I just added a wave maker in both of my planted 75 gallons. I’m hoping it helps with my algae problems. Love your rainbows! One of my tanks is full of different rainbows!
I recently added a wave maker and positioned it just above my CO2 outlet. I am now on a third of the original CO2 settings and plants are doing much better.
Crypts are bog plants just like your Swords. Bog plants typically have two different types of leaves for growing emersed or immersed. Plant growers often grow them emersed because they grow faster and then when you plant them they have to switch to immersed leaves which are visibly less rigid. I buy from small shops who grow them underwater and they don't melt.
I might try one of those. I have a 4ft tank, 350 litres but have two Eheim 2217 canisters at either end and the spray bar flow meets in the middle of the tank, goes down to the bottom then random around. The flow is good near the surface and in the middle but at either end lower down, not so good. I have shrmp though so a powerhead would need to be shrimp safe.
At around @8:50 for a few minutes, the Panda Corydoras seem to like swimming in the upper part of the tank in the waves - whereas they're known to be bottom dwellers. Is that what you observe?
I love your tank! Really nice 🌿🌿🐟 I find your voice very soothing to listen to as you describe your tank. What substrate do you use in this? I like the color of it too. 🙂🌿🐟
Thanks so much 😁 it’s just standard substrate from pets at home, like a sand/fine black gravel. I have links in the description to similar substrate you can get from amazon
@@KieransFish ok, ill try the link. I tried to get the auto doser through your link but they didnt ship to the US. Anyways, I love your content! I saw your videos way back when your tank broke and just ran back across them last night. Happy fishkeeping!🌿🐟
Hello, may I ask what is on the top of tank around is it black tape ? general electrical tape or special for aqua tank purpose ? can you please advise ? I like it how it looks, clean, simple frame around... thanks
Thanks! I’m not sure, this wave maker is very strong so I can get increased surface agitation and also a lot of water flow by pointing it up. I think if it points up and moves the surface it’s also helping with water flow throughout the tank.
I swear those wave makers make the surface look like moving water from a river. Very nice to watch
Yeah they do if you point them up
Tank is stunning, I like the natural look. The rainbows will love the added flow.
Thanks! Yeah I think so
What a beautiful tank!
Thank you!

Very nice 😁
Tank looks great. Love your flow
Thanks 😄
Val flowing in the current = Automatic thumbs up👍
Haha thanks 😆 I do like the vallis

Nice!
run it through a powerhead and that gives great results as the impeller chops up the bubbles and they enter the water column more effeciently.

Wow I have one I wanna.try it in freshwater lol
Very interesting, a lot of people said it is bad for plants because it removes to much of co2 that the plants need.
Don’t point it up and it won’t take too much of the co2 out
Very good aquarium. beautiful fish. Good like.
Thank you
I have 5 fit 500 ltr planted tank please suggest which watt I use wave maker
Probably two of the one I have in the video

I don’t know how you would make it shrimp safe, but I do have a bamboo shrimp that likes to sit on it. They are a great wave maker though
Just purchased one my first worry is how the fish going to eat? The food seems to flow down quickly. I have neon tetras so I just hope they eat.
Feeding from the water column is better than feeding from the surface
Feeding from the water column is better than feeding from the surface
What your capacity of your wave maker??
I think like 3200LPH
Beautiful rainbows! Great info! You still like the hydro wave maker?
Thank you! I use a different one now where the power turns right down at night time
GOOD🐠😊🤗
癒しの水槽ですね。
Thanks!

Yeah they chase each other all around the tank when they are mating. They also swim to the top to breath oxygen from the air
i use surface skimmer pump as a water flow, some people said a lot of water ripple can make you loss a lot CO², is it true ??
What is the grass plant? I have some but got it from a friend and wanting to buy more!
The tall plants are valisinaria

It’s the amazon uk website that’s probably why. Thanks a lot 😊
@@KieransFish Hello, do you use root fertilizer? Wich one?
A question.. Is wave maker will remove surface oil?
You need a surface skimmer
It will help yeah

Hello, it came with the tank, I took it off after a while. I like the look of all glass
Oh but yeah it’s just some sort of tape
Awesome aquarium! But I have a question:
Is the wavemaker supposed to be angled up towards the water surface or horizontal?
Thanks! I’m not sure, this wave maker is very strong so I can get increased surface agitation and also a lot of water flow by pointing it up. I think if it points up and moves the surface it’s also helping with water flow throughout the tank.
Are those Siamese Catfish in with the Rainbows?
Yeah they are Siamese algae eaters
@@KieransFish thank you.. great looking tank!
Thanks!
Is it safe for hairgrass carpet?
You could try it yeah
It gives oxygen to.fish
Yes it does, and it’s a great backup if your filter goes and the water becomes low on oxygen. This will keep the oxygen levels up.
Is it soil or sand?
Just sand
What is the longer grass like plant in the background of the tank. I love the flow they give
It’s valis not sure what species but the big kind! Giant or jungle Val maybe
Does it give it those wave lines at the bottom of the tank?
I’m not sure. I have mine pointing upwards.
@@KieransFish you know what i mean in a saltwater tank its got those wavy lines from the lights aboves does this do that
Oh I know what you mean, no I don’t think so, I think you need specific lights for that I’m not sure
Crypts will melt no matter what Leave them in they recover
Would these wave makers cause problems to small fishes? Like neon tetras and such?
They could do but I think it’s unlikely, I think you would be fine
@@KieransFish I went ahead and got one, timed with my light, everyone likes the added flow actually, even the little neon tetras
💯👍👍
How do you keep your substrate so clean!!!
I think because it’s sand, everything gets blown off it haha, I don’t gravel vac.
Roof/Roof Less tank ?
Nah it has a plastic lid
Rainbow are safe in roof less tank
I wouldn’t risk it, especially with rainbows they take years to get full size
@@KieransFish thanks
