 hp.
ArizVern just curious how it’s been for you. I’ve always been sceptical about buying a rental machine or leased tractor as I’m sure we’re all guilty of it buy when we rent a machine we beat on them pretty hard and get our moneys worth out of them?. But I’d love to hear your story
I don't often buy rental machines, but am not completely opposed to it. If it's a "low hour" rental and still under factory warranty, then it could very well be just fine. It's easy to tell how it's been treated by cosmetic condition. Also, many of those rentals are long-term, so just one client or just a handful of clients. Additionally, dealers are typically very good about maintenance and doing everything on schedule. Just my two cents.
@@GoodWorksTractors Had a lot of same thoughts. Some how they missed the $2,500 Tip/Tilt in the price, plus for some reason top Tip cylinders was missing, witched was added for free. What I like about it, my daily seat time has almost been cut buy one third and larger tasks are a breezes now.
I just traded in my JD 2014 X 500 Garden Tractor w/ 100 hrs toward a new 1023 E. It was a great running tractor with no issues at all! I traded up because I live in a new area and I have ALOT of work to do.
My local kubota dealership had a used tractor with backhoe attachment on their lot they were trying to sell for some guy who had special ordered it and had a stoke within weeks of taking delivery. Nearly $50k machine in an areas where almost no one buys backhoe attatchments, so the dealership wasn't willing to buy it back, only try to server as a middleman.
I bought a used BX22 Loader/Backhoe/60" Belly Mower in 2006, best tool I ever purchased! Snow, the heavier the better. Keep it inside so the mice don't get at it $$$$$
I have over 20 hours on 2 weekends on new GC1723E with FEL from work on new to me house needing a lot of tree and dirt and rock work, I am projecting a year of work. Loaded tires, Heavy Hitch and 420 pounds and ROPS light upgrade. After that I plan to sell it and buy a large yard tractor just to cut the grass. I figure if I lose $3-4000, that's a fraction of what I would have paid professions to do the work - - one estimate for one project was over $3000. Tractor may have 150-200 hours, lives in temp controlled shed, will be a great buy for someone.
You didn't mention lease return tractors. Here in Washington many of the Orchard operators lease a number of compact tractors during the season, especially at harvest where they have to move there crops in a hurry. Most of these just pull wagons back and forth from orchard to the packing facilities. Easy use, most never use their PTOs, 3Pt or loaders if equipt with one. And at the end of the season there are a bunch ready to flood the market. Quite often they still have a active warranty as well. So you see these farmers need access to a number of tractors without having the cost of purchasing, maintaining and storing them when they have less need. Which might make a good deal for you.

Death and divorce is about the best way to buy any high dollar investment. In death often the family has no attachment to it and just wants the cash and with divorce most just want to start new
My reason was your next to last reason for selling my tractor. I had a seeder that would run dry at just over getting half my field done. I didn't want to fold up and head back to the barn to refill every time, so I bought a supply tractor. Using a truck just wasn't feasible for my field. Anyways, I did that for a few years, running a small tractor and a trailer as a supply runner with a small box of tools and parts just in case. Eventually I upgraded seeders which held more volume and no longer needed my supply tractor and sold it off. I believe it only had 16-18 hours on it when I sold it. Buyer thought it was a piece of junk cause I was selling a tractor that was barely run. I explained to him the same thing I just said and he understood. Last I spoke to him, he was very happy with the tractor and happy to get it for such a great price over new. It was basically still new with even the high end, 18 hours on it.
I can tell you one reason here in Eastern Kentucky people claim too have a farm and meet the bare minimum requirements for it then they get a large portion of it pay by the government due too their farm not making money they due this every couple of years too keep new tractor and too make money I know several people who done this.
Yeah I have a kubota b2620 with loader and belly mower with about 250 hours and honestly love this machine! But that said I’d love to have this tractor with a cab so I’m looking to trade it in on a b2650 cab tractor. Hey all be safe will get past this covid19 one day
Understand exactly what your saying, grew up on a Farm in Southern Iowa, now Alaska, but 2 years and 210 hrs on my JD 2032 R was great,but now need more lifting capacity than what it has,so trading up to a 3039R JD,
Thinking half or so would just be upgrading cause they got a smaller tractor and decided they want more power either for bigger implements or more lifting capacity.

I've seen guys buy a tractor and soon became disappointed as it couldn't perform as the dealer told them it would. It was either a power or lifting capacity issue.

I have an 89 john deere 755 4x4 with loader, belly mower with just a tick over 600 hrs. I would never trade in on a new one! I would consider buying a new one and keeping the old one!
I got a 1988 1572 Cub cadet with 60 inch deck. 97 hours on itthe only thing those tires you've ever touched with grass and it's never sit outside at night in its life. Found my yard was too large for it. Bought a zero-turn about two after I bought it. Never look backnow I have a 54 two 60's an all 72 tanks by Cub cadet none have over three hundred hours on them. Awesome well-built machines.all or second-hand machines either from an estate or from a landscaper that jumped in it then jump right back out to a regular job
We bought a used mahindra 4535 45hp with 120hrs. Had it for 2-3years. The seat was the only issue as it was broke. It did the job, but many of reasons we sold it at 300hrs. 1. It took too long to do a job ie, shredding 2. Too short of a reach on the loader 3. Open controls in high heat (110°F) 4. Exhaust was loud under the canopy 5. Cancer treatment that heat plays hell (thankfully that part is over in life but still side effects of treatments linger) 6. The steps being an issue as i now have a metal leg (too narrow and wrong angle mahindra cab tractors are really nice on the steps where jd and new holland are not) 7. Too small for future plans we are going to do with the land Now looking at the 75hp for a 4x5 baler and hay mower in the future with a 12ft. batwing. Also custom hire work i plan to do. Made sense to me to sell and broken even on it. I got what i paid for on the shredder and tractor with the disc. Kept the trailer and landscape rack.
@@davesilvia9711 they are really good tractors. Never any issue even for higher hours. Always popped right off without issue. Open controls are loud machines but enclosed are one of the quietest on the market. They do love devouring coolant. And the foot throttle likes to stick if not maintaining properly or leaving in the weather. Easy to work loose. Also, the lights halogen bulbs like to blow but mechanically sound. Will definitely buy another here in the coming few months.
@@davesilvia9711 if you listen to your machine, you can usually tell when theres an issue. I coukd careless about sensors going bad. My pickup had O2, Oil. 4X4 position, oil temp, knock sensor and so forth that were bad. I didnt care as it still ran. Finally redone them after 6 years. Ill do the same with the tractor. As long as it works, itll run. It fails, theres a warranty. I trade or sell outright every 4 years as it is for tex reasons.
The one I purchased did, but have heard a couple folks now state it didn't. Perhaps they changed how they package the kit? Not positive. Will do more research nowl
Perhaps this happens more with automobiles, but after a flood or Katrina-type event, some impacted vehicles or equipment gets dried out and moved/sold out of the area. Not all that uncommon for cars and doesn't always get counted as salvage so no legal record. Seems could be similar with tractors but maybe not so much?
...and sometimes the "perfect" sized tractor just isn't physically possible. For example: not many machines can safely lift more than the machine itself weighs (not aware of a single tractor that can do it) which means multiple may be necessary.
2000 jd4600.....one front axle seal.......2012 jd4720.....three engine water pumps......speed sensor x2......more ac failures than i care to remember......steering tie rods replaced twice.......diverter valve shorted out.......1200 hours........
I work in underground mining, we consider 14000 hours the machine is junk and time to rebuild...basically we re use the frame and body ,everything else is rebuild units...in the 14000 hours of use most of the power train has been replaced at least once usually the engine goes to 14000 hours..farm stuff seams to be way better in life of equipment...
Excellent information, Courtney. We have always advised our customers that are considering a vehicle purchase to take it to a trusted mechanic for an inspection. We've worked on enough rolling stock to be considered experts I guess, in a humble way, lol. There is always a reason a vehicle is for sale, if that reason can be discovered, you're way ahead in the game....
Size of tractor is a really tough one for a first time buyer/ operator. A subcompact was a huge upgrade for me compared to lawn tractors and a loader has saved my back a hundred times over. I have hit a few jobs where I was left wishing I had bought a model up/bigger but for the most part, I’m very happy and won’t be selling anytime Soon. I was afraid to buy a used tractor when I got this, but after watching your videos I can see some good reasons for buying a used tractor.

in last 15 years...Traded in a Loaded X748 with a Blower ( 15 hours) due to snow blowing back at me and it got me soaked a few times..Bought a 1026R. Great machine, but NO dual brakes for back draging on a incline. Also would NOt dump over a 6 ft fence. Traded in at 50 hours ( 2 years) Bought a classic 2025R. Great machine . Added Kens Bolt on levers and hooks. Bought Artillian forks. This tractor Barely would dump over a 6 ft fence, And I should have tried it before I bought it. Traded in with 80 hours. Due to great incentives, I bought a 3025E. Lost my dual brakes, Lost the BLI ( which I put one on from a 300CX loader) But I gained a ton of ground clearance I wanted, gained stability, gained loader height and super easy fuel fill in the rear. I added ( Goodworks tractor links) a seat cover, lights, and I added a Line cover on the loader ( 300CX again) and a heated seat pad which works Excellent in winter. Previously traded in a 850 BLT with 60 hours, a 1050T with 60 hours, a 670 BLT with 50 hours, a 870 BLT with 200 hours, a 990BLT with 20 hours and a 4005 BLT with 35 hours.. Lots of people got low hours tractors as my life and needs changed. I guess my Blood does Run GREEN ..
funny thats the same reason i got my tractor with digger. buying a tractor was cheaper that renting the equipment. and now use it for so so maney things.
I have no idea how anyone would alter the hours. Fortunately, the vast majority of humanity is honest and respectable. However, there will be a bad apple here or there no matter what you do.
Looking for help: Deere 1025R vs 3025e - Going to be buying one or the other in next 30 days. Need: I just bought 30 raw acres that needs to be cleared then maintained. Terrain: I have about 15 acres that is sandy loam that cattle were on but needs to some leveling then general mowing, the other 15 acres that is a typical of the Texas hill country (heavy large rock / granite mix with Sandy loam, lots of cedar elm and oaks) I have heard the 1025R might be smaller frame but has more features to make it a better long term, vs the 3025 which will be better to clear now, but maybe to large for general maintenance. (get under trees, no under frame mower, etc) This will also me my first tractor. Before this I used my grandfathers 1986 Ford tractor
It's not that the 1025r couldn't tackle the job, but if I was looking specifically for a tractor to handle utility-type work -- loader and 3 point tasks -- then I'd get a larger machine that would provide more stability and capability.
I'm loving my 3033R for 15 acres with a grapple, bucket, and 60inch rotary cutter. I bought mine brand new. But the rotary cutter used from a man who buys and resales equipment. I'm in hilly southeast ohio. Using grapple to move firewood and pop roots from junk shrub brushes that grow. Rotary cut for the orchard and trails. Bucket for scooping whatever. @@YMF1891 this thing is beastly. I just wish buying a tractor was not so dilited down with so many models. I like other brands that offered more standard features. Like LS and RK. Those lacked good financing options like 0 percent. I also was platinum JD rewards for being a vet. Which gets me 10% JD store and they gave me 10% at parts desk at local JD. I watched so many videos. Once I seen a grapple in action I knew I meeded a grapple.a heavy tractor. The 3033R comes in at like 2900lbs and I think that is before FEL However, because I watched a video by good tractor that said kubato has different colors of orange that was the first thing I noticed that the wheel didn't match the frame or the hood that is a deal breaker for me as I'm a gear head type that likes cars and detailing cars and working on cars. Then the tranny hump is bigger on kubato. The floor board is all metal. I didn't like gas tank location on LS or the 3033R. I love the control stick on 3033R. I love the air ride type seat on the 3033R. I dont like the light placement on rops on 3033R. I don't like where the hose hang on 3033r allowing the flexible braided vlack sheeting to rub the tire. I love the frontier grapple but which the top part went all the way the cross instead of 2/3. I was not a fan of the price on JD but I see that the resale price many many years down the road is high. I like the the fel can dump into a my father in laws 5 ton dump truck. I don't like the lack of a tool box. I do like the tilt steering wheel. I like the rubber type floor mat. I do like 12 volt by cup holder to charge my phone. I hate the fact that my 29k spent didnt get me arm rest. The 29k was 3033R with grapple and thumb toggle on control stick, 3rd function kit in the rear, hose kit to the front, and the frontend loader.

I love watching you and Christy work with your families. When my parents were alive my dad always had projects going, and of course the whole family would be there to help out. Whenever one of us where doing something, dad would rally the family to your place. The best memories for us and the grand kids.
When I bought our new house with acreage it came with an option to buy the tractor the owner used. It was a 54hp 2003 New Holland with a FEL. This property had open woods on most of the 12 acres and it was situated on a gentle slope. It was my first tractor and I didn’t know any better. I kept it for about 4 years but it’s uses were minimal other than hauling cut firewood up to the house. In August of 2020 I finally said I needed a smaller tractor and was thinking a 3033 John Deere would be great. The only problem was everyone in the country was buying tractors. The salesman offered me a 2038R and I was surprised by how much it could do with a turbo engine and it was more nimble in amongst the trees. I could not be more happy. It now has a 100 hours after a year and I’m not selling it. 😁

You are absolutely right about life changes situations. We just purchased a country property and a tractor is needed. I just sold my brand new John Deere 17G excavator with only 30 hours on it and bought a new John Deere 3039R. I made sure to be proactive and got the snow cab just so down the road I won't regret not having it. Also got set up for the 3rd function. Anyone purchasing a Tractor or any other peace of equipment need to think about the future. Don't just buy what you need now, think about what you might do later too. Great Video!

I put 900 hrs on my 2015 in less than 2 years . Cleared 7 acres , built a 1/2 acre pond , 1000' driveway , dug foundation for house etc. I lost track of how many stumps the attached backhoe pulled outta the ground . Every off day was spent on that thing . It has 966hrs now but the rest/vacation is over . Clearing a spot for a garage/shop now . Tractors are made to work . :D

Just like tractors and had quite a few under 100hrs guys using them when building new house and decide to sell. My current JD 2305 has 80 hrs and is my go to toy. If you wait and search many can be found under 100hrs.
2014 3032e here...155 or so hours in 6 years. I love it, but when i use it I push its limits. Knowing what i know now, I wish I had spent $5k more and gotten the low end of the 4 series. Every time i get a flyer from the dealer i tell my wife we’re going to upgrade. She rolls her eyes.

I can you tell some of the reasons are a lot of people, including myself don't do their homework when buying a tractor. I bought a 2018 J.D.3025e. What was delivered was a leftover 2017 still it was a brand new tractor. But. In 2018 the 3 e's were upgraded to where they will now accept a backhoe. I'm wanting to upgrade to the new 3D series as you can get them with a geared transmission which was kinda what i wanted, when to the J.D. dealership. I've just made my 24th payment on it and last week I just did my 50 hour maintenance on it. It still looks new with 54 engine hours and 38 PTO hours on it.
I know a few people that bought subcompact tractors mainly to cut grass, then realized it would be a lot easier with a zero turn. They only used the loader for occasional snow and mulch once a year.
zero turns are a one trick pony, they are typically gas powered the engines wont last like a diesel and they burn far more fuel. I personally wouldn't trade my BX2350. it has the power, longevity, fuel efficiency, and versatility to handle anything a 2 acre yard could possibly throw at it. want a garden? buy a tiller. want to fix my driveway? box blade or loader.
I live in western NY and we get SNOW. that heated cab sure is nice. it came with a Curtis cab.
I found a 3 year old Deere 3033R with 54 hours.Older gentleman bought it then passed away and took his family year to settle the estate..So it set in a barn for a year or longer. Also bought a 1982 Deere 4240 with 5200 hours.Guy only used it o cut and bale hay
Bought a 2014 3038e from a coworker this May (2020). It had 32.4 hours on it. He used it to push a little snow. Pto had never been used. He had bold plans, then never used it.

I bought a brand new L2501 standard trans kubota about 6 years ago! I needed it for a few purposes but not sure how much I’d use it ,so I bought a tractor with the least features , just a bare bones tractor. I didn’t want to spend big money on something that didn’t get used much.
After 6 years I used the tractor much more than anticipated and soon realized the manual trans was a pain for my needs. Plus a few times I could have used more HP. I did a lot of loader work with tight maneuvers and precision placement! The manual trans made it much more challenging! I soon heard from other tractor owners that a manual trans tractor is really best for long hauls , like brush hog work or tilling type work!
I did not have a ton of hours cause most of my jobs involved about 10-20 Minutes! Maybe an hour at a time at most.
My local Kubota dealer was more than happy to help me out..😅 they gave me a fair trade in value towards a 3902 HST. Absolutely love this tractor …the 3902 was just about double the cost of the 2501 but well worth it knowing it’ll serve me better! The little things like having PS was a huge help when turning at slow speeds with a heavy load!
It’s funny cause many of my tractor buddies grumbled at me for trading my 2501 in….said I’ll regret it later. The 2501 is a basic no frills machine that’s easy to work on…no computers or regen stuff! I get it but it’s worth it for me to have a tractor that makes my life easier!
We bought a used 3038e in ‘15 with a bucket on the front and tires that had just been filled. 2 hours on it. Gentleman bought it, tried getting to work on his property, immediately realized he needed something much bigger and traded it right back in. We saved several thousand on a new tractor. We had a lot of skepticism before buying but all these years later it’s running great.
What about buying used to avoid tier 4 and additional machinery that goes with it. It also makes access harder on a machine.
Right to repair. Cost to much for every small sensor lock out/shutdown.
I have two John Deere tractors and love them very much. I would not trade either of them in and my 790 tractor has around 134 hours on it and the 2016 3032E has just 36 hours on it. I don't use either of them very much and they are used primarily for work around my home, but have been used away from home some. My brother has a new Mahindra and it just came from the dealership and went back after it was first delivered back to him. After the remarks I read about in some videos on that brand I would never think of getting one.
Most low hour tractors around here at dealers were rental units usually a year or two old and even though they have under a thousand hours they are beat and most of the dealers want close to new price for the tractor when I can go buy a one owner tractor with a few thousand hours in decent shape for tens of thousands less and some times with a lot more attachments. You have compact tractors and large tractors today that are cost more than the farm cost and the manufacturers are making them so the owners and farmers can not work on them so many at first problem they are being traded in at low hours and those problems are being passed on to the next person along with the repair costs and John Deere is the worst at this so be aware of any low hour Deeres at dealers and the dealer isn't going to tell you the problems cause they just want the tractors off their lot. I say look for the one owner private tractors that have been used for years usually the people selling them are more honest and usually you can spot the problems easier. We were burned by John Deere on a hundred thousand dollar 7930 with less than 100hrs on it and will never buy another Deere product as long as we have the farm. For the last 80+ years we were a Grean farm with a couple Steigers but we are slowly turning Blue and Red (New Holland and Case) A lot better service plus cheaper and we can work on them our selves. Be cautious of low hours too because many new tractors with digital dashes the hours are stored in the dash and few hundred bucks can take a 2-3000hrs tractors back to a few hundred hour tractor very easily.
Bought my B2410 new in the crate back in 2001. It has less than 500 hours on it today. It's not that I don't use it, because I do, but there are only so many times I can cut the grass with it. :) I have a backhoe which has been used a lot, tiller, finish mower, rough cut mower, and a few other attachments for it, but even with everything I have done with it, it is still under 500 hours. Can't believe it is almost 20 years old. I just replaced the battery after 18 years on it, and other than a lift link seizing up, it has been trouble free.

Close to where I live, on the outskirts of Sydney Australia a fellow is running a similar business to yours, selling recent model, low hour tractors. We visited before the virus disaster and looked at a very nice little B series Kubota.
We asked where he sources his tractors. He said he has a friend who is a solicitor dealing with bankruptcies, property settlements, death estates & all that sort of thing. His friend ended up with tractors needing somewhere to go. He is a truck driver by trade and said he would buy them & then sell them.

Good Works Tractors maybe if you have some free time after Easter contact a few lawyers around where you are and let them know you can help them out if they have tractors they are trying to deal with. Real estate agents too. Out here at least I see ads for tractors from real estate agents & most probably they’d rather not deal with tractors if they don’t have to.

reasons for selling my new tractor
1. wrong color, wife does not like green she wanted pink.
2. bought a new tractor but wife wanted new car, wife doesn't like riding on the fender so I have to sell the tractor and buy her a car.
3. wife's dog thinks new tractor is a trespasser and won't stop barking at the tractor and biting the tires.
My brother does not like green either, says if it is not red,leave it in the shed... or sell it.
I am one of those guys. I had a 2016 1023E that I put about 190 hours on in 2 years. I bought the 1023E for budget reasons, and was amazed at how awesome these little machines are and how much they can do. The problem is (and what the dealers don’t tell you) is that the attachments you can get for them are expensive and HIGHLY addictive! TH-cam definitely doesn’t help with this addiction issue either (love the videos...please keep them coming!). The next thing you know is you’re researching the new three point, pto driven, chrome plated, self cleaning, power dog washer with automatic bow tying ribbon feeders...and it’s only $6000! In my case it was a backhoe. I have several ditches on my property that I need to maintain and drainage issues to work on and several friends I could help with it...see how this works. So I traded the 1023E in on a 2018 1025R TLB. The 2019 models were in at my dealer and they were “blowing out” the 2018 models. I absolutely love the newer tractor. I had them add some extra LED lights to it and the silly features like cruise control and suspension seat are kinda cool too. I just wish it was a little heavier and the loader had a little more lift capacity...like a 2038R. I think I have a problem, and I may need a 12 step program...I hope step 2 has JDQA.😉
It's common in the corporate world to spend money instead of letting the IRS take it. You had a good year, spend 30k on equipment, sell it a year later. You take less than a hit on the tractor than paying the taxes.
can you do a video of comparison of 'garden' tractor to 'sub compact' tractor? I only have a 1.5 acre but do a ton of my own landscaping, moving boulders, mulch, making berms...etc and have all done this by hand and wheelbarrow. I have been watching tons of videos but can't decide what is going to be my best option. The Ventrac with all the attachments is ideal but cost prohibitive. The Simplicity Legacy XL likes good as an example whereas a JD 1025R may be too much.
I don't have a backhoe on my 3038e but there is a neighbor near me that will do work for $60.00 an hour. Price of a backhoe maybe $7000.00 or more. I think I will use the neighbor. Plus his fuel and labor all in one.
I would think low hours would depend on age, a 10 year old tractor with 2000 hours would be low hours, my tractor is a 2003 Massey Ferguson 1428 with 150 hours on it I bought it new the reason for such low hours is I bought it to clean driveway when it snows (driveway way is 800 feet long) use to move logs or brush to burn pile but it has set for 6 months at a time so low hours comes into play more for a newer tractor but not for a older tractor but the less hours the better
I have a BX2350 with 430 hours on it. its roughly 13 years old. I bought it last may for $8k. came with a heated cab, mower, and 3pt snowblower. if I bought a new rig it would have been $20K
Purchase a 2015R with Cab and only 81 hours I have used it 2 winters and still only have 121 hours. 40 hours in two years that is nothing. Love my Deere best purchase I ever made. The only problem is very few dealers in the area ( Ont. Canada)
I just bought a 2004 John Deere 5205 with 980 hours on it. It was owned by a large landscaping firm and they had all the service paperwork, and the tractor was solid. I asked the manager why they were selling the tractor and he told me it was just too big of a tractor for residential landscaping work and it had sat far more than it worked.
I had a John Deere 2032r. after about 4-8 hours it developed problems. Belly mower was cutting the hair pins and falling off. Dealer fixed it with bigger pins and I think it had that issue twice. some where around 40-60 hours it started kicking out of 4x4. You could watch the lever wiggle and kick out while driving. It went back to the dealer more than 4 times and not being able to fix it they were blaming tire pressure to the terrain I was driving on. Some where along way of the back and forth trips it picked up a new problem. The amount of run out when taking your foot off the forward pedal became about 3 or 4 times longer but only when the mower was engaged. At about 110 hours I complained they should just replace it since they can't fix it.I had to pay $1800 due to having over 100 hours on it and they gave me a new 2032r that didn't have any of the issues until recent but its over 500 hours now and picked up that run out issue. I feel bad for who ever got the first tractor.

I live in Iowa where John Deere manufactures a lot of equipment. Low hour tractors near me are often trade ins from employees. Deere offers rebates to employees and many trade every year for just a small premium to the dealer. This is primarily small garden and utility tractors. I've seen equipment with as little as 20 hours!
I am a Paraplegic that needs a hand Hydro. None out there that I could find makes one and the 1023 25 may be tough to get on, but I am ambitious and mechanical. A winch on the roll bar with a swivel and easy enough. Remember I'm the guy with the heavy gravely that my home made roll bar reaches out and grabs limbs and climbs trees? I ended up buying a 1984 JD 430 with a Yanmar. I need to maintain 1200' of ditch and that is the smallest toughest heaviest machine I could think of with hand hydro 1180 lbs alone. It is a mule. I bought one with the intent of rebuilding it buying a tiller and building a FEL. Tractor is done and looks new, should have the FEL done soon. Going to use a box blade with scarifiers and shape and move things with the FEL. I don't really like the new tractors and don't want to wear one out with the emission crap. I think all the rear fenders look interchangeable. I thought about a 1023 or 25 but fabbing the forward and reverse to the left side and up to one lever would void the warranty. Maybe one reason folks are selling or in my case not buying is product versatility. No matter, $7k later I'm not stopping! Stay safe everyone! Rebuild a tractor and get parts offline is a good way to distance.
My youngest brother had Spina bifida. Never took a step in his whole life. Died at 43 in 99. Never complained about it. I try to be as strong as he was. Wish I had your mechanical abilities. Stay safe.
My dad has lost the use of his legs. He is presently modifying a 2001 New Holland TC29 to hand controls. He has mounted a two lever hydraulic valve body on the left side with small arms to actuate the linkage for forward and reverse (hydrostatic) under the floor boards. The whole system is run off of the tractor hydraulics.
I wished I could afford a nice shiny tractor. I have a 1968 oliver tractor that I've had for 20plus years. It may be obsolete on a farm today but for a homeowner in the country that takes care of many acres this tractor is definitely beneficial. I have all the obsolete equipment for it also. Now I'm personally pulling some age and am thinking that if possible I'm going to be looking at something shiny with a factory cab in the future

I had a John Deere 4105 I hated the front loader hydraulic system. I open up the down part of tractor where the filter sit in housing. It was filled with aluminum partial that the factory did not clean out. Sold it. And bought for a Kubota L6060 . Love the tractor and the hydraulic on loader works right.
Yes, debris in the system is not uncommon which is why most manufacturers suggest a break in fluid and filter change . This is not a John Deere specific item, but common throughout all machinery.

I got a question about my hour meter. It reads 300.2 hours. The problem is the minute counter counts to 10 before it rolls to 301. Commen sense says it should count 0.1 every 6 minutes. But instead it counts 10 minutes then rolls 0.1 that means I really have 300 times 100 minute periods. I can do the math to figure real hours. I just wonder if anyone else has run into this?

Bought in Dec 2019 Rental 2017 Kubota L4701 with front loader, had 119 hours for $20k. Added $10k of options. Have 150 hrs now, I love it. Added Canopy, LED F/B lights, 6' scrap grapple, Tip/Tilt, Land Pride 6' hyd box scraper, third function. Moving from New Holland 33 hp to Kubota 47 hp.

ArizVern just curious how it’s been for you. I’ve always been sceptical about buying a rental machine or leased tractor as I’m sure we’re all guilty of it buy when we rent a machine we beat on them pretty hard and get our moneys worth out of them?. But I’d love to hear your story
I don't often buy rental machines, but am not completely opposed to it. If it's a "low hour" rental and still under factory warranty, then it could very well be just fine. It's easy to tell how it's been treated by cosmetic condition. Also, many of those rentals are long-term, so just one client or just a handful of clients. Additionally, dealers are typically very good about maintenance and doing everything on schedule. Just my two cents.
@@GoodWorksTractors Had a lot of same thoughts. Some how they missed the $2,500 Tip/Tilt in the price, plus for some reason top Tip cylinders was missing, witched was added for free. What I like about it, my daily seat time has almost been cut buy one third and larger tasks are a breezes now.
I just traded in my JD 2014 X 500 Garden Tractor w/ 100 hrs toward a new 1023 E. It was a great running tractor with no issues at all! I traded up because I live in a new area and I have ALOT of work to do.
My local kubota dealership had a used tractor with backhoe attachment on their lot they were trying to sell for some guy who had special ordered it and had a stoke within weeks of taking delivery. Nearly $50k machine in an areas where almost no one buys backhoe attatchments, so the dealership wasn't willing to buy it back, only try to server as a middleman.

I bought a used BX22 Loader/Backhoe/60" Belly Mower in 2006, best tool I ever purchased! Snow, the heavier the better. Keep it inside so the mice don't get at it $$$$$
I have over 20 hours on 2 weekends on new GC1723E with FEL from work on new to me house needing a lot of tree and dirt and rock work, I am projecting a year of work. Loaded tires, Heavy Hitch and 420 pounds and ROPS light upgrade. After that I plan to sell it and buy a large yard tractor just to cut the grass. I figure if I lose $3-4000, that's a fraction of what I would have paid professions to do the work - - one estimate for one project was over $3000. Tractor may have 150-200 hours, lives in temp controlled shed, will be a great buy for someone.
You didn't mention lease return tractors. Here in Washington many of the Orchard operators lease a number of compact tractors during the season, especially at harvest where they have to move there crops in a hurry. Most of these just pull wagons back and forth from orchard to the packing facilities. Easy use, most never use their PTOs, 3Pt or loaders if equipt with one. And at the end of the season there are a bunch ready to flood the market. Quite often they still have a active warranty as well.

My reason was your next to last reason for selling my tractor. I had a seeder that would run dry at just over getting half my field done. I didn't want to fold up and head back to the barn to refill every time, so I bought a supply tractor. Using a truck just wasn't feasible for my field. Anyways, I did that for a few years, running a small tractor and a trailer as a supply runner with a small box of tools and parts just in case. Eventually I upgraded seeders which held more volume and no longer needed my supply tractor and sold it off. I believe it only had 16-18 hours on it when I sold it. Buyer thought it was a piece of junk cause I was selling a tractor that was barely run. I explained to him the same thing I just said and he understood. Last I spoke to him, he was very happy with the tractor and happy to get it for such a great price over new. It was basically still new with even the high end, 18 hours on it.
Didn't even question the factory cab! Heat, AC, radio, air filtration!

I can tell you one reason here in Eastern Kentucky people claim too have a farm and meet the bare minimum requirements for it then they get a large portion of it pay by the government due too their farm not making money they due this every couple of years too keep new tractor and too make money I know several people who done this.

Understand exactly what your saying, grew up on a Farm in Southern Iowa, now Alaska, but 2 years and 210 hrs on my JD 2032 R was great,but now need more lifting capacity than what it has,so trading up to a 3039R JD,
Thinking half or so would just be upgrading cause they got a smaller tractor and decided they want more power either for bigger implements or more lifting capacity.
I just got a 2008 JD 5425 cab loader 4x4 just 671hrs. Older man traded it in on a smaller tractor

I've seen guys buy a tractor and soon became disappointed as it couldn't perform as the dealer told them it would. It was either a power or lifting capacity issue.

I got a 1988 1572 Cub cadet with 60 inch deck. 97 hours on itthe only thing those tires you've ever touched with grass and it's never sit outside at night in its life. Found my yard was too large for it. Bought a zero-turn about two after I bought it. Never look backnow I have a 54 two 60's an all 72 tanks by Cub cadet none have over three hundred hours on them. Awesome well-built machines.all or second-hand machines either from an estate or from a landscaper that jumped in it then jump right back out to a regular job

We bought a used mahindra 4535 45hp with 120hrs. Had it for 2-3years. The seat was the only issue as it was broke. It did the job, but many of reasons we sold it at 300hrs.
1. It took too long to do a job ie, shredding
2. Too short of a reach on the loader
3. Open controls in high heat (110°F)
4. Exhaust was loud under the canopy
5. Cancer treatment that heat plays hell (thankfully that part is over in life but still side effects of treatments linger)
6. The steps being an issue as i now have a metal leg (too narrow and wrong angle mahindra cab tractors are really nice on the steps where jd and new holland are not)
7. Too small for future plans we are going to do with the land
Now looking at the 75hp for a 4x5 baler and hay mower in the future with a 12ft. batwing. Also custom hire work i plan to do. Made sense to me to sell and broken even on it. I got what i paid for on the shredder and tractor with the disc. Kept the trailer and landscape rack.

@@davesilvia9711 they are really good tractors. Never any issue even for higher hours. Always popped right off without issue. Open controls are loud machines but enclosed are one of the quietest on the market. They do love devouring coolant. And the foot throttle likes to stick if not maintaining properly or leaving in the weather. Easy to work loose. Also, the lights halogen bulbs like to blow but mechanically sound. Will definitely buy another here in the coming few months.

@@davesilvia9711 if you listen to your machine, you can usually tell when theres an issue. I coukd careless about sensors going bad. My pickup had O2, Oil. 4X4 position, oil temp, knock sensor and so forth that were bad. I didnt care as it still ran. Finally redone them after 6 years. Ill do the same with the tractor. As long as it works, itll run. It fails, theres a warranty. I trade or sell outright every 4 years as it is for tex reasons.

Perhaps this happens more with automobiles, but after a flood or Katrina-type event, some impacted vehicles or equipment gets dried out and moved/sold out of the area. Not all that uncommon for cars and doesn't always get counted as salvage so no legal record. Seems could be similar with tractors but maybe not so much?
...and sometimes the "perfect" sized tractor just isn't physically possible. For example: not many machines can safely lift more than the machine itself weighs (not aware of a single tractor that can do it) which means multiple may be necessary.

I work in underground mining, we consider 14000 hours the machine is junk and time to rebuild...basically we re use the frame and body ,everything else is rebuild units...in the 14000 hours of use most of the power train has been replaced at least once usually the engine goes to 14000 hours..farm stuff seams to be way better in life of equipment...
Excellent information, Courtney. We have always advised our customers that are considering a vehicle purchase to take it to a trusted mechanic for an inspection. We've worked on enough rolling stock to be considered experts I guess, in a humble way, lol. There is always a reason a vehicle is for sale, if that reason can be discovered, you're way ahead in the game....
Size of tractor is a really tough one for a first time buyer/ operator. A subcompact was a huge upgrade for me compared to lawn tractors and a loader has saved my back a hundred times over. I have hit a few jobs where I was left wishing I had bought a model up/bigger but for the most part, I’m very happy and won’t be selling anytime Soon. I was afraid to buy a used tractor when I got this, but after watching your videos I can see some good reasons for buying a used tractor.

in last 15 years...Traded in a Loaded X748 with a Blower ( 15 hours) due to snow blowing back at me and it got me soaked a few times..Bought a 1026R. Great machine, but NO dual brakes for back draging on a incline. Also would NOt dump over a 6 ft fence. Traded in at 50 hours ( 2 years) Bought a classic 2025R. Great machine . Added Kens Bolt on levers and hooks. Bought Artillian forks. This tractor Barely would dump over a 6 ft fence, And I should have tried it before I bought it. Traded in with 80 hours. Due to great incentives, I bought a 3025E. Lost my dual brakes, Lost the BLI ( which I put one on from a 300CX loader) But I gained a ton of ground clearance I wanted, gained stability, gained loader height and super easy fuel fill in the rear. I added ( Goodworks tractor links) a seat cover, lights, and I added a Line cover on the loader ( 300CX again) and a heated seat pad which works Excellent in winter. Previously traded in a 850 BLT with 60 hours, a 1050T with 60 hours, a 670 BLT with 50 hours, a 870 BLT with 200 hours, a 990BLT with 20 hours and a 4005 BLT with 35 hours.. Lots of people got low hours tractors as my life and needs changed. I guess my Blood does Run GREEN ..
funny thats the same reason i got my tractor with digger. buying a tractor was cheaper that renting the equipment. and now use it for so so maney things.

Looking for help: Deere 1025R vs 3025e - Going to be buying one or the other in next 30 days. Need: I just bought 30 raw acres that needs to be cleared then maintained. Terrain: I have about 15 acres that is sandy loam that cattle were on but needs to some leveling then general mowing, the other 15 acres that is a typical of the Texas hill country (heavy large rock / granite mix with Sandy loam, lots of cedar elm and oaks) I have heard the 1025R might be smaller frame but has more features to make it a better long term, vs the 3025 which will be better to clear now, but maybe to large for general maintenance. (get under trees, no under frame mower, etc) This will also me my first tractor. Before this I used my grandfathers 1986 Ford tractor
It's not that the 1025r couldn't tackle the job, but if I was looking specifically for a tractor to handle utility-type work -- loader and 3 point tasks -- then I'd get a larger machine that would provide more stability and capability.

I'm loving my 3033R for 15 acres with a grapple, bucket, and 60inch rotary cutter. I bought mine brand new. But the rotary cutter used from a man who buys and resales equipment. I'm in hilly southeast ohio. Using grapple to move firewood and pop roots from junk shrub brushes that grow. Rotary cut for the orchard and trails. Bucket for scooping whatever. I really like my 1025R but if I was buying 30 raw acres I would trade it in for 3033.
@@YMF1891 this thing is beastly. I just wish buying a tractor was not so dilited down with so many models. I like other brands that offered more standard features. Like LS and RK. Those lacked good financing options like 0 percent. I also was platinum JD rewards for being a vet. Which gets me 10% JD store and they gave me 10% at parts desk at local JD. I watched so many videos. Once I seen a grapple in action I knew I meeded a grapple.a heavy tractor. The 3033R comes in at like 2900lbs and I think that is before FEL
However, because I watched a video by good tractor that said kubato has different colors of orange that was the first thing I noticed that the wheel didn't match the frame or the hood that is a deal breaker for me as I'm a gear head type that likes cars and detailing cars and working on cars. Then the tranny hump is bigger on kubato. The floor board is all metal. I didn't like gas tank location on LS or the 3033R. I love the control stick on 3033R. I love the air ride type seat on the 3033R. I dont like the light placement on rops on 3033R. I don't like where the hose hang on 3033r allowing the flexible braided vlack sheeting to rub the tire. I love the frontier grapple but which the top part went all the way the cross instead of 2/3. I was not a fan of the price on JD but I see that the resale price many many years down the road is high. I like the the fel can dump into a my father in laws 5 ton dump truck. I don't like the lack of a tool box. I do like the tilt steering wheel. I like the rubber type floor mat. I do like 12 volt by cup holder to charge my phone. I hate the fact that my 29k spent didnt get me arm rest. The 29k was 3033R with grapple and thumb toggle on control stick, 3rd function kit in the rear, hose kit to the front, and the frontend loader.
