I just found out this little secret to getting sweet tasting omena with no bitter taste and I thought its wise to share it with you guys. Omena/ dagaa / silver cyprinid are very tasty when prepared using the right recipe and my omena recipe is just among the best.

How do you get rid of the bitter taste without removing the heads and adding spices?
My procedure; I washed the omena with cold water twice, boiled the omena for 10 mins then nilikaanga na mafuta kiasi onion and nyanya, and lastly nikaongeza chumvi kiasi.
