    I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you are a true inspiration for many many of us.
    Really unbelievably simple and easy to do plans and easily adjustable plans.
    I can’t wait to get back home to Florida I have been buying the few tools that I don’t have to get some of your products done.
    Thank you very much for sharing it looks like I’ll save myself and my family some serious money!!!
    Have a great day and live a safe and happy life,
    Sincerely,

    I'm never sure which tools to buy and all the tutorial videos show people who use them regularly, it's so nice to see you use it for the first time and figure it out. It's actually way more helpful for me. I may have to invest in that one. Thank you Ana.

    Ana, first of all how do you not have a million subscribers by now. I love the work that you do I think you're so inspiring. I don't know if you have it on your site but I would love to see you do like a beginners video into tools. watching you makes me want to delve into this world of building and I have wanted to for quite a while. But when it comes to tools it's overwhelming. I go into one of the big box stores and you look at all these tools and you don't know what's good and you don't know what's not so great and you want to spend your money once. you don't want to buy something that's inexpensive but also cheap and then six months later realize that you need to upgrade. now I realize that I probably can't afford the Sol system that you have but I guess what I would like to go into a store is knowing what I need knowing what is required to make the job easier. so I was thinking a tool tutorial would be fantastic to go over things like a really great drill the bits that you need what is necessary vs. What is really great if you can afford it and so on and so on. If you already have this type of video out there or a series of videos can you point me in the right direction. I think a video series would be fabulous.

    This was a great project. I love the finished result. I just want to add one more tip to your work. You have great hair and all I could see happening when you were using your miter saw with your long hair hanging down in front out you was your hair being sucked into the saw. Please pull your hair back. Shop safety is number one. Trust me when I say this because I've learned from more than one experience. 😂 😂 Love your work and the simplicity of it all. Makes it great for the average person to be able to make awesome projects.

    Hey Ana. I love the table but have a small suggestion that won't change the look at all. Right now the top of the bottom (you know what I mean) could be subject to shear. To eliminate shear, put some 2.75" high blocking in bottom tray, under the legs, to help transfer load directly to the floor. Say you have a New Year's Eve party and someone dances on the table . . .

  • @trevors8577

    14:15 I'd have added another 2x4 above that so the legs are sitting on the underside of the table surface. Currently everything on the table goes through the brad nails and glue on the side skirts and then to the legs and then through the brad nails and side skirts on the base to the floor. Though I like to make my stuff strong enough to stand on so I build accordingly :) Otherwise it's a great looking table!!

    • @Joe-zz3vx
      @Joe-zz3vx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where would you have put another 2x4? On the underside of the table top so the legs would be nailed into that 2x4 on the underside? Thanks

    Simple suggestion if your not going to square up those joined sides with a hand plane or table saw might I suggest alternating your pocket holes on both boards. Putting the pocket holes on only one board is not as strong as if you had alternating holes on both boards.

    If you built the skirt first you can glue and brad nail the 1x10 to the top. Or do that and the pocket holes! Lol more than one way to skin a cat! Either way, I love it and will be adding it to my plans.
    Do you use any polyurethane to protect your stuff or is it just stain?

    The only Tip that matters lol: don’t use construction lumber from the big box stores(Lowe’s, Home Depot and others) typically the lumber is not only bottom shelf lumber but the moisture content is usually about 25%…that’s a huge no no for furniture. What looks great after it’s built will be destroyed and pulled apart once it’s been inside for a short time. Go to an actual hard wood dealer and use furniture grade lumber that has a moisture content of around 6-9%…the less the better!

    Thank you for your willingness to share. Quick question regarding building a larger table. How wide can you go before the corner supports need something in the middle? Can you do three 1x12s? Ana, do you have to deal with wood expansion where you live when adding edge boards to projects or bread boards to tables? Here the humidity is to bad to use it without using the proper joinery to allow for wood movement.

    • @AnaWhiteDIY
      @AnaWhiteDIY  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, really enjoy your videos especially since there isn’t a need for fancy/expensive tools. I even build a farm table for my dining room. My question to you is how do you prevent cupping or warping of the wood? I go to my local Menards and spend extended time picking out real good pieces of wood. However, when I built the table I had issues with cupping. After it was stained and sealed it came out excellent because it added character to the piece. But I’m not sure it’ll work every single time like that. Is the solution is simple as making sure I finish the project in one day, or should I purchase something like a bench top planer? I ended up taking about a day and a half to build the table. So I don’t know if that was my mistake there or not. Thanks for any recommendations. 😀

    is that a 1,5k miter saw + how much for the vacuum solution? I am just starting to explore what tools to buy, I did buy a pile of cedar lumber already, just looking around for specials for power tool sales. I do want to save for that proper miter instead of yanking about with a circular saw :D Is it a good idea to get the 10'' Ryobi corded at 37% ($80) off or wait till another special on the cordless, what vacuum system to get for a corded one, if I'd work with it in the outside screened patio, there's a fan and tile floor, but also the mosquito screen I wouldnt want to get all cedar-dusty (southfloridahello) just wondering how to go about safest most efficient setup for the building. are tools ever getting more than the current 37% discount? even looking at 2020 black friday sales it looks like Ryobi's discount is super stingy in comparison to other brands, unless it's a corded product. probably bcoz it is so popular thanks to ANA WHITE :))) speaking of south florida, can I even set up my workstation in the patio considering the humidity? are the tools alright left in their bag or do I have to drag them indoors. who knows
