Thanks so much for featuring us, guys! Grant, I love how you went into the game ready with a Firebrand speech already prepped-that's player commitment right there! Happy to answer any questions in the comments here 🦅
Oh wow, I'm surprisef to see that, a historical module for D & D. I played D & D a couple times when I was younger, very fun game. Normally games that go off into different eras and themes do their own rule sets. Very interesting to see this different setting, but using the D & D rules set. Very cool. 😎 Ambush!, I think, was very very close to a RPG. I played one or two missions solitaire as the game was designed, and that was it as far as playing solitaire. I had a friend that I wound up playing every single mission with, and we played it co-op. Ambush!, Move Out, Purple Heart, Silver Star, Battle Hymn, and Leatherneck. Many of the missions we played twice, and a few three times. It basically played very very much like an RPG.
My ancestor Bernardo de Galvez lead the spanish at pensacola and won resulting in british aid not arriving in yorktown. An rpg based in the south?? Im in
That's awesome! Our first campaign book ("The War in the North") is set mostly in New England and the Mid-Atlantic from 1775-1778, but we're already planning our second campaign, "The Southern Strategy." That storyline will open with intrigue and privateering in SUPPOSEDLY neutral New Orleans... where players meet in secret with Bernardo de Galvez as he sets his sights on British Florida.
I was intrigued by this game when it was first announced. I did back the project on Kickstarter as I thought the assimilation of history on a D&D system was a unique.
Great review! If you guys run an online game I would love to participate. I went all in at Magfest. Bought everything except the dice. Looking forward to future supplements.
@@ThePlayersAid Do we really need to answer that?...😄 Keep up the good work. You guys should come out to CA and play some Axis & Axis Bloodbath variant with us. Speaking of dorks.
I love this however I have a soft spot for FLAMES OF FREEDOM Grim & Perilous RPG: Powered by ZWEIHANDER RPG which is similar and packed with great source material highly recommend as a book, game and source material. There is also Revolutionaries by Mark Rein-Hagen which is more focused on being a Culper Spy and the spycraft etc it uses a unique set of cards for your character sheet and the cards are great. Very much a recommendation too.
If this can translate to cover the French and Indian War period, it sounds like you can use Fennimore-Cooper's "Leatherstocking Tales" (The Deerslayer, The Pathfinder, The Last of the Mohicans, The Pioneers, and The Prairie), as a source for campaigns, which would be incredibly cool, I would think!
@@ThePlayersAid that would be way cool to play through. Natty Bumpo and Chingachgook in the frontier wilds of upstate New York alone would be worth the price of admission.
Are you guys local to Indiana? I've picked up this module and want to run a game but am unsure of how to get started. Would love to see/participate in a game to get my feet wet.
@@ThePlayersAid it feels like that sometimes haha. Lots of 40k players due to the university. Anyway to put me into contact with these individuals? Is there a channel email that I could contact so we could continue this conversation?

Love you guys! Reeeaally looking forward to the Ks fulfilling!
Loved the Map. Loved both of you. Please keep streaming.

I love those Ambush games. I also played the one with Tank platoon instead of infantry. I will have to dig them out again.
"I'm on the winning side now babyyyy" 😂😂
It is an excellent system and was a great game at BGF

Fun fact about the battle is a cannon round hit the British armory directly which resulted in a huge explosion. Talk about critical hit

Nice review guys! Seems very interesting.

It's a fantastic way to familiarize people with the culture of the 1700s. Knowledgeable gamemasters are a must.
Oh man it was SOOOO fun! It was like A-team 1776 edition!!!

I was never dorky enough to get into D&D and only played a few times but this is intriguing🤔. It is so niche could I find anyone with which to play.
Hey now. Are we dorky enough? Hahaha.

It can absolutely do that!

I wonder how the mechanics of this could translate to Napoleonic, Pirate era or Civil War with skirmish based combats?
Very, very easily.
Keep us informed if you will run a session or two at GenCon. I have interested players.
Gencon is probably a no-go, but we might at some smaller cons during the year.
I thought from your thumbnail that the video would be about "Nations & Laws" or "Nations & Collections of Sacred Books". But, I was wrong. ;)
This is a D&D mod about the council of Trent.
@@ThePlayersAid I get it. I was just referring to the original spelling of your thumbnail. I see you corrected it.

We are in Indy, yes. We’re planning on running some sessions at Buckeye Game Fest over in Columbus, OH later in the year.
@@ThePlayersAid that's wonderful! I'm based out of West Lafayette. I'll look into that event and see if I can participate.
@@christianhouser9752 we do know some
