- A mother of four was fatally shot in front of her children while standing at a neighbor's door. Law enforcement is saying that the shooting started with a neighborhood feud. NBC's Steven Romo reports.

This 58 yr old is a EVIL killer. She had been waiting to do something like this. She need to be locked up and throw away the key! This is so wrong on so many different levels.
I agree. She definitely put some thought into this which is categorized under premeditation. There were so many other ways to handle this. I hope this family gets the justice they deserve🙏💔

This story has completely shocked us here in Sweden. I can’t imagine the pain those kids are going through. Have we lost all sense of humanity, of decency. How is the law being interpreted? No charges filed? Prayers for those beautiful children and the family 😢
Honestly what has been going on in the US with African Americans being shot & killed by white people & the cops turning a blind eye is beyond disgusting! They finally charged this murderer but it doesn't erase a young boy seeing his mom murdered in front of him! I'm beyond ashamed of my country for not doing more to protect innocent adults & children from gun violence! Actually, she can. The law very clearly states in fear of your life or forceable entry, meaning someone was trying to come in. So, if the black woman was banging on the door, or turning the door handle, then she can be shot by the home owner. Considering all of the times she has called the police on that woman, coupled with the age difference (Elderly), she will never be convicted by a jury. The best they can hope for is plea bargain, but I doubt it will ever go that far. And yes, you can shoot through a door to stop “forceable entry” - so learn the law before your lack of emotional maturity costs you your life.

Once she retreated behind her door the stand-your-ground law does not cover you seeing as you were secure behind your lock door, had she gained entry the law would have been on her side.
What the police officer said makes no sense. Being arrested doesn't mean you are guilty. How does anyone get arrested in Florida for killing someone with his logic? I'm sure most killers think they had no choice.

sadly, this is what is wrong with society today...the 60's were so much better. I grew up in a col de sac, 8 homes 22 kids, I know I grew up with 8 set of parents, it was awesome. Fortunately my kids grew up in a very small town were everybody knew everybody it was great.

The woman threw objects at the children and then took the ipad that belonged to the child? That seems like it was all intentional knowing the mother would come to get the ipad. There was no threats made to this lady who shot someone unarmed from inside threw a metal door. In this case the force used is not proportional to the threat perceived.

Was the killers behavior reasonable prior to the woman arriving at her door? I suspect not, the decision to use deadly force was made before the mother arrived at the door.
I suspect this killer's mind was made up too! It is happening all over the place, but they do not want you to know the degree to which it is happening.
Going forward that child will need mental and emotional support for what he’s witnessed.

It's the guns and ridiculously lax gun availability with no training requirements. Easy to envision this type of situation anywhere in the world, but in most places you'd get a hair-pulling fight, not a shooting thru a door. The gun availability is what differentiates the U.S.

Black woman should have stayed her butt in her own house, and called the police, and had the white woman charged with child abuse and other charges, instead of trying to confront someone. That's why we all pay for policing to begin with. I understand the black woman wanted to confront the white woman and find out why that white woman hit her kid with a skate (or so i read in the news) but she should have called the police, instead of trespassing on someone else's property looking for trouble, and all this could have been avoided. I can't see this going to the shooters favor. A old man shot a young kid without knowingly who are why they were at there door and was charged. The same should happen to this shooter possibly even arrested since her victim did die.

Unfortunately, some of the legislators in the US (particularly states like Florida) are not interested in diversity, integration, or equity because they don't choose to face the truth of slavery, racism, and discrimination. @@kimberlyross6688 All laws must abide by and reflect the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi. New and replacement street signs are now written with dual language Te Reo and English. I'm 61 now but when I went to primary school (5-10 yrs old), teachers were told to dismiss Māori history and only teach selected legend and myth. That doesn't happen anymore and neither does strapping on caning Māori who spoke Te Reo at school when my parents went to school. The inclusion of all people is and will continue to be an ongoing process. One of the main differences between NZ and US is that we are both matriarchal and patriarchal. There is no way our women would put up with the nonsense happening in the US.

Some people in this country still haven't come to terms with the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow segregation. We are experiencing a 3rd reconstruction -- a backlash in voting rights and other civil rights that people don't want to own up to. Some of these folks want a race war even in the comments on this YT post people are spouting their racist nonsense. Well, the fight continues for POC in the nation. My ancestors were forced here in the 1600s, endured enslavement, segregation, and escaped lynch parties. I reckon we'll outlast the racist rabble when it's all said and done.
