Uktena is a dragon, a wurm dragon. So exciting. I am currently working on an art project centered on this legend. Thank you

I am enrolled Cherokee Nation originally from OK but have lived inthe Pacific NW Cascade rainforest mounrains for the past forty years. I have felt the Uktena spirit here many times in the mts, especially in a certain lake which is a kind of portal I think. Some elders used to say that the old Cherokee spirits remained behind when we left our homeland in the east. Others said that wherever there are Cherokee people the old spirits would come if called. I believe these ancient spirits can walk through into this world through those of us who carry the ancestral DNA>

@resthunder7530 hi I unusual don’t come out and talk about any metaphysical presences or experiences but I believe I had a very profound experience many months ago in brevard nc Cathy’s creek area… I was having a mushroom trip with some close people of mine and I had decided to pull off from my drive on too Cathy’s creek to avoid being pulled over or on the open roads we had gotten a ways back into the woods and I decided I needed to take a leak in witch My girlfriend told me I should stay in the car. As I had gotten back this is when it all began… she said we should go that we where not safe and as I looked down at my stealing wheel there was this orange and yellow snake with very beautiful detailing and black outlining it was glimmering as was mesmerizing and I had asked her if she was seeing this I and she said yes it looks as if it’s coiling up and then I said yes yes I think it is and it’s burst leaving us both to ramp up and and start driving out. As i was driving in awe of what was happening I saw a vision of my father and grandfather in the top left of my vision of witch I tapped into… it was my grandfather I could feel his deepest feeling of being a very powerful feeling and then I was given a message that will is what would make him happy and that I would need a will to be a man and go on in life very profound it wasn’t until 2 months later I was looking into Cherokee folklore after my grandfather had found a carving of a man’s face and a bird stone on our property and I am curious to see if anyone has had any similar experiences in wnc or in the area

Also remembered saying it was a dragon because of its head this was not a snake very small in size but this was just a vision a very vivid one

This is so weird but I think I found a stone Uktena! It's got snake scales and a crystal in its mouth it seems but maybe I have it backwards and the crystals on its head!? I had never heard of such a thing until last night. I've had the stone for a couple years.

That is really cool definitely keep it , there are stone effigy’s , long stone walls here in north Georgia that the natives built that are massive. You might have found an artifact made by natives . That’s really awesome!!

@@NativeTongue thank you for your videos, I am learning a lot. It's fascinating. I will definitely be keeping my stones, don't worry. Even before I had heard of the Uktena, I knew the stones I found were special. They feel religious almost or something. 🤍🌼🤍

The crystal is transparent, as you say. This allows for clear sight. This could be metaphoric of the pineal, the gem within. Btw, the pineal contains microscopic crystals.
The esoteric mysteries a woven into our lore. Thank you so much.

Thats a cool story, it is different then other native legends rather then sounding like a symbolic story that tells a lesson it sounds like a record of actual events. Its very interesting. 👍

      LOCAL LEGENDS OF NORTH CAROLINA
GATUTI’Yi: "Town-building place," near the head of Santeetla creek, southwest from Robbinsville, in Graham county. High up on the slopes of the neighboring mountain, Stratton bald, is a wide "bench," where the people once started to build a settlement, but were frightened off by a strange noise, which they thought was made by an uktena.
If it wasn’t a Bigfoot they heard, which seems more likely, or i would assume, then what kind of sound would a paranormal big ass serpent sound like or make?
And the story sure does sound like some kind of eye witness testimony of paranormal activity.
And it has to be based in fact, because i too, see and heard that other tribes have similar stories and accounts of serpent like monsters in and around water.
It’s like all the different stories of Bigfoot. All similar.

So, I remember seeing this movie years ago on T.V. and for the life of me I can't remember it's title. All I remember is a scene where this indigenous guy is near a lake, and I'm pretty sure an Uktena comes out and he fights it. It's twilight time so everything is a kind of dark blue. Can anyone point me in the direction of the movie?

Horned serpents are even found in ancient norse, celtic etc lore. Even down to Mesopotamia. Often depicted as dragons, but still called serpent or worm

Very true i think it’s really neat to find so many cultures with so many similar mythological creatures !!
