Cougar is a pretty amazing brand, giving a budget price on a lot of their peripherals. Their Cougar Arena is pretty cheap (only around 18 bucks) and its an extended pad but waterproof and high quality (comparable to Zowie GS-R) and then their mice Revenger S have an amazing sensor but not so great shape tbh. And now their headsets are trying to go in as well.
I know this is off topic, so sorry if this annoys you, but when you said the word 'Amp' it made me wonder what if you use the Skullcandy Crusher Wireless on full bass, then use an amplifier on full bass, what will be like? Would be too muddy and cause you to become deaf, or would it just vibrate the Crusher's vibrator over the clock that it would bust or fry itself? P.S Amazing video, your reviews are astonishing.

Just wanted to share a short story Been using the $37 turtle beach recon 50p for about 2 years. They broke a short while ago, so I was forced to use the ps4 crappy earpiece for a couple of days. I decided to upgrade and look for a headset for about $100. After watching a lot of reviews, I decided to buy the Sennheiser Gsp 300 for $99 without trying them because I was overwhelmed by all the positive reviews. Recieved them, hooked them up, started a chat party on ps4, and my best friend who I've been gaming with EVERYDAY for years, thought I was still using the standard ps4 earpiece............I SHIT YOU NOT. He said that I sounded better when I was using the $37 turtle beach. I used the sennheiser headset for a day. Dont get me wrong, they are great and comfortable. But I honestly thought the sound was better with the turtle beach and that the bass was weaker with the sennheisers. I was happy but I would have been just as happy with the $37 turtle beach. I got a refund and bought the $37 turtle beach headset, without telling my friend that, I invited him to a chat AND HE IMMEDIATELY SAID that I sounded clearer and better. Again......the sennheiser gsp300 is great but I didn't feel like I was wearing an upgraded headset.
I love reviews for these because everyone flips out about how thick and comfortable the standard pads are like headphone owners haven't been buying replacement memory foam pads forever now. Treat yaself.
I compared them side by side and although this isn't a direct yes or no answer here it goes.....on PC I would say the Phontum sounds better (especially amped). On console I also like the Phontum slightly better because they have more openness in their sound. with music on your phone I would go with the Core. either way, both are great headsets
honestly they are really close in terms of sound quality. probably because they both have dual chambers and large drivers. i would say the treble is slightly brighter in the Alphas and the bass may be slightly tighter too. but it's close

The Cloud Flight would be my favorite wireless headset. honestly the Razer Thresher Ultimate is no slouch either. It is very hard to beat the HyperX Cloud Alpha as the best overall sounding headset

Can you tell me how loud these get without the use of the added extension cable using the PS4 controller? It's a shame they put the volume controls on the secondary cable. I wish they would have put some thought in the fact that if you're a console gamer, who on earth wants that much cable resting in their lap?? If the controls were on the main cable, it wouldn't be so much bulk. Anyways, do they get fairly loud on their own without the volume wheel?

their sound signatures are very close. I think the Alphas are a tiny bit cleaner and has just a little more punch in the bass department. both are great

Ok so I have the turtle beach stealth 600 and I’ve seen the cloud alphas and I want to buy it, but do you think the upgrade would be worth 100 dollars I have also heard that the cloud alphas hurt your ears after 30 minutes or so, is that true
Its actually insane. Went to try Sony X4 and they don't even come close to those in terms of sound quality and yes even bass, despite Sony being famous for its bass oriented headphones. Don't get me wrong the sonys have bass but it's ruff and anoying, doesn't hit well with me. And yes I'm comparing wired to wireless and Yes you pay for anc on the Sonys but still I'm so disappointed. Also the fucking build quality. Almost every flagship or not bluetooth headset feels so fucking cheap, light and breakable. While these feel heavy and solid and they are insanely comfortable. There no sweating, not fatigue from wearing and the only problem which they share with almost all headphones in general is the scratching of the rubber coating on the earpads after getting them wet. Also while these aren't waterproof they won't have any problems in medium to heavy rain. Trust me I've had them for three years and the only reason I'm swapping to wireless is because I broke my aux jack. And have to change phones if I want to go wired again. But that's about it. Maybe I'm just used to them so much I'm looking for the same headphones just wireless and that makes me biased. Now I'm gonna give the Sony 900N a chance just cause they are meant for bass heads and are not that expensive so If I break them cause of their shit quality I won't cry. That being said not many are even near this model of Cougar and the price diff. is just insane.

Cougar Phontum S hawe nicely mic than standard Phontum. Also Cougar Phontum and S version having 53mm graphene drivers and wider sound space. I have standard Phontum. Its ok Mic, noise isolated. But voice som lower than Your real voice. Teammates hear Me correct and enough on Discord. On the other hand, great for music. I use Audioquest Dragonfly 1.5 DAC and It Good enough for PC. But Corsair HS50 = Paid for Better mic for Vocal and high notes and details in voice. Now i think about buying a Corsair for Public or another non gaming Use and second Headset. Anyway HS50& Phontum/Phontum S way Better than HyperX Cloud Alpha, Core and Revolver, If you think about buying a DAC for Pitch and Up loudness and details. Your PC/laptop or Console dont be a weak horse with Corsair & Cougar. But for hardcore's only music experience exists more better cans.
Honestly it is hard to top the SHP9500 with a Boom Pro mic........but, if you plan on using them on a console I would say the Alpha would be my first choice but followed closely by the Phontum's. The only reason I wouldn't pick the Philips first for consoles is simply because the volume level is not the loudest out of the three. basically I am still saying you can't go wrong with any of them
The Phontum is really good and for $50 is a complete steal. The Alpha is slightly better and will likely last you longer considering their reputation. Plus, the Alphas are great on the go headphones too

these don't have as much bass since they are not being amplified within the headphones like the Monster's are. now, these plugged into an amp blows the Monster Elements out of the water
Hey man i trusted you and bought these headphones but the sound is absolutely horrible. And not by 50$ standards because the hyperx stinger are way better sounding. Of course i didn't expect top quality but the sound is plastic-y and boxy. There's a huge spike in the mid-highs (just before the good treble) that makes a lot of music genres unlistenable. And the good treble (12k and up) is almost completely filtered. So I'd describe the sound as most 10$ chinese headphones: Muffled, Cheap and Plastic-y.

Hey man i trusted you and bought these headphones but the sound is absolutely horrible. And not by 50$ standards because the hyperx stinger are way better sounding. Of course i didn't expect top quality but the sound is plastic-y and boxy. There's a huge spike in the mid-highs (just before the good treble) that makes a lot of music genres unlistenable. And the good treble (12k and up) is almost completely filtered. So I'd describe the sound as most 10$ chinese headphones: Muffled, Cheap and Plastic-y.
