Phew. Glad to finally have this monster finished. Despite being an absolute joy to work on it (when it was working) it seemed to be somewhat cursed by the gods from the beginning. From losing 20,000 words of narration to the many other errors and issues along the way finally culminating in having to pull out from the sponsorship at the last minute, here it is nonetheless. I’m not entirely happy with many aspects of the project, particularly the audio, but to change things at this point would lead to full on madness. So here it is, as finished as it can be by just one person with very meagre computer skills. Something is better than nothing I suppose. Now in the immortal (paraphrased) words of the great Tolkien upon finishing LOTR - I can finally move on to other things. Thank you friends for all the patience and well wishes. I hope you enjoy diving into Mycenaean Greece as much as I did. One of the greatest of all historical eras. Thank you all and I hope to see you on the next one. Now... back to work.. All the best - Pete.
6 hours?!!! Man deserves a vacation after this, probably an award too. To make a 6 hour video this educational and of such high quality, not to mention that it’s free to view? What an ABSOLUTE LEGEND
@@HistoryTime From a fellow crafter of projects who has to put blinders on to Finish This One First, Then You Can Do The Other Thing, I totally understand and it's absolutely diabolical. Hands down one of the best history channels on TH-cam - so much information and wonderful storytelling that brings the past to life. Thanks for making these!
This documentary contains more information about Bronze Age Greece than the rest of TH-cam combined. It's very long, nobody can deny, but watching it (or listening to it) is a breeze and you simply lose track of time. Pete Kelly is a master storyteller.
That was exquisitely well constructed and narrated, somewhat reminiscent of the type of documentaries the BBC embarked upon in the '80s, '90s, and early 2000s.
Oh fantastic. Another extended video from the wonderful Pete Kelly. I was looking forward to your next posting. Please have a comment for the algorithm gods. I'll be enjoying this episode for a while into the near future. Thank you so much for the wonderful work that you do.
Absolutely incredible job. I've been to Greece many many times and I've always been so fascinated by it, everything starting from the days of Achilles and Agamemnon up until the fall of the classical age. You deserve much respect and praise for this wonderful documentary you put together. Bravo
As a high school level educated person i find this all fascinating. Much easier to watch than many similar channels. Love your work mate. Your commentary, camera work editing & all the other stuff we don't see is top rate. Great job.
Thank you, Pete! I've been looking forward to this video for weeks. I'll have to watch it 3-40 more times to fully absorb it all. Absolutely love your content!
Halfway through and this is one of the best documentaries about the bronze age I ever seen! I dont know if you covered Cyprus, but please do so in future videos. The history of Alasiyia and the migration of Mycenaeans to Cyprus founding cities-states it’s something worth discussing! I am willing to host you in Idalion if you are interested some time in the future!
I have come across your video today , watched an hour of it , and I will watch one hour per day , I also subscribed to your channel, loved wanax videos too and I am glad you are collaborating. The voice , the detail , the photography of the video is superb mate! You should get an award! ❤ Well done! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and research! Don't stop! You are a legend! The first video I watched of yours I believe was after Rome left Britain and you said it took 2 and a half years to make the 2 and a half hr video, had all the respect for you then. Your videos are magnificent and appreciate the hard work you put into them!
Perfect timing. I woke up this morning wondering how I was going to fill the day. Aha! A 6 1/2 hour video from HT! Just the thing. And very good it was too.
Nothing so pleasing as a new episode of History Time, Pete, you bring me to tears! I’ll prob watch this a half dozen times, the first just to drink in the images, the second to concentrate on words to what I’m seeing, eventually I’ll put it all together! How wonderful! ❤️😘
Fantastic job!!! as someone who loves history and has always loved, especially Greek history, this was absolutely head over heels, one of the best if you wanna call the historical documentaries that I’ve ever watched. 😊👏👏👏
CONGRATULATIONS PETE ! I love your channel and this six hour epic is a treasure. I'm only at the 20 minute mark but am thrilled to know I've got hours ahead of fascinating and beautiful history tales. WELL DONE

I managed to catch an hour and a half of the premiere, but holy cow over 6 hours! Can't wait to watch this 42 times in order to remember every part! Definitely worth the slight extra wait time, not that you ever disappoint.
Thank you for all the hard work! This was amazing. Also thank you for ending with the survivors and their connections to the classical world, they are often forgotten.
I've just begun watching this 6 hr. video I've no doubt as to it's quality. Even though you point out audio issues I would still listen or even read the entire manuscrit knowing as a subscriber of 4 years your work ethic and standard of every thing you produce. Thank you for all of your hard work.
I have been waiting all weekend to even START watching this. After grading DBQs, Im rewarding myself while folding laundry. Thank you for the escape to the culture that started my live for archaeology in grade 6.
Just wanna say that I really appreciate all the location shots you do. Your videos are very listenable, but it's great to have that footage when I do put them on the big telly. Doing location shooting takes time and money, and I appreciate it. I look forward to going through this in the coming week or so. Thank you!

The day before this came out I said to my partner “we need a new history time, what’s Pete been up to this winter I wonder?” And then he drops a 6.5 hour epic like this 😂❤ Thank you!
I’ve only been following your videos for the past year or so, but the amount of knowledge I’ve gained from doing so has inspired me to do my own research. Thank you Pete for all you do, I’m excited to see what else may lie ahead
This video is a triumph! You've taken such effort and care to video these historical locations, and you are so careful to clearly label and explain all names of characters and locations. Aside from the impressive historical focus, this is surely a very fine visual tour of so much of Greece. It's just mesmerising! I trust your disappointments and frustrations with this project will melt away as you come to realise this epic "child" of yours is one of the great heroes of TH-cam. Bravo! And best wishes from Aotearoa New Zealand...
Truly wonderful. Excellent photography combined with 6hrs of knowledge, probably not found in any other videos, certainly not in a continuous tour of the bronze age greek world
My man, you’re doing something amazing! Honestly, you’re covering almost every major civilization one by one! Brother, you are doing it so we don’t have to! TH-cam wouldn’t be the same without you!
My respect to your great effort! In an era of "keep it short and simple" (and therefore lacking and shallow), you Sir swim against the current and we thank you and salute you!

amazing documentary ! Big Thanks from Greece!!
Humanity needed this video right now, and we thank you endlessly.

The idea is you can easily watch in parts by using the time stamps. 26 easily digestible chunks. You generally wouldn’t read a book in one sitting.
@ Unless it's a Malazan book...

Tiryns is fascinating as one of the few urban centres that remained inhabited continuously from the 2nd millennium BC well into the classical age.
Bronze Age Greece and History Time, two of my favorite things in the world?!
