After watching his new friend Hana otherwise known as Angel get chomped in half by Sukuna who recently stole Megumi’s body, we see Yuji finally snap, as he jumps from the ground onto the top of a nearby building leaving a crater in the roof of the one he lands on, and Sukuna looks Yuji in his eyes confused asking him why he’s still around after Sukuna meant to end him with his last attack on Yuji. It’s this moment where the most powerful character in the series realizes that Yuji the weak little human he’s been looking at as just an annoying vessel, was actually not strong because of him, and had his own hidden power waiting to be awakened, as Yuji’s rage explodes and he LEAPS from building to building crashing into Sukuna and throwing him from the roof onto the ground below, with Yuji continuing his attack by sending a giant piece of broken building flying towards Sukuna and goes even FURTHER by hitting the king of curses AGAIN, but it’s at this moment where Sukuna thinks for a second and realizes he knows exactly what’s to blame for Yuji’s strength, saying that Kenjaku does the grossest things sometimes, as he hides a secret from Yuji and this fight continues with Maki walking towards the sounds of fighting.

I've noticed that some of the strongest cursed techniques are the ones that the users don't understand how it works. We saw this with Tabata vs kenjaku. Sukuna has the greatest knowledge of jujutsu, but I don't think he's faced someone who uses their ability without knowing what it is. And he's been trapped inside yuji. Even he doesn't quite know why yuji is as strong as he is. Maybe he knows that yuji is kenjakus son, but he doesn't understand WHY he is Yuji and that's why he'll lose to him.

Yuji deserves so much credit he isn’t mid at all. It’s always the characters that people don’t focus on or talked down upon that end up having insane power. I think gege was smart to have it not focus on yuji for awhile, because when it’ll be least expected that’s when the character becomes top tier or at least shown that “damn okay no wonder he’s the mc”
I love how sukuna constantly talked yuji down but is slowly realizing “oh shit I might be severely fucked” he should’ve caught on to yuji and his hidden potential a long time ago. the thing that i fw about jjk is that the main character isnt the strongest in the series and the fact they aren't afraid to kill off their strongest character even tho we didnt see it because it got offscreened but its not like the typical anime story where the main character has a hidden power inside(demon or sum like that) or the main character is from a bloodline or sum plot armor shit like that at first i was skeptical when sukuna was handling shit for yuji in the first season
