- Basic embossing technique using embossing ball tools and highlight embossing technique. There are 3 approaches to embossing on leaves :
1. A short study of real leaves
2. Light source creating highlights and shadows
3. Directions of embossing

Love this craft but unfortunately in India, difficult to get materials now s days and non persuing this beautiful art!! In uk they have created easy to do material like Ready designs plates in various pattero for embossing/ making holes for cutting
Your beautiful cards have inspired me, but I am trying to figure out how you did the color behind your Whitework. I have done some similar work with heavy vellum, but am having trouble finding >120 GSM parchment. Any suggestions?
the parchment used is 150 GSM.. the color used is oil pastel. I used Dorso from Pergamano
@@kanny0707 thank you, I have found that 167 GSM VELLUM and ink give me similar results. Can I ask you where are located? I'm in the US. Parchment is much more expensive than vellum and it is expensive to import the supplies, especially the pergamano tools from the UK so I can only use what I can find here. I found that 2 pergamano pens were $22.00, and the shipping and customs was $23.00. Again I thank you for sharing and I love your beautiful cards.
@@barbaralawson2411 great that you can find vellum that weight.. I am in Bangkok Thailand,, just finishing Zoom on parchment tonight.. I have some tools if you would like to purchase at lower price than from UK as I have stocked them for classes before moving from Singapore to Bangkok.. which State of USA are you in? just get basic tools only no need to get the full range then it will not be expensive doing this craft.
@@kanny0707 thank you...Thailand..Wow...it's the shipping that is the most expensive but I did find a $5.75 + $ 16.00 shipping starter pergamano kit that I hope will have a piercing tool included. We will see when it gets here. Imitation is the best form of flatery!! Thank you for your kindness.

Kanny, Could you tell me why the piece of plastic needs to be put on parchment before embossing, and does this only apply to spine of leaves.
normally embossing is done on the back of parchment. Spine and side veins of leaves are embossed from the front of parchment where tracing is done. Plastic is to protect the tool scratching on traced lines causing them to turn silvery and shiny.

I bought some tools for parchment craft I think I bought the wrong ones ,got some with the ball ,thinking they all have tools inside ,but the ball doesn't,t seem to come off,could you tell me what ones it is I would be very grateful if you could thank you
to emboss on parchment you will need ball tools various sizes and an embossing MAT.. if you don't put parchment on the embossing mat, embossing will not show up. Embossing mat is like a funky foam but slightly denser.
