Its been a month or more since this filmed: UPDATE! Namokies sent me a NEW CROWN TITANIUM that works. There was a known issue with the first batch. So now everything works perfectly. Bezel on it is original SKX007 bezel. Hope you all enjoy this pointless video lol

I have the same case and I thought I was crazy when my crown was doing the same thing. I hadn’t thought about it being a defect.

I’ve got the same case/bezel. I’m going for OEM ‘enhanced’, a Prospex version SKX if you will. The coin edged bezel works in that regard, slightly finer in looks and ties in with the 62mas design heritage. I wouldn’t change it for SS stock, especially on the titanium case. Seiko would never do it that way. Another option would be to buy a SS case for your next build, install a stock bezel and build it from there.

I bought one of the last of the 2019 007J models last year, and modded it with a combination of OEM and aftermarket parts to look as the original. Original case and case back, Branded 4R36 movement, un-signed crown from Crystal Times, original dial, hour and minute hands (the reverse of which I painted white to make the lume a bit brighter), OEM MM300 second hand, OEM Kanji day wheel, original bezel, lumed chapter ring and sapphire bezel insert from LCBI, beveled sapphire crystal with clear AR from DLW (their crystals are slightly thicker than stock, to work with thicker bezel inserts, creating less of a step). To finish it off, I use either the Super J or Super O bracelet from Strapcode, and that excellent OEM MM300 ratcheting clasp. All in, including the price of the watch, came to $749 USD.

  • @andrew-zs2nx

Don't pop the bezel in the middle of the case. There is a little curb in the middle that easily dents especially using that case opener.
Here is a safer tip for taking off bezels.
    1. Buy a plastic flathead sticks on amazon. (THE BEST ALTERNATIVE TO CASE OPENERS and is cheap and no risk for scratching your case!)
Like every other video of modding, STOP USING CASE OPENERS! it will scratch no matter what even with taping it.
    2. Pry it above the lugs since it is flat and not curbed like in the middle of the case
    Happy modding =)
