Hogue listened to you and others' complaints. They're making the gen. 2 Deka with less screws and deep carry pocket clip. No more screws in the middle of the handle anymore.
@@MrShotgun757 I just got a pretty good deal on this at knife center. Probably because they are trying to run out stock on the old model. Doesn’t really give you an answer but I would think it’s soon and maybe you can get a good deal now if you choose.
One major problem.. when the blade is closed , the tip of the blade sticks up, and cut my pants, and pierced my skin.. I hope Hogue corrects this problem.. scales should be a little bit bigger. DANGEROUS.. Recall should be done.

It LITERALLY has one more screw per side than the Benchmade Mini Griptillian G10. Almost same/comparable size. If you know what the Griptillian liners look like, same here, except hogue used another screw per side to further stabilize the liner. Personally I think its great they didn't shortcut, and bothered to put the e extra screw per side...in the grip/liner. I don't understand the issue. Go look at the Minigrip. I love this design. Thank you Hogue.
Hey Bryan! If this is the same 20CV used in the Ritter/Hogue, it's good steel. Kinda in between CTS-XHP and Cruwear retention wise, so it's good. Really easy to sharpen, makes it a knife you don't mind cutting bunches of stuff as the edge comes back so easy. Strops back good too, if you don't let it get too dull. I enjoy the Ritter/Hogue immensely, and these 2 look awesome as well.
Great looking knife, if the quality & build is anything like my Exo1 then its also gonna be built like a tank. I think out of the two I would definitely go for the Wharncliffe, as its a little different 👊🏻🤓
Great review. I find the Deka to be an excellent knife. Agree with you on the ABLE lock. Very similar to the AXIS but just a bit better somehow. Keep up the great work!

I think they are Wolff springs. I have the clip point on order. Apparently there is a good demand and Knife Center has them back ordered. Great review as always.
Just got one. It’s is a nice little knife but holy hell the g-10 is rough and grippy. The edges on the inside are very sharp. Wish they ground those down a bit.
I like your wharn better also and really like the color, I do agree too many screws but don't see them as much with that color. I don't have a Hogue so might have to spring for this one. Nice review
Having broken my friends bugout on him at work, i pulled the trigger on this and havnt regretted once, hands down came sharper than a few knives iv sharpened myself 😅
I agree completely. Too many screws and I would love a slightly larger blade with no logo on the pocket clip!I(deep carry would be excellent).I hope Hogue make other versions this year with these requested modifications.
I could be wrong (and please correct me if I am), but that pocket clip slot looks identical to a Hinderer clip (which I believe the ZT fits Hinderer clips). As a result, if you don’t like the clip, I’d assume any aftermarket Hinderer clip (of which there are many) should fit.
If I didn’t have too many knives 🤓 I would buy the Wharney in blue....all those screws are silly and not needed, though...(I would like no pocket clip accommodation on the show side, as well.).
@@pop4803 just got one. I've never been a huge axis lock guy, I'm more into, admittedly silly, man jewelry kind of knives which usually means ti frame lock... But I'm a knife nut so I still have a few Benchmade knives around. I say all of that to say I bought this to see if I would enjoy a crossbar lock if it was done well and I'm not disappointed. It beats the breaks off of Benchmade quality in action and has my favorite blade of any knife I own (wharny version with compound grind) . Really glad I picked one up.
I've heard the complaints, sound to me like a bunch of bugout fans feeling threatened. I own both, except for the deep carry clip the bugouts got nothing on the Deka. The price didn't go up, you must've been looking at hogues website, that's full msrp, bladehq and knifecenter have them at $140 and $149 in stock. The bugout however did go up in price to $127.50 or $150 msrp for the plain blue one.
It's like they were answering the call of all the knife reviewers that often complain about #6 torx and griped for #8's. And then they gave them a busload in response!

I got my wharncliffe deka about two weeks ago. Hasn't left my pocket since, I'm completely enamored with it.

They are Wolff springs. I use Wolff spring kits in certain Firearms and they just don't fail like stock springs. Good stuff.

I think Knife Center has preorders for the Deka at the original price. Once they're in, I bet ya the price goes up.

Upswept Tanto-Cliffe. Kinda cool. Not much cutting edge for choppin veggies and such though, not much of the blade is gonna meet the board.
