Their thing is flowers, their fandom is called ZEROSE, coming from "ZERObaseone" and "ROSES". Their title song was "In Bloom" which has flowers as a characteristic too. Some people didn't like Crush because it "sounded like noise music" but even if that wasn't liked the rest of the b-sides of the album were amazing. Definitely recommend you check out the rest of their short discography, and if you want more then check out their Jelly Pop and Hot Summer stages, which is more boy group coded. If you want more of their vocals than their K99 99-second chart performances (there are two) and their K-Star Next Door Performances (there are also two) should be watched. I think one of the best things this group has going for them is the variety of tones the members have, like Hao was a very grounded and technically skilled voiced, Jiwoong is a baritone who's voice is very rich, Taerae is extremely talented at high notes, Hanbin has a breathy, warm tone, Matthew's voice is very much pop, Ricky's is high and has incredible falsetto, Gunwook has a very distinguishable deep and almost Western quality to his voice, Yujin has a very wide sound and Gyuvin's voice is very soft. One of the main reasons this group in particular has such a strong vocal line is that there was a pretty heavy focus on vocals and specifically live vocal ability in the survival show that formed the group. Over the course of the show, Hao, Taerae, Hanbin, and Matthew all had stages where they were the main vocal, almost half the group. As for the others, Ricky got a lot of rap positions but it's not clear if that's the direction he wanted to go for because he's been getting more confident with vocal stuff after the show (he's the blonde one with the really nice sort of low breathy warm voice that works best when you know where to use it), Jiwoong came on the show as a vocalist but ended up in rap position nearly every round and just went with it bc he's like that, Gunwook is an All Rounder™ he's a brilliant dancer vocalist and rapper and he got to showcase all three at different points, though I think rap and dance mostly, and Gyuvin/Yujin both had a more heavy focus on dance throughout. Honestly it'd probably be pretty fun to react to some of the big Boys Planet stages with these guys, I'd recommend definitely Hot Summer & Jelly Pop (the two finale songs), as well as the artist battle songs (Over Me, Say My Name, and En Garde have the most debut members, Switch only has Taerae, but Supercharger is a banger that will not be forgotten) Aside from those we have such bangers as Love Killa with Matthew, Jiwoong, and Gyuvin, Man In Love Taerae (my beloved), Hao, Gunwook, Hanbin, And Hui from Pentagon covering Tomboy by (G)-Idle (fr), both Back Door covers with debut members, and the absolutely insane G group Kill This Love stage

Considering that both of their albums beat sales records, the budget for their MV is no joke. Youth in Shade (1st) had over 1.82M and Melting Point (2nd) had over 2.13M albums sold in the first week of release. That puts them on par with 3rd and 4th gen industry giants. 1:46 and 10:18 that's JiWoong the oldest member. Before joining the group he was and still is a popular actor and acted in several shows. In 2 of them he was acting a gay role and he did so well. He was in 2 other groups (short term) before however he and the members were heavily mistreated, and at one company, there was incidences of sexual harassment. So I am so glad he got past that point in life and is now leading a successful idol life in ZeroBaseOne.

Well normally, most of the fans recognised Taerae and Hao as main vocal. Hanbin(high note in In Bloom & Melting Point) is also very good. you can see that he often do the high note and chorus (he's leader and main dancer btw) All 9 members can sing as their song is mostly vocal. Although zb1 didn't have many rap, Gunwook is a very talent rapper (the one who lead the 2nd chorus in school uniform). Jiwoong and Gyuvin is great and often rap in their song as well. ZB1 didn't have official position in their official profile or something like that.

vocal focused boy groups are pretty rare these days for 4th and 5th gen which is probably why it took you so off guard that they're all such good singers! but Boy's Planet (the survival show they were formed on) was really focusing on vocal performances so i think Mnet purposefully wanted a vocal group, which was smart tbh. if you want more recs for vocal heavy boy groups, i'd definitely toss SHINee and EXO out there as being THE best vocals in kpop. all SM groups are really insane vocally. :)

thanks for reacting to zb1! they were formed by the mnet survival program boys planet (similar to the shows that formed i.o.i, wanna one, iz*one, and kep1er) and their first album sold like 2 million copies so yeah the budget went up significantly for their 2nd mv lol. they're great and i'm really enjoying their music so far!
edit: for more content, if you like variety show stuff, they had a pre-debut show called camp zerobaseone and currently have a weekly show called zbtv on their own channel, but they've also been on all the regular variety shows (weekly idol, knowing bros, etc.). if you like more music-focused content, zhang hao was on leemujin service, taerae was on golden girls live and king of masked singer, and hao, taerae, and gunwook were recently on starry room (idk what the show is called in english, that's the korean title but it will show up in search). the good news is because they were so popular right out of the gate, there's no shortage of content out there already!
edit again: sorry to edit this post like 3 times lmao. if you're a girl group stan who wants to get into boy groups, i always recommend astro. because of what happened earlier this year, it might be kind of difficult to get into them right now, but their music is lovely. in fact, i originally got into zb1 because their debut song reminded me a lot of astro's discography. you might even enjoy just checking out more 2nd/3rd gen stuff in general! those were more vocal-heavy eras imo.
Zb1 themselves LOVEE girl groups and know so many of the dances and songs. I feel like that really reflects in their artistry as well !
Personally I like the girl groups better so I'm pickier with boy groups but ZB1 are the exception :") they're so lovely actually

1:46 and 10:18 that's JiWoong the oldest member. Before joining the group he was and still is a popular actor and acted in several shows. In 2 of them he was acting a gay role and he did so well. He was in 2 other groups (short term) before however he and the members were heavily mistreated, and at one company, there was incidences of sexual harassment. So I am so glad he got past that point in life and is now leading a successful idol life in ZeroBaseOne.

Well normally, most of the fans recognised Taerae and Hao as main vocal. Hanbin(high note in In Bloom & Melting Point) is also very good. you can see that he often do the high note and chorus (he's leader and main dancer btw)
All 9 members can sing as their song is mostly vocal.
Although zb1 didn't have many rap, Gunwook is a very talent rapper (the one who lead the 2nd chorus in school uniform). Jiwoong and Gyuvin is great and often rap in their song as well.

vocal focused boy groups are pretty rare these days for 4th and 5th gen which is probably why it took you so off guard that they're all such good singers! but Boy's Planet (the survival show they were formed on) was really focusing on vocal performances so i think Mnet purposefully wanted a vocal group, which was smart tbh. if you want more recs for vocal heavy boy groups, i'd definitely toss SHINee and EXO out there as being THE best vocals in kpop. all SM groups are really insane vocally. :)
They are literally the most talented group even they debuted just-
most of them has potential to be main vocals but the two main vocals are taerae and zhanghao. They have reminded me of exo with their vocals they are the vocal kings of 5th gen in my opinion. You should check their mama performance especially Zhanghao violin performance it will give you goosebumps
