My eldest boar has one of these that popped. I squeezed lots of that stuff out, but not as you did by reaching behind. I also didnt flush it. He is already on antobiotics for a tooth issue and I am putting neosporin on thr cyst hole to help ward off infection. Im thinking now why it hasnt healed up and atopped making this white mush is I didnt flush it as you did. The vet told me that stuff is essentially sterile and itndoesnt matter if its trapped under the skin. I dont care either way as long as I can provide him comfort and solve this issue.

If the guinea pig is behaving normally, eating well, there's no reason to remove the cyst as it's painless, it always grows outside, it will never disturb internal organs so I don't see the reason to do that at all and cause the guinea pig unnecessary pain/distress
The contents of a sebaceous cyst it's not pus unless it was possibly an inflamed cyst. Lyn did you say that the contents of that sebaceous cyst was pus that had dried up and turned into that white contents? If you said it was pus then I'm really confused. Been a RN for over 30 years.

Lots of skin cells and oils. Not pus though, so hopefully it heals up quickly and easily.
