This is the most in tune I've ever heard a Phantom hornline. That's saying a lot I know but it's true. They sound incredible yes, but it's the balance throughout all voices in the tuning especially at louder volumes that's most impressive. Nothing but bright days ahead with JD Shaw back .
I'll second another commentor: Love the outro. This years brass line was good. Pretty ticky around the details, but overall solid. And who am I kidding, if I'm standing in front of them during this, I'm not super concerned about messy attacks, I'm loving every second of this.
I know on all the recordings Ive seen of them on the field I felt like I had to turn the volume down, this confirms it. They were strong like bull. Just gotta get the clarity and little things cleaner and they'll be back to at least mid pack or top 5 where they belong.
The source composition is Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel. Phantom regiment used it in their repertoire for their 2003 and 2021 shows. The tag is from their 2007 show, so it’s a mix of the two
