Well, in casual play people want to have fun, not be singled out and killed early. In competitive play the very point is to figure out who is the strongest player at the moment regardless of wether the tactics used are nice or fun for the opposing player. Edit: Also to be fair the average casual camper/tunneler isn't even good enough of a player to really utilize those tactics in a way that'd give them an edge in competitive play. Don't tell me you see no difference between a facecamping Bubba who gets one kill at the expense of ruining someone else's game and a competitive player doing some dynamic proxy camping to secure a 4k.
I am glad you waited this much with this version of the video my problem withh the trickster comparisons was the time, people really need it to flesh out and learn everything about the killer, but this is done well.

Can someone explain the reasoning behind banning certain survivor perks? This is meant to be highest level play, why not allow everything? Especially when you give the killer their best map......
because, good survivors without limited resources of any sort easily outdo killers, the famous bully squad is a good example of that in action and thats not even playing well, thats playing to not do gens half the time. but in high levels of play it becomes really hard for a killer to win if the survivors have all the resources they could possibly bring, especially if you allow boon of healing, free medkits. survivors are always full hp in that situation. not to mention how strong boon of healing is with actual medkits. and thats just one example. comms, high tier teamplay, versus, a single person, thats why pros limit survivor resources and let killers choose the map.
i really wish this game was playable at high mmr without tunnelling survivors, gens just go by too quick and even if u tunnel a survivor out quickly could still be 3 man out just because matches are so short gen wise
@@tanderson1480 yeah and this could be solved so easily just by having diffrent gen counts for diffrent killers. Like default 5 gens on nurse, blight and other strong killers and 6 or 7 gens for the weaker killers like clown, myres..
I decided to make a chapter lol. I like it and think it's cool but it may be a bit op. Tell me what you guys think! Arachnid Stalkings Killer: The Arachnid The 8 legged creatures scurried around the house, making webs and living their life. They always thought humans were their friends. Spiders helped them get rid of pesky bugs, and humans gave them a place to live. But one fateful day, in the Hargroves house, a newcomer came in. And when she saw the spider, she killed every single one. It was a massacre. The little spiders were scurring, but this time not loving their life. Only one spider survived. He was heartbroken. His family murdered in front of his eyes. He snuck out the house and made his way to a new home. A science lab. He lived his days here, ready to go when it was time. As he went through the lab, he stumbled upon a weird substance. A green fluid layed on a desk. The curios arachnid took a sip, and grew larger by the minute. This new found power would come in handy for his revenge. He made his way back to the house his family was massacred in and found the girl still living there. He jumped through the wall and brutally murdered her with no second thought. He looked down at his work in astonishment. Amazed at what he had done. When suddenly a black fog surrounded and took the spider. Arachnids power: Web Shooter: by pushing the power button, The Aracnid can shoot out webs on any surface or thing slowing down any survivor that touches it and making them swarmed. Swarmed is a new effect that happens when going through webs, surrounding survivors with baby spiders that make the survivor scream ever few seconds. The scream can be seen by the arachnid in a 16 meter radius. Buy opening cabinets and getting bug killer the survivor can spray themselves, getting rid of the spiders. The Arachnid has a total of 2 rechargeable webs it can shoot out at a time, but it can keep up those webs and shoot others. If the Arachnid is withing 8 meters of any other webs or hooked survivor after the web recharge had happened they can not shoot out any webs. Webs can be shot on floors, generators, windows, doorways, walls, pallets, and survivors. When a survivor goes through a web on the floor or wall they get slower for 3 seconds and are swarmed. When a survivor interacts with a webbed pallet, or window they get slower for 3 seconds but do not get swarmed. When a survivor interacts with a Webbed generator they get swarmed. They also get stuck on the generator, having to hit a skill check to get off. If a survivor interacts with a web while swarmed they scream and become exposed for 5 seconds, losing the swarm. You can only become exposed and lose the swarm this way in chase. When the arachnid shoots a survivor with their webs they get swarmed. A swarmed survivor can be shot with webs to be injured but lose the swarm this way. Secondary Power: Wall Climb: the arachnid can climb and jump to walls for a short period of time. When climbing up walls the arachnid becomes undetectable, only making a slight tapping noise from their limb hitting the wall. The Arachnid becomes detectable a second after coming off the wall. They arachnid can also jump onto and from walls, able to move quicker and faster. A maximum of 3 jumps can occur. Jumping at a survivor will knock them over if said survivor hits the arachnids legs or body. But if the Arachnid jumps at the survivor and hits them with their mouth, biting the survivor, the survivor gets injured. A miss attack causes the spider to go into a fatigue. Wall Climb had a 60 second cooldown. Arachnids Perks: Webbed: when a survivor comes within 6/8/10 meters from a generator the survivor gets the hindered staturs effect Sore Foot: when in chase and a survivor falls from a hight the stagger lasts for 1/2/3 seconds longer Hex: Swift Pursuit: when vaulting a window, for 3/5/7 seconds you run 3% faster
Hmm i personally dislike the playstyle of the artist. I expected more … or not more… something different… and the plague deserves more love in this comments. Plague u did amazing
Otz, I saw one of the artist matches live, and Knightlight was just camping and sending birds, and everyone was like "wooow he is really good" but there was nothing special in that gameplay. I don't understand. He hard tunelled at 4 gens, camped and everyone was saying he was sooo good
That was my first thought. Survivors were playing by the competitive rules of no full meta/repeat perks, no full medkits and that kind of stuff. Yet the killer seems to not follow any kind of rule about hard tunneling. We gotta give the man credit tho, the Chases and bird placement were on point
The fact that he was able to do that against a swf is very impressive.. you do that casually to a swf and you're getting no more than 1 kill maybe 2 if they really take risk by choice so yes that is impressive
artist is awful design, this video definitely shows why even high tier players working with communication that the game is not balanced around struggles to overcome someone with good knowledge of her kit
Something to note for the first game: the killer was allowed to bring some of the strongest addons, while survivors brought very weak items, while being on a very bad map, which was a heavy disadvatange. To make it more fair, survivors should be allowed to bring 1 or 2 purple items/addons, along with green/yellow items. Additionally, both teams should decide on a fair map to start with, since this match was done as a 'test' or showcase it only makes sense to use a balanced map for both killers.
I love this deep analystic video from you. I also enjoy to watch high level players a lot, though I don't really understand how the survs at the beginning didn't finish a gen in the first 3 minutes. I feel like with how the game has been balanced to favor killers so much, the survivor demo teams shouldn’t be restricted on perks any more, especially if the killer is allowed to freely camp/tunnel. Clearly, 4 OTR would’ve been perfectly fair against the artist.
This is in comp format, though I agree maybe slightly less restriction would definitely make things feel a bit less oppressive on the surv side of things.
Yeah with the perk rework they should ease the restrictions but it also shows how unbalanced the game is for survivors that they need/needed lots of restrictions just to be on an equal playing field
Otz showed matches where the killers won. In the first Artist match, the Artist got 0 kills and like 2 hooks. In the first 2 Plague matches, the Plague didn’t get any kills either. I respect people who can still have fun on higher levels of competitive games like this, usually when you've been playing a game for too long, you become calculative, like min-maxing and the game becomes a bunch of numbers. How long can I keep them away from gens? How much time will I need to get to point B coming from point A? Can they make that loop if I chase from this point? What's the shortest route I can take to save time? This is the reason why I quit playing Dota, I was starting to feel calculative, thinking about min-maxing and it's taking the fun away. I'm hoping this doesn't happen to me with DBD.
Lol that plague hard tunneling off the first hook >.> If that is what you consider a good player then idk i guess every single new killer is a pro player because that's the shit they do. Not saying that "tunnel bad" but damn not only are you hanging around the hook but also just tunneling off the hook. What a "pro"
The only people who complain about tunneling imo are just weak links and the killer is simply exploiting the weakness in the team to prevent that guy from doing a gen
I still think Artist is underrated simply due to how few people that are maining her. She is the killer that requires most strategy micro and macro combined in my opinion and without enough players sharing feedback I feel like she is far from her true potential.
I don’t really support camping and tunneling. I just see it as skillful play. True skill is winning without those cheap strategies… but sometimes it’s the only option which is unfortunate

Same people would get their ass handed to them trying to tunnel any team on this level. Dbd survivors are some of the most clueless people. The good survivors abuse locker saves then cry when they get tunneled. It's all fun and games when ur the one bullying
The Artist killer basically proxy camped the hook and heavily tunneled 1-2 survivors to get them out first. That's neither a respectable play, nor should it be endorsed as such. How on earth is that even a 'good' play? It's lazy and toxic AF. A 'good' killer doesn't need to tunnel/camp to win. Plague also tunneled Niina/Nancy - but that was more of a "wrong place at the wrong time". Artist straight up played like the most toxic killers out there. This playstyle shouldn't be applauded. Kudos to Hens - he played mnagnificently.

Hey Otz. My name is Andy. I was in your livestream earlier. With my mother passing yesterday and a hard few past weeks, I just want to thankyou. For just being there. Your soul is unlike any other. You make me feel like we are hanging out in every video. I wish nothing but the best for you Otz
Sorry to hear about it friend. Hugs.
This was so fun to watch. Seeing the Artist put the doubters in chat on silent with the second match (this match) was just so satisfying.
As a literal Artist Main I'm glad to see her getting the recognition she deserves I already knew how oppressive she could be months ago and its refreshing to see a cracked Artist goin crazy
Same as an artist main even though I’ve gotten better as killer and finally got to iri 1 playing her this is the high level artist I strive to be 😌
They need more outfits for her I’m tired of wearing the same 3 dresses 👗
What build do you recommend?
The two cutest killers
It's interesting how people constantly complain about camping and tunneling in this game yet when its all that happens in comp matches they think it's exciting gameplay
nobody says that cause nobody cares about "competitive" dbd lmao
@@mbsss which is why it's funny, people clearly only against camping and tunneling when it's done to them and they're not willing to admit it's a strategy and they always take it personally. When they watch this they think it's just high level gameplay and all of a sudden it's valid.
I highly doubt that Nea had fun and was excited...
Yes cause u tunel and camp with a plan, ur not just randomly tunneling and camping someone like most braindead killers in pubs
Otz if you can, and its not too difficult to arrange. I would love more commentary on games like this!
I am glad you waited this much with this version of the video
my problem withh the trickster comparisons was the time, people really need it to flesh out and learn everything about the killer, but this is done well.
If possible, would it be possible for you too test a Myers vs Ghostface video? It would be very interesting.
Would it though? Myers doesn't have a power, so Ghost Face is better every time (unless Myers runs Fragrant Tuft of Hair)
@@mythmage8231 Ghostface is stronger but I want to see how much of a skill gap there is between them when pro players use them
@@TheGeoBlade1 I mean, what skill gap ISN'T there? Myer's power is that he's a stat checker.

Absolutely love these series of videos. Thank you everyone for the effort involved to make them happen!
Would you like to do a high level Onryō vs a high level Dredge? They play very similarly, even if one is a bit better than the other :)
They play nothing alike, Sadako is a hit and run stealth killer and Dredge is more akin to Oni. It's very important to get to your powered up state (Nightfall) and spam it out as much.

As an adept artist player(still not nearly as good as knightlight) it’s amazing to see someone use the little things that can make her go from what looks like A tier straight to S tier.
I'd love to see this with Freddy and Sadako! They have similar playstyles teleporting around the map to apply gen pressure. :D
Thank you for still putting out videos during what must be a tough time for you. We love and appreciate ya ❤️
Top tier Artist: stand near a hooked person and spam birds at gens, rinse, repeat. Most shameless players I’ve come up against.
And tunnel the first person you hooked to get them out of the game as fast as possible, kinda sad
What else are you supposed to do exactly? He played it smart, not hard.
@Mr Pickles true survivors videos are boring and it take no skill lol
So happy to see another one of these comparison videos
That artist playing was next level amazing 👏
Always appreciate your videos, Otz. It's always a pleasure to see you upload mate.
As an artist main I’m very happy seeing this, finally some appreciation hahah
I love the series Top tier killer vs top tier killer. I rlly want to see maybe a top tier Wesker vs top tier nemesis or maybe a top tier dredge vs a top tier pinhead because the are killers for presure. BTW keep up the good work!!!
since artist came out ive been playing her just like this, alot of surivvors dont know how to play against her and alot ppl dont know how to play artist...she is very strong but also if u miss ur birds she can be punished harshly
Same. Actually makes me happy when survivors know how to counter some of her moves, like jumping into a locker to remove the birds.
The game is officially on!
actually a good feeling when you open youtube and see this up 10 seconds ago
I understand tunneling is part of the game and this video shows that it works properly if you’re pretending to finish them up. At the same time, it seems so annoying to keep chasing the same person constantly..
Iconic how dbd is so unbalanced since it was released, never* learned how to keep their* own game fun for both sides
You can't control how people play. You can put -10 disadvantages for tunnelling and camping and people will still do it
@@kanyumski because there is absolutely no control on survs having comms. That is the most effective exploit and no one takes offense when that happen s.
@@kanyumski I’m not saying about controlling, I’m saying about a better gameplay for both sides. If the game gives more opportunities but tunnel to win, I wouldn’t see so many killers doing the same “strategy” all over again
@@Yeki.az.ma1 its not that survivors shouldn't have comms, it's that solo q should be buffed to keep up with swf
@@makeouthill9427 That's what I mean tho, it really doesn't matter if you incentivize not tunnelling people will just do it regardless. Plus what would you do to make it better for both sides?
Gotta say Thank you for these videos, they give more attention to top tier players in the competitive scene of the game which is something they deserve while also showcasing some entertaining matches
I freaking love the artist, some find her boring, but she’s my favorite killer!
I recently been playing a ton of Artist and these matches came just in time for some strategies
The real Otz would understand the Artist's strategy.
Well, I main Artist and Plague.
I consider myself pretty strong with Vommy Mommy, and probably could have done it the same way put in these conditions (god I wish to try).
But that Artist game, now that’s just something insane. I’ve previously seen Knightlight do a Twins tournament game, and this guy is a Knightmare to those facing him.
Honestly the Artist is an insanely strong killer, sucks that not many people notice it.
Good . Don’t want anyone using my girl ❤
Use her with pain res and dead man’s switch
I love artist so much. I struggle with getting looped so she’s been a great help for me and I’m finally enjoying the game again wish I bought her sooner
Haha this introduction made me laugh out loud. I have thought about that before but to have you acknowledge it so nonchalantly gave be a strong chuckle. 😂 Never change being you, Otz!
KL's polish internet hits are really a sight to see! Great gameplay from both players!
Can someone explain the reasoning behind banning certain survivor perks?
This is meant to be highest level play, why not allow everything?
Especially when you give the killer their best map......
Cause the killer needs to win that's why idk lol
I think it's because the survs are on comms
Because good survivors are just better than killers. Thats not a soloq match.
because, good survivors without limited resources of any sort easily outdo killers, the famous bully squad is a good example of that in action and thats not even playing well, thats playing to not do gens half the time. but in high levels of play it becomes really hard for a killer to win if the survivors have all the resources they could possibly bring, especially if you allow boon of healing, free medkits. survivors are always full hp in that situation. not to mention how strong boon of healing is with actual medkits. and thats just one example. comms, high tier teamplay, versus, a single person, thats why pros limit survivor resources and let killers choose the map.
Love the showdown series would love to see more. good job otz 👍
i really wish this game was playable at high mmr without tunnelling survivors, gens just go by too quick and even if u tunnel a survivor out quickly could still be 3 man out just because matches are so short gen wise
It’s a shame but tunnelling is required a lot of the time
@@tanderson1480 yeah and this could be solved so easily just by having diffrent gen counts for diffrent killers. Like default 5 gens on nurse, blight and other strong killers and 6 or 7 gens for the weaker killers like clown, myres..

Arachnid Stalkings
Killer: The Arachnid
The 8 legged creatures scurried around the house, making webs and living their life.
Arachnids power:
Web Shooter: by pushing the power button, The Aracnid can shoot out webs on any surface or thing slowing down any survivor that touches it and making them swarmed.
Secondary Power:
Wall Climb: the arachnid can climb and jump to walls for a short period of time.
Arachnids Perks:
Webbed: when a survivor comes within 6/8/10 meters from a generator the survivor gets the hindered staturs effect
Sore Foot: when in chase and a survivor falls from a hight the stagger lasts for 1/2/3 seconds longer
Hex: Swift Pursuit: when vaulting a window, for 3/5/7 seconds you run 3% faster
I love The Artist and play her alot. I gotta tell you she is damn Strong! This Artist player was cruel! Love it!

Hmm i personally dislike the playstyle of the artist. I expected more … or not more… something different… and the plague deserves more love in this comments. Plague u did amazing
My 2 Favorit Killers to use. Im super exited to see that Video. Ty OZ
We gotta give the man credit tho, the Chases and bird placement were on point
it’s comp, if you don’t camp and tunnel you lose
The fact that he was able to do that against a swf is very impressive.. you do that casually to a swf and you're getting no more than 1 kill maybe 2 if they really take risk by choice so yes that is impressive
@@MattBiersackSanders agreed
@@girthquake33 but still. It was like, everything allowed to the killer and lots of things forbidden to the survs

Artist and plague are really well designed imo. They aren't the absolute best or most broken, but their kits offer good info and pressure.
artist is awful design, this video definitely shows why even high tier players working with communication that the game is not balanced around struggles to overcome someone with good knowledge of her kit

Yes, these matches were skewed.
This is in comp format, though I agree maybe slightly less restriction would definitely make things feel a bit less oppressive on the surv side of things.

@@linkinparkfanthatsdumb2576 it is a strategy, it only proves how sucks u are.
@@covertgaming1628 yes they are but saying top tier like they have this amazing one of kind strategy when its just the normal gameplay everyonde does lol
Personally, if I was the survivors, I would just survive 💯💪🔥
The skill ceiling for this character is nuts
Which one?
Lol that plague hard tunneling off the first hook >.> If that is what you consider a good player then idk i guess every single new killer is a pro player because that's the shit they do. Not saying that "tunnel bad" but damn not only are you hanging around the hook but also just tunneling off the hook. What a "pro"
Go do that against these 4 players. I bet you won't be even able to down the one you want to tunnel lol
good luck winning against a comp swf on comms rushing gens without tunneling. id be the first to watch that video
Tunneling is a valid strategy against a swf with comms
The only people who complain about tunneling imo are just weak links and the killer is simply exploiting the weakness in the team to prevent that guy from doing a gen
So glad to see this series again
I still think Artist is underrated simply due to how few people that are maining her. She is the killer that requires most strategy micro and macro combined in my opinion and without enough players sharing feedback I feel like she is far from her true potential.
she is A tier with a half decent build, people dont main her because playing against her is so boring that people tend to give up or DC
I’m glad to say I’m part of the three existing Plague main out here
I don’t really support camping and tunneling. I just see it as skillful play. True skill is winning without those cheap strategies… but sometimes it’s the only option which is unfortunate
13:50 This is why I don't play Plague. Notice how the puke doesn't damage Nancy even tho it touches her and at 13:52 same thing. Puke sometimes just doesn't work.
All the people complaining about the tunneling and camping and trying to discredit the players' skill and game sense have never watched a comp game lmao
Your opinion of a good killer would not win any tournament. I don't understand your point.
@@rahb2096 I'm talking about regular game-play. Regular game-play isn't a tournament. Imagine every killer-player camping and tunneling you. That's A) not fun B) not really a skill.
So tunneling and proxy camping makes you a top tier killer
It's a good strategy, not in every case but yes in tournaments it's a great strategy

@@linkinparkfanthatsdumb2576 it's what killers do in everyday games as well. At best it's annoying. It takes away the fun of the game. It's like bully squads for killers. I don't mind being killed, I just don't want to be bullied in the game by a killer who tunnels or camps.
I mean if you constrain no medkits and no boons, of course the Plague will feel a bit underwhelming compared to the Artist. Like a third or more of her appeal is that she makes medkits and boons useless through her power.

Monstrous Shrine is actually kinda underrated right now. It can catch a lot of survivors off guard and force them into misplays where people end up on second stage very quickly. Combine it with gift of pain or pain res and scourge hooks are suddenly giving huge value.
