Scripps should consolidate their hospitals. Instead of cost shifting (charging paying patients more to cover non paying patients) why not offer out of pocket direct pay? Insurance companies are a scam. You pay all this money to them so they can determine which services are covered? Direct patient pay, at a reduced rate, without middle man insurance companies.

I don't blame scripps. Most of these women don't have insurance and use Medi-cal which doesn't pay a lot of to the medical group.
Medi-cal needs to keep up with rates.

Hospitals are businesses. You cant have a hospital based on low paying medical. Its just not possible...Talk to the bean counters..
